  • I loved this movie when I was young... Joe Armstrong was ganster!!!!

  • I haven't seen this in years this is terrible thanks for the upload

  • whoa he snapped that twig like a twig!

  • If Michael Jai White were making movies in the 80s he woulda done hella bunch of these Cannon and gulobolus (or whatever his name was) flicks...

  • trailer music sounds like "revenge of the ninja" music

  • Is American Ninja considered an oxymoron?

  • @loco4vicodin1 I'm guessing it was for the same reason why, in the UK they are the teanage mutant hero turtles. ninjas were assassins and therefor not good guys.

  • @hrtuvchrome lol, trip out. It kinda sounds weird with Hero Turtles replacing Ninja Turtles.

  • Pfft, Americans always trying to 1-up everyone...

  • I just watched this travesty the other idea and just LOLed at how little sense the ninja-costumes made.

I mean... They all know how you look and yet you feel the need to put on a hood when you fight, in order to get that authentic ninja-look:D

  • LMFAO Ah, the American fascination with becoming an Eastern-like warrior...

  • Yeah! American Ninja for President (1:33)

  • Trailer of the day! Double feature!

  • I remember this movie, funny title haha

  • Me and my brother used to watch this over and over when we were little

  • What a classic.... :)

  • always wonderd what happend to Micheal Dudikoff , but I saw this movie when I was a kid and loved it...now as an adult who know a crap ton more then I did its a good movie and that about it lol

  • best movie ever JOE JOE JOE

  • after watching machete i realised what was missing in the movies now a days n thoguht to go watch a movie which in my child hood captivated me

    THE AMERICAN NINJA!!!!

  • Father of Dudikoff is russian

  • U.S.A. U.S.A. U.S.A.!

  • This one was bad (although I loved it at the time), but the sequels take the cake for ultimate martial cheese...

If it ain't Sho Kosugi it ain't a Ninja film! ;-)

  • @DingKong DAMN STRAIGHT!

  • i fell off my dinosaur last time i watched this movie buts its good :)

  • @liltlejohn7 it must been long 3 years :D

  • I remember seeing this movie 20 years ago. I was 6 and from that day I wanted to become a ninja

  • @sonatastrato Now what?Are you officially ninja? o.O

  • 19 ninjas got their asses raped by Michael Duddikoff

  • awesome

  • watched this tonight :D Cheesy 80's goodness! Thank you Obscurus Lupa (if you ever read this lol )for reminding me of this great 80's cult movie

  • "American Warrior",was the original tittle?Reminds me the movie,"Return of the Jedi"(1983),the original title was,"Revenge of the Jedi"(but director George Lucas changed it 'cause a Jedi knight does not "Revenge").

  • 1980s is full of Ninja Kung Fu movies

  • Cannon Films put such great B-movie action flicks in the 80s and early 90s. Not sure if they are still around but they played a huge part in my childhood, almost as big as any Arnold or Stallone film, these guys rocked! Not as easy to watch their films today, but still a good time.

  • @Daemonocracy No they are not still around as Cannon films anyway. Cannon films went bankrupt in 1995 or so and then reappeared as Nu Image movies.

  • @snnecksjr Correction. Cannon films went bankrupt in 1993.

  • And yet somehow martial arts in America has been reduced to a shameful joke. No idea how that ever happened. Oh wait, I know:

Friggen ninjas with friggen laser beams on their friggen hands.

  • Great Film! total 1985 VHS! Dudikoff is underrated

  • many childhood memories of watching this on VHS. many a bloody nose at my grandparents from the fights amongst us grandsons over watching American Ninja, BloodSport or Kickboxer first.

  • i love ninjaaaaaaass no homo

  • Mike Dudikoff is a fuckin PIMP.

  • I don't care if the 80's are gone, there's nothing more cool than a ninja!

  • Ninjas without malls. Thats how it should always be...

  • I WAS TOO POOR TO BUY A NINJA SUIT WHEN I WAS A LITTLE BOY :((((

  • i use to go with my parents to the 99 cents store to buy the ninja toys

  • Best Ever. It doesn't get better than 80's action movies.

  • ah the 80s were great, this movie use to get me so pumped.

