Clark and Lana had more scenes together and the writers seemed to like them more. It's depressing as a Clark*Lois fan from decades ago to say that. This particular ILY of Clark and Lana actually isn't that good.
awww...old clana!! miss them...after season 4 though...it just got stupid..i mean rlly...clark was so obsessed it was ridiculous..i wanted to slap him sometimes and be like "CUT THE CORD ALREADY!!"...and tht clois scene...SO ROMANTIC!!!!!!!!!!
Awwwww!!! Tear, Lana and Clark's scene was so bittersweet. Lois and Clark's "I love you" scene was more... I don't know, both were more cautious, probably due to being hurt in the past, but they are equally awesome <3
I actually fall in LOVE with Lois's character... I love how she's so tough but in this scene she's just so vulnerable. I love when he says she missed her and she just goes "Oh." and smiles :)
What I love about Clois is that even though Lois is more assertive and kind of abrasive and doesn't take crap from Clark, he is NEVER lacking in confidence around her. He's never uncomfortable in his own skin, even when confronting her, which is all Clark ever was with Lana. All Clana moments are filled with angst and tears and one step forward then two steps back, and who wants to live like that? Clois is happiness, laughter and contentment. It's GROWING together rather than just BEING together
CLOIS!!! FOREVER AND EVER!!!! Way more romantic with Clois. Clana was way too dramatic!! It's a really really sweet scene between Clark and Lois and I couldn't imagine it any better!
Baby I need you+happy Clark and happy Lois+floating= Amazing! =)
@yesyesohyay10 Both couples had their share of obstacles. For Clois were: The secret, the rift between them almost at the end of S8, Oliver, Clark-Lois-RBB, Zod, a break up, Clark leaving earth, Lois going to Africa, her coming back and the tension, Lois' Dad, Slade, Clark Luthor, the VRA, Clark going global as a hero, the two identity thing, Darkseid, the PZ thing, Toyman, AULionel, Jor-el, Oliver (again lol), their fears, etc.
The difference is Clois has never had any obstacles put in their way.
Clana has the secret (biggest issue), red k, bizarro, brainiac coma, lex plotting, lionel blackmail, Jor El tyranny, kryptonite suit and Clark's stupid behaviour. Hardly a fair comparison.
@yesyesohyay10 i dont know i think they both had their obstacles, Clois had Clark Luthor, the Secret, the Clark/Lois/Blur love Triangle... not to mention Oliver, they both had HUGE commitment issues (especially Lois).
I don't mean to brust any Clana fans bubble...but the Clois "I love you" was better in every way. It was just easy. I love you, plain and simple. No drama.
*sigh* I'm sorry Claners, but all of Clana's milestones were kind of sadm in my point of view, while Clois' were always happy! This ILY is one of the examples: in Clana there's crying, crying, and he goes away and then in Clois there's pure bliss!
You also have the secret telling: crying, crying and sadness with Clana and then with Clois it's so... sigh... I mean... I'm using pure bliss again, with a little humour in the mix of course ;P
I think just the way each scene played out after the "I love you"s were said shows which one was better (at least in my book).
There is no doubt in my mind that Clark loved Lana, but those ILYs were said and then he leaves anyway. Clark loves Lois too and those ILYs were said just because they wanted to tell each other how they felt.
Lois didn't say i love you Clark in committed she answered a question. Do you love this Man? She answered yes, even if after she lied in the elevator, we officially knew lois was in love with Clark in Committed. Funny thing we learn in Instinct that clark has strong feelings for lois, it broke maxima spell who understood how important lois was for Clark, so jealous she decided to kill Lo
@TheMrbollox. No. Not biased. Show CANON. This is first ILY exchanges between the couples - as in, they say it to *each other*. If you like Clana that's fine, but I think it's a bit sad you need to resort to calling the maker of this vid biased when it's just a clipping of show footage.
Clana's entire relationship was always fueled by desperation. Even as far back as their first "ILY's". Lana was trying to keep Clark in her life. Where as with Lois, Clark told her he loved her, not because he wanted to keep her but because he just wanted to tell her. His one line, "I'm not worried about you. I missed you", speaks volumes of the relationship. Where he was always worried about his relationship with Lana, with Lois he isn't. Lana was his first love, Lois is his true love. :)
Clana will always be much better but either way, you kinda picked a crappy quality clana scene then put a clear clois one lmao. There were many heartfelt 'I love you' clana moments, whereas the clois ones are empty and awkward. Clana has passion :)
welll she matched them up by moments ...so the first time Lana says I love you, and the first time Lois says it... i mean i think some Lana moments had "PASSION" but alot of them were just as ackward as well because they had alot of drama in the realationship...
@5hoursleepd The comparison was "the first ILYs exchanged by Clana vs the first ILYs exchanged by Clois". By the way, I completely disagree with your take on Clois. That Clois ILY was heartfelt and you could see it in their eyes alone, that they'd loved each other for a while and it was almost like a sigh of contentment finally hearing each other say it out lout what had been in their hearts since, at least, mid S9. Now, I enjoy Clana at times, they were sweet, but I just prefer Clois by a mile.
@5hoursleepd ~ it wasn't a Random pick of a crappy quality Clana moment. It was simply the FIRST time for both couples. That's why this video was made. And the resulting feelings/emotions in the scene; speaks for itself, imho.
Thank you so much for posting this... just last week, I had asked someone about this first moment... I had not seen that before. Really, really nice to see this... thanks again for sharing!!
I love all these parallel videos! Not cos I think we need shipper wars to break out, but because I LOVE seeing how far the show has come, how far CLARK has come and it tickles me to see him so happy. Thanks for clipping these together and posting. Looking forward to any more parallels you can come up with :)
@Seersha1 I agree. This isn't so much about Lois vs Lana (because frankly I'm sick of it) but of how much Clark has grown since those early seasons, not only as a hero but as a man. Clark displayed many heroic moments in the early seasons, but right now he is so much more emotionally ready to take on the mantle of Superman, and this clip helps so this because he is so much more ready to share that part of himself with the woman he loves than he was then. Thanks for posting :D
