There are people in Northshield who carry little pewter "savage daughter" tokens - don't know where they got them or anything - I only know that they do because I was given one after singing this at a Northshield bardic circle on Pennsic.
I've also heard that there is an unspoken rule that all of Mistress Wyndreth's apprentices have to write a parody of this song at least once... :) I've only heard one though.
Those lovely tokens were made by THL Dahrien from Caer Anterth Mawr; I have a handful of them and I treasure 'em.
It is not a rule--spoken or otherwise--that my apprentices have to write anything, muchless a parody of anything I've written. While "Savage Daughter" has some awesome parodies out there, I don't believe any of them came from someone in my household. Not that I've heard, anyway. ;)
@TheSavageDaughter Heh, it was Darien that gave me one, I should have guessed he'd made them himself. "Your Mother's Darkest Nightmare" is the only parody I've heard, but it made me smile. A lot.

I'm glad you like this. The singer is the composer and it is definitely the one that everyone learned first. There are many parodies of it but this will always live in all of our hearts as the way it should be sung and will be heard.
This is one of favorite soangs and to see the women all standing side by side singing it around a camp fire is awe struck. Yes Lilies Calontir women .
One of the highlights of my lilies war this year was having all the tough ladies of Calontir stroll into the center of the singing circle to sing this. I heard the comment 'if you're singing this, you're singing it in here" and anyone humming was yanked in--hair streaming fists to the side, it was an anthem. loved it!