  • All your base are belong to us.

  • i love this flim very much and if i can a ninja i we have like it

  • NOW IN THE HANDS.. OF AN AMERICAN!

  • The best! You young bucks don't know nothing bout dat right dea!!!!

  • @JevonMW I always wanted to be a ninja until i seen a ninja get his ass handed to him in one of those old ufc fights.

  • @ojibwayjayceon a ninja won ufc 3

  • The dumbest movie ever!

  • @SvedskiKuvar your the dumbest movie ever!!!

  • Slightly reminds me of ninjas :) This and Ninja assasin exactly show legends about ninjas.

  • oh man, they left out the part where he uses a lug wrench as a shuriken

  • when i was young we used to view that film, whith our uncle(rip),we used to say that ninija live under the ground and,the qestion was how do they, could fly like birds

  • Memories...

  • The Albino Ninja

  • Man, I remember those awesome 80's Cannon films that made all us kids love ninjas.

  • LAME

  • one of my favorite movies as a kid.

  • Oh man I wish I was a kid again...

  • It takes supreme patience and years of training for a Ninja to NOT to kill you, It is that easy for a Ninja to kill you.

I was a little young for the release of this movie but saw it on cable, pure Ninjew (Ninja movie made by Jewish guys) awesomeness.

  • This looks amazing!

  • All you 1980 babies know what's up.

This movie created the love of ninjas.

I still have my 1987 picture of me in my ninja Halloween costume with eyes of a warrior, posing with my katana identical to a few of the poses Private Joe had in this movie, dude straight tore that one bad ninja dude up, even if he has little rockets coming out of his hand and a wanna be hard star tat on his eye. Private Joe catches arrows and breaks them in front if the shooters face out of spite. Totally pwnd.

  • The guy at 0:16 looks like bassist Tony Levin!

  • Mind you some of the scenes were shot in the Philippines. Some of scenes were shot in either Subic Bay or Clark Air Base before the Americans left the Philippines.

  • The movie that started everything:)

  • When I first watched this film I couldn't speak english as kid. I watched it last night 20 years later and its still awesome

  • "the adventure, the confrontation, the code, the invasion, the final hour..." - end dramatic enumeration

  • I think this movie series is the reason why don't see ninjas anymore.

  • @BurbleCut01 you just dont SEE ninjas period. Or else they a pretty lame ninja... which is an oxymoron.

  • ahaahhahaaaaa

  • classic. I was mad for any ninja film after watching this!!!

  • F*ckin RAD!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... uuuh, two words.. FUCKING TRAGIC

  • Best movie of all time!!!

  • this movie owns your ass!!!

  • Black Rambo is too funny.

  • This guy sucked so bad...

  • BEST FRIGGING MOVIE

I was so young when i saw this, just great

  • The action in this movie is AWESOME! I can watch it over and over again. Michael Dudikoff is a great hero. I wonder what happened to him. Hopefully he has invested his money well and is enjoying life.

  • American Warrior?? Its American NINJA. Michael D what a legend

  • Yeah what the hell, its not right

  • was that don lafontaine's voice (the preview guy)?

  • BEST FUCKING MOVIE EVER-dont fuck with joe

  • LOL....in the end it said.."American Warrior" wft...LOL

  • "american" ninja lol. Michael Dudikov. - is RUSSIAN ACTOR. At us In Russia it is a lot of men with correct (to measures of white race) handsome men, look at the main actor 1938 "Alexander Nevsky" who has acted in a film, Vladimir Mashkov, Andrey Hvorov look at the main actor 1991 "Deerslayer"

  • zomfg this is the best movie ever made

  • These are so bad... that they are actually really good! =D I mean you'll get so many laughs watching these =D=D=D=D Recommended!

  • Yesterday I just found, in a cult movie shop, a NEW vhs of a movie named: American Shaolin... it seems to suck real bad, check out the synopsis from IMDB:

After being humiliated in the ring by a dirty kickboxer who pulled down his shorts and then hit him, a martial arts master decides to travel to China and enter a monastery where he may learn the Shaolin form of fighting. (!!!)

