  • @Scownage Wow. You are slow. I think we may have gone over something like this about a month ago. You didn't even notice that I mentioned the wrong muscle, either. "You probably are the dumbest piece of shit i've read." First, you can't read me. I am a person, and I am not composed of text. Second, why would you complain about MY gramma when YOU can't even capitalize the I in "I've"? You didn't put an apostrophe on "can't" and you didn't capitalize your 4th sentence. You shouldn't be talking.

  • And austin your retarded you obviously don't know how to lift

  • Omg stfu about the form there doing it fine. Slight arch 1-2 inches of the chest. Good form guys

  • check out my lifting vids! and subscribe to watch me get better and better :)

  • All of them have their feet planted on the ground. If you know how to weight train PROPERLY, then you would know that when you plant your feet on the ground, you are using your leg and back muscles. Bench pressing is supposed to be used to build your Bicepts.

If you want to isolate your other muscles so that you are only useing you bicepts, then you should straighten your legs out and keep your toes pointing up, so that only your heels are on the ground. THAT is how you do a proper bench press

  • @austinvancil1 No, a bench works the TRIceps, the pectorals, and probably lats+delts to stabilize the weight. The closer the grip, the more the triceps; the further apart, the more the pecs get worked.

(HINT: Any lift where the arm STRAIGHTENS during the lift works the tri's; any lift where the arms BENDS works the biceps.)

  • @austinvancil1 "Bench pressing is supposed to be used to build your Bicepts." ahhahahaha shut the fuck up you sound like an idiot

  • @austinvancil1 You probably are the dumbest piece of shit i've read. As soon as I read "bench pressing is suppose to be used to build your biceps" I stopped reading. You cant even spell bicep correctly. you have no idea what the hell you're talking about, quit fucking commenting...

  • that bald dude throws up 225 like I do 135.

  • oh my god i just realized the guy in the black shirt looks just like Bruce Willis. The resemblance isn't even funny.

  • congratulations. you can rep my max

  • if anyone thinks benching 225 or aquatting 315 is weak then your on steriods

  • @MATT111MARTIN Or just full of shit like 90% of these kids posting their stats.

  • metallica sucks.

  • @bicmyflic25 correction: POST 1990 metallica sucks.

  • @oldstock1607 Agreed, kill em - and justice era is heavy metal/thrash at its finest. I just hate this fucking song, i REALLY REALLY hate it. i would rather just listen to some gay country tune from the 50's or fuck, listen to the sound of nails on a chalkboard.

  • @bicmyflic25 totally. The their sucking truly began with the black album. Everything up to, and including ...And Justice for All kicked ass. Everything after that, and I mean EVERYTHING, has sucked balls. I remember I rushed home to listen to the black album. It was one of the great letdowns of my life.

And yes, this song is fucking atrocious.

  • @oldstock1607 well it didnt have that "fight fire with fire" "battery" "damage inc." type feel to it. my stepdad was a teenager in california when metallica was in there master of puppets phase, but when they came out with and justice he said alot of the hardcore fans were calling and justice sell out???dont ask me, and justice is brutal as fu$% to me.

  • @bicmyflic25 It sounds like your stepdad and I are about the same age. I was a die-hard metallica fan, and all the fans I knew thought And justice was the shit, ALL however, agree that the black album was when the gayness began. What metallica fan could not like harvester of sorrow?

  • Well aside from all the technique fighting going on around here, I must say great video. Be curious on the body weight of each person.

  • awesome music choice, always workout to metallica or slayer

  • I'm 158 pounds and did 225 x22. Next time I'm going to be that homo being filmed in the weight room lol

  • Fuck eh my max is only 185 :(

  • For the comment that says 3rd guy has perfect form, his elbows are too far out, they should be more towards his sides.

  • what does the third guy weightin' he doesnt look very huge

  • tried to move to 225 today i almost had it with one rep but i didnt give that extra push and need some more techniques cuz im a freshman and this is my fist time benching so i dont know much about it

  • @9millimeter123 That's good for a freshman. Keep at it.

  • @DarkAnima696 Do you know like any techniques that i can do on the bench, because when u get to over 200 pounds it starts to get heavier.

  • @9millimeter123 I usually learn my techniques by browsing the internet. If you google "bench press technique" you should find a lot of good sites.

  • Just moved up to 225 today, 3 sets / 6 - 8 reps

  • i did 225 x 5 today :D:D:D:D:D i weigh 160 :D

  • does the second know hes not benching

  • the second guy is not going up or down all the way

  • That's exactly how many times I can push 225 (10 reps).

  • I'd be happy just to do 225 for 5 reps. I just did 220 for 4 reps tonight so I'm close. That third guy who could pump out 225 like it was a paper weight is really amazingly strong (from my perspective that is).

  • That third guy just hittin 225 like it's nothing. Damn.

