goldrusher can i keep 2 young ranchus in a 10 gallon tank? it said in a book i could keep four in a ten gallon but i think thats a bit too many for a ten gallon
Ranchu, in my opinion, are the cutest fish! They have a great personality as well! I saw some in a pet store and put my finger to the glass, and the sweet little guy was swimming in place and swimming in place until finally he moved forward to put its little face up against the glass. I fell in love! They are so cute!! They remind me of little chubby children, they are precious!
This is appalling. Nothing should be raised to look like that. It's internally crippled, and can't evn live a comfortable life. It's bad enough people put animals in shows, but this kind of extreme domestication... I mean, can't you guys even see that this is wrong?

Goldfish, even the fancy goldfish you hate so, are only crippled internaly when kept in improper environments, as in less than at least 10 gallons per fancy goldfish and at least 20 gallons for a common, comet or shubunkin. These show goldfish are abviously well cared for, with ample swimming space, and proper nutrition.
yeah but often people buy them who don't take care of them well.
also i think the point here is that nothing should be bred to the extent that it relies on humans so much.
another thing is that instead of breeding these animals for aesthetic features, the breeders should instead be using their abilities for science and medicine.
this is a calico ranchu goldfish entered by choo wei luen of malysia.,its his 2nd consecutive goldfish aquarama grand champion title., 8.5 inches .,its kept in a round pond.,they bought it from china last year where it is about 6.5 inches by then.,

@petstoreguy12 One is all you can put in a 10 gallon for fancy varieties.
10 gallon per goldfish with 15x filtering gallons per hour per gallon of water.
This will ensure proper filtration and happy fish!

That's a beautiful Ranchu. I have a calico that has a perfect body but not much cranial growth yet. I'm hopeing for a very nice looking adult fish
