You know, Oleg Vasiliev and Sasha Zhulin basically killed her skating career. She is now getting back in shape, but I think she will soon quietly disappear fromt the amateur ranks.
She says she loves to skate and she thinks every year at the end she could be better in the next season if she tries harder. No matter how she ends her career, her passion for skating & ability to stay in the world-class competitive level for so long command respect. She will be twenty-nine this year and challenge again for the coming Olympics. I salute the gutsy spirit of her.
Her former coaches, as you might know. Whatever they did to her just didn't work. Check back when her performance "dipped," and you'll see these names. Whatever it is that they did w/ her, she was worse off in every aspect of skating while being coached by either one of these two...jumps, spins, performance levels, choreography, etc.
The best performances seem to come when Fumie is being coached by Nobuo Sato, Kumiko Sato, etc. We have yet to see what Morozov does for her...
amazing...