  • @SIOYGYGYG the faster you do them the less energy you use

  • i cant really do that arching technique because my feet dont have a good base and when i lift i start to get a cramp in my hamstring. can anyone help?

  • damn, that first guy was wicked PERFECT, really beautiful lifting right there. you could tell it was a working weight for him but he still kept nice form and speed.

  • Actually, every true bodybuilder knows that arching your back helps squeeze your shoulders and drive through the bench press. Bench press is all 90/10 triceps bro need to learn that. I have done the arch technique for a year now and helps me out, but to each his own....everyone has their own tech niques.

  • @demonpower09 Good point, arching the back slightly help shift the focus and squeezing your shoulder blades helps to better engage the pecks in the workout.

  • @demonpower09

bullshit. it is called not having the strength in your chest to press the weight with properly. you are supposed to keep your feet flat on the floor and your back on the bench. this first guy has horrible form.

    1. feet not flat on floor

    2. back arching up off of bench

    = FAIL.

  • @ianschecter

Learn to bench before bullshitting people who actually know how to do it. Arching back makes benching safer for the shoulders and stabilizes the lift. If you want to call preventing injuries and maximizing the weight cheating, then it's your choice. Making an arch is completely acceptable in powerlifting competitions anyways. I wouldn't really say they have no strength in the chest...

You will need to watch this- a guide to proper bench by Dave Tate.

    /watch?v=_QnwAoesJvQ

  • @Deadkira

that is a fucking lie. when you bench press(if you actually want to work your CHEST muscles) and not your BACK, and LEG muscles you should:

    1. Keep your feet planted flat on the floor

    2. keep your back flat on the bench

    3. lower and raise the weight in a slow, controlled movement inhaling on the way down and exhaling on the way up.

    4. don't drop the weight down and bounce it off your chest

you can argue all you want, but the bench press is supposed to be a chest exercise.

  • @ianschecter

I actually linked a video of a well known professional powerlifter talking about bench press form, and you reply back with YOUR own opinion of a proper bench? Nuff said.

  • @Deadkira Exactly man, I arch my back some and I hear people bitching about it saying that that they aren't true reps but yet they can barely lift 225. I arch my back thanks to my strength and conditioning coaches tat all have Masters at Northwestern State Univ and opened me up to a world of strength instead of the robot lifting.

  • @demonpower09, i don't quite understand? "...bench press is all 90/10 triceps..."

  • @infinteuniverse Bench press is the most synergistic workout in my opinion, go do your regular bench press workout, the next time you come in work hard tris or even bis then try and do the same.

  • @demonpower09, do you mean try to exercise the biceps or triceps before taking a set of bench press? I usually do chest followed by lats, iv'e done it in reverse order as well, I certainly can't lift the same amount of weight as if I had benched first. Though my theory as to why this is, is because of mental fatigue. But I'm not entirely sure.

  • @infinteuniverse

Not sure what he's saying either.

Bench press targets specifiaclly "Pectoralis Major, Sternal"

Muscles that are also used in this Bench press motion but not the target muscle are "Pectoralis Major, Clavicular", "Deltoid, Anterior", "Triceps Brachii".

Muscles that help stabalize the movement are "Biceps Brachii, Short Head"

When you arch your back you are reducingthe distance you have to lift the weight, it's like doing a declined bench press. -Don't arch.

  • @demonpower09 It's harder on your back if you arch...although sometimes you cant help it

  • When you go down that low it really doesnt matter. He brings it down to about an inch above his chest which is perfect but I still prefer to touch the chest because I know i am doing every rep the same way. When you get tired and are bringing it an inch above the chest you can start cheating like you said but as you can see, he has pretty much mastered that range of motion and doesn't need to touch his chest.

  • I made a new Bench video on monday will get posted as sonn as I get it ready....

  • i can tell you look natrul i left school 1995 been traning on and of ever since i have had steroids offerd on the plate by mates but alwais detarmand to do it the natrul way today i am 17 stone 7 pounds all natrul dont smoke dont drink never touched drugs and i can put my hand up in life and say i have acheaved this and i am proud rispect to you pal if your natrul and lifting that sort of waight

  • I am natural too and do that 225 20+ times with good form...315 for 8. I guess you are doing good though for all natural...I am an exception to the rule and so are you.

  • dude you are bad at spelling

  • form on here is perfect. ignore to weight-training newbies.

  • @papabanks - The guy in black shirt/shorts has the best form. You butt should never leave the bench. You slightly arch your back pulling your shoulder blades together, but never should you be basically humping the air like most people are doing in this video.

  • av just noticed the guy in the green shorts has done a rep of 27 that is good realy i normaly to 3 sets of 10 start on bench press then 3 set of 10 reps on inclain press then 3 set of 10 with declain press then flys dumbell press and finish on dips for a chest workout

  • lol.

    seriously overtraining.

probably move up about 20 lbs. every 3 to 4 months (if you've been lifting that long).

