The world average age to stop breast feeding is 4 to 5 years old. I don;t have children yet as I am waiting until I finish my child psych degree. I have researched, and find this an extremely interesting topic that most people are not educated in at all. I do find this a bit odd, but honestly- it seems natural to me. I never got breast fed, but I have tried my step mother's milk {she had some type of pump that put it into the bottle} when I was 10.. DX I was too curious. It was just a drop, but it was the sweetest thing I had ever tasted.
Really, I don't think it's hurting them at all.
