I'm in a band and a lead screamer and I practiced with my band, We played Mr. Highways thinking about the end about 10 times and i had a somewhat hurting tickle in my throat i use the tech. while screaming (especially the dumping one) and i also vocal warm ups. Are you sure that this isn't false chord? I combined the getting hit in the gut sound with the yawn/heavy sigh death growl technique and I got some of the best screams I've ever gotten. I'm going to try and see if I can do it again tonight, but I thought fry came from the creaking or popping sound you create with your voice? Are you using those in your fry?
