What you tube should do is flag the person who gives 1 stars for a majority of a particular director. Then list those "haters" on your page so you can see where they actually come from. This will allow two things. 1 you can see who hates you the most and investigate their motives for 1 staring all your videos. 2 a record can be kept for future botting. So a person who makes an account purely for 1 staring accounts can be flagged to the point of not being able to 1 star. Record the IP and ban it

I read somewhere that many Christians leave their ratings on for a few views by their subscribers and then after they have a 5.0 rating they turn off ratings.

So, I do that. I don't feel good about it but my goal is for my videos to be viewed and I have no strong attachment to the ego rush of getting a bunch of 5-star ratings. I just don't want to be a victim of teh votebot.