  • ok i will get a clip made of me presing 225 bench press 10 times nice and slowly with my leggs up and back dawn

  • your technique is wrong your using your back and pushing with your leggs your supose to keep your back straight and leggs up

  • Your an idiot go and learn the proper way tobench before you open your mouth... Back straight??? Legs up??? Come on man...Show me what you got lets see your bench press for reps @ 225...

  • thats exactly right...ull pop ur spine one day doing that

  • what is a good lifting weight for a 16 year old guy of decent size?

  • reping...skinny-120 average-140 big- 170-200 would be my guesses btw this is 12 reps of 4 sets

  • 900 lbs ...

  • anything. keep lifting.

  • Everysingle one of those guys has a horrible technique, if you wanna lift big, you still gotta lift right

  • Your an idiot my technique is near perfect....Show me your video???

  • that bald guy is a beast

  • watch my bench press of 225

  • Well im still in my mother womb and I do 225 for 15 reps and im 10lb. Is this good?

    Twat comments ftl.

  • i can do 225 at least 5 times and i weigh 131

  • That bald guy is a fucking beast!!

  • im 15 and i can bench 260lbs but i only weigh 165lbs -.-

  • coool i'm 15 and i do 90kg is that good?

  • thats 200 pounds , you are doing good kid.

  • good work people, good work!!!

  • My dad can press 475, and he is 5'8, 156 LBS, a Colonel in the Marine Corps., kinda cool cause I get my strength gene from him.

    I can press about 152 LBS, and I'm 15.

  • haha 152? I hope your not counting the clamps as a pound each

  • Mandalore863 how much do you weigh?

  • i JUST turned 15 and i'm at about 185-190 bench, but thats good, i'm 150 lbs but i took 2 weeks on vacation so i'm just getting back up there. keep it up!

  • I'm about 103 LBS, pretty small for my age.

  • yeah but honestly, how ARE you getting the 152? awkward bar or something? where's the 2>?

  • You can get fractional plates that weigh 1 pound and less. That's why you see world records like 1,036 pound attempts and 704 and shit like that.

  • yeah thats not 225 its 185...good job tryin boys.

  • ???? how thats two plates on each side

  • look how much thinner the outside plate is.

  • dude some plates are made different i was using 225 and two of the plates were thicker but shorter but it said on the side 45 pounds so....

  • they look the same on the side view like total circumference wise but not in thickness...i dont know its not that big a deal anyways.

  • good benching there but i notice the smaller guys tend to arch there back more i guess cause there body weight does not equal more down pull on the bench like a bigger guy...i am 6 foot 284 lbs i bench 225 like 30 times....

  • Good job to the dude doing 225lbs 27 times! When you going to have the 315lbs video on here?

  • it is 225 one of the plates is thicker than the 45

  • lol..only 185

  • Ha white shirt blue pants horible fucking form. Dude in the black shirt is strong though props to him even though he doesn't fully lock out and pause (as would be a legal lift) but I still couldn't do that. See he keeps his fucking form solid, not like pussy in the white

  • TRUE THAT I don't train for size. Form is important. but I don't train for looks I train to kill a fucken man.

  • You dont train at all!

  • I myself like the gray tank top spotter with his legs crossed, casually looking around. I hope mankillerbaldmorondude never needs a lift off.

  • way to cheat. two of them didnt lock out there arms all the way and your ass shouldn't leave the bench when you press......thats cheating

  • My ass never leaves the bench man watch it again....And I lock out im just doing it fast so its hard to tell... When your ass make a 225 bench video and you can beat me pound for pound then you will have room to judge. Untill then keep lifting with your girly weights.

  • I can bench 225 5times I'm only 15

  • lock your arms are you fucking kidding me son. enjoy your joints in 5 years ass clown

  • You guys always talk shit when you are jealous you can never get near me pound for pound. I weighed in at 190 benched 225 27 times. You cant do this ever. I max 385 now weighing 195 and its clean and perfect form. Untill any of you posers that talk shit on here make a video where you cant beat me, Keep the shitty comments to yourselves..

  • I have been lifting for about 10 years now. Getting ready to do a new video with 315.

  • I agree with you mate there was nothing wrong with your bench press, fucking jealous bastards!

  • I have been lifting hard for 13 years. I am weighin around 220 right now.. And am clean! Just put up 225 32 times. Am hitting 405 at the end of my workout. Def need to work on my form though.

  • sick! is it better to work out everday or everyother day?

  • everyday .. but only hit one body part in that day. take a day off once a week though . My day off is sat... got to let your muscles recover. I actually just hit 225 40 times with one board last tuesday :)

A good workout is back on Mon, Chest on tue, Legs and cardio on Wed, Shoulders and abs on thurs, Arms on fri and Cardio and abs on Sat..

  • @bingo17 everyday, but one day do push movement, next day do pull, next day do legs....