  • mmmh... I don't remember such a thing, gotta check it out then!

  • amercan ninja 2 I watched that movie 3 times a day for a whole week once.

  • one guy, an American vs. over a hundred ninjas? and those guys can't beat him. yeah it was the shit back then

  • Those ninjas sucked! They were no match for...an American Ninja

  • well their training was rushed. they learned the art but they missed out on the spiritual teachings and therefore were no match for a real ninja trained since childhood. Go JOE!

  • In first grade my teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. After just watching this movie, I told that bitch I was gonna be an American Ninja and that I was going to China to kill other ninjas.

Well... I'm still young, it could happen :)

  • Don't stop believing!

  • why china? why not just stick with Japanese ninjas who betray the ninja code?

  • @CrimesonWitcher:

Because I was a child who didn't know what a "Japan" was, and I thought all asian people were Chinese. Can't blame me though, I was a five-year-old american kid.

  • aha so ther is the answer. Well it's ok you didn't know. I'd have to be an asshole to be mad at a kid.

  • @DarkoMessiah

this gotta be best comment i seen youtube since 2006 when i signed up this site. hey have you ever seen movie Beverly hills ninja?

  • @DarkoMessiah

eh Ninjas = Japan(although they may have originated in China)

Looks like a load of shit anyway but I guess it's a cult classic to Ninja fans.. I prefer genuine Ninja movies(Shinobi no mono, Owls castle etc)

  • @DarkoMessiah ninja's are Japs my friend not chinks

  • @DarkoMessiah LOL! That reminds me of this book we got in the 1st grade. I read it recently and my goal back then was to be either an astrounaut or a cowboy. A fukin cowboy yo! Im a black guy from compton. But a ghetto kid is still a kid. Anyway I used to love this when I was little but now this shit is super fuckin gay yo!!!

  • @DarkoMessiah lol! ninjas are japanese! but i still liked it!

  • @DarkoMessiah Ninjas existed in Japan.

  • @DarkoMessiah Keep the dream alive brother! You probably have better luck finding ninjas in Japan though.

  • I just realized that the electronic drum beat in the background is from the final fight scene in revenge of the ninja.

  • the pain

  • fucking a

  • looks like pure 80's awesomeness

  • It is bro, it is... I got it on VHS and I'm about to upload it real soon... check it out!

  • ..and Michael :D

  • I love this film .. :)

  • This shit is hilarious! I saw this when I was 7!

  • 0:24 The Zoolander eyes inspiration!

  • and so people start studying ninjutsu :)

  • This film NEEDS to be remade.

  • It already has and it's called G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

Happy now? If sad...not my problem.

    -R78

  • The first film is amazing but also part 2 and part 4 with Michael Dudikoff are good. Part 3 relased without Dudikoff is weak but there's no part 5. The film called "American Ninja V" is a tragedy. What a shame for the Cannon.

  • just another white guy trying to be asian

  • I just found this movie in DVD form at Blockbuster tonight for 3.99! What a steal!

  • Hahaha! I love Firstenberg's stuff, it's hilarious. The Operation Delta Force films are my favourite, just so funny.

  • anybody else have a cheese taste in your mouth after watching this

  • Dudikoff is so wooden he could play a fucking tree. Gice him a couple of cocunuts to hold and he could be even be on Lost.

  • Comment removed

  • Man I saw this movie when I was six and I still love it.

  • Man, this movie made to want to be a ninja so bad when I was a kid.

  • Me too, I would daydream bout being a Ninja at school all day long, Ahh the 80's.

  • But did you have a Ninja star as a kid?

  • I did. We had martial arts stores aplenty in the greater Philadelphia area, especially Asian World Of Martial Arts. Had me quite a few stars. Ninja flicks like these are what made the 80's cool. Thank you Stephen K. Hayes and thank you Masaaki Hatsumi!!

  • I also loved this movie when I was a kid. Classic B grade action movie. If you don't take it too seriously it is still fun to watch. Don't know what Michael Dudikoff is up to these days, but I read he was training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ! Unfortunately Steve James who starred alongside Michael Dudikoff in this and other action movies passed away in 1993 from pancreatic cancer. RIP.

