I'm still not sure if I like the "voices" of the Black Lanterns (I wish they didn't have voices at all), but I love where it's going in terms of the GLs. Interestingly enough, I think a lot of stories of DC's past...Death of Superman and on...are going to be resolved in a sick and twisted, but awesome way. Oh, Captain Atom backup in Action Comics 879!

Green lantern was the pick of the week for me!!! Wendsday comics were not all that. Expensive, way too uncomfortable to read, and short damn it. For 4 bucks I want some "re-read" value. Blackest night hits shelfs in 30 minutes!!!

my biggest qualm with wednesday comics is... 4 frigging dollars... its newsprint paper. the ink looked pretty nice but come on.... it just seems to me that being on newsprint should bring it down... plus a lower price would go along with the whole "old timey" feel of it. and im not saying 50 cents, something like $2 would have been way way better. i think this wont last with that $4 price tag.

I haven't picked up much Green Lantern comics outside of the Blackest Night #0 and this issue of Green Lantern. I know what's going on in the books but actually buying this issue made me want to buy Blackest Night even more!

The story and art really surprised me.

GL #43 was a solid issue, but not a great one. i'm a 100% with pete here! the guy wasn't that creepy. we all knew he was going to kill him self, and the reason why he is against the green lanterns is shallow, it made no real sense to me except that his nuts and doesn't like light¿? theres a 1000 better villains with better origins that deserve a hole issue.

pete, i'm a fan who often shares your sensibilities about plotlines, however i think you neglect the quality of the writing itself. for example GL43: is wonderfully written. maximum drama wold be alan scott as the prime black lantern, since he's not exactly carrying JSA. also, 100days is fucking propaganda. i means something for powers to publish this liberal fantasy about a messianic elite who is actually waging wars in 3 countries. if it were about stalin this would be obvious. pretty gross.

Green Lantern 43 was the best! It made me super hyped for Blacked Night. Manhke's art was superb! The story set the perfect mood. I can't wait for Sinestro to pwn these guys. He should grow more powerful as the fear of death spreads across the universe.