  • Don Lafontain

  • 80's ninja movies are dangerous to watch. They have grown in awesomeness since they were made. If you watch them in full, the sheer awesomeness will cause your body to implode, creating a vortex to a dimension of comprised of pure Win. Everything will be sucked inside and forever live in this place of Win....except you, because you'll have imploded.

  • That was epic XD Thanks

  • Dude! have you been watching too much "Fist of the North Star"? lol!!

  • Horseshit!! There's no such thing as too much Fist of the North Star!!

  • aha! i was right. You are right, there can NEVER be too much of "Fist of the North Star" :)

  • I agree with both of these gentlemen. The "Fist of the Northstar" threshold has never been approached by any man, and people far more educated than I have posited that no such threshold exists.

  • Michael Dudikoff rules !!! In real life he'll kick Jackie Chan's ass. Cannon rules. They knew how to make real entertainment.

  • Love Mike Dudi awesome guy to be around he is funny

  • Everytime you see one of these movies it's like you're in a time machine for 90 min. You had a bad day you come home pop a Cannon Dvd or something like that in and it's all good.

  • ninja pooooooower!!!!

  • Aaaah yeah, Michael Dudikoff. He was the 80's Keanu Reeves :DD

Man, I loved this movie as a little kid, and I still feel nostalgic about it :)))

  • me too dude it was best for me xD

  • I just wanted to see what it looked like, always remember hearing Mikes name.

  • LOL IT was on Russian tv 3 days ago

it looked like cool movie for me ^^ this day new action movies in my country absolutly like American '80s actions but they not so serious

  • what ever happened to dudikoff? i actually liked some of his movies, he cudda been like a chuch norris and promote a treadclimber or some exercise machine ahhahaahahha, ne ways, great movie, classic 80s

  • This is the worst movie on earth! lol. And also the best! in that its the worst movie ever made. Dont get me wrong, i far from hate this movie. I sit and watch it with freinds and laugh! Its just they tried so hard, and what they got was cheezy at best. The action scenes were bad, the chase scenes even worse, and the acting, well... lets just say YAY for the mid 80's and cocaine! lol. Oh, and lets not forget the crack team of ninjas that attack in the middle of the afternoon in crowded areas!

  • This was one of Cannon's better movies. But i still hold a grudge against them for what they did to Superman IV.

  • DO DUDIKOFF!!! LOL!!!

  • lol ha ha

  • Great to see this old martial arts classic. Dudikoff is as expressive as a lump of wood. Some good fight scenes, including a great line, "It was an honour for him to be killed by (Black Star Ninja)"! LOL.

  • At the end of the credits it says: "Read the paperback". LOOOOOL

  • "Chuck Norris is...Michael Dudikoff in 'American Ninja'"

  • Wow this video has over 125000 views and me

thinking that i was the only living fan of the

    American Ninja movies .

  • they must to do a remake of this movie like batman now or something else its gowing to be cool:)

  • I watched this movie every weekend. When my mom took me off the bus there was a video store and I begged her to rent a movie well she was always mad as I would get this movie all the time lol. Now I am trying to find it on blue ray!

  • 80's movies rule, especially martial arts movies. American Ninja 1 was the only good one out of all of them.

  • THE INVASION...

    THE FINAL HOUR...

    lulz

  • This was the only good American ninja movie.

  • Jesus, I thought I was the only one who thought this movie was completely bad ass. I guess I was wrong. Yes it's cheesy as hell but it's SOOOO damn delicious.

I just loved the pure awesomeness of this movie. We need a new ninja movie...I grow bored of not having ninja's around as much in movies any more.

  • Totally a cheese fest. Lovit

  • I used to watch this movie as much as possible when I was a kid. I still like to watch it now on occasion.

This is, hands down, the best film ever made about ninjas.

  • I consider this to be one of the best of the eighties. Actually one of the best ninja films of all time. Of course it's cheesy and un-realistic, but it's also fun and involving. I wonder how many people say this growing up and wanted to be a Ninja. . I know I did.

  • yeaaah i love this movie :-)

  • 80's MA movies rule.

  • haha i remember this from when I was a kid. I loved this movie back then.
