I really would like to join the army band. Is it difficult to pass through the auditions? I'm not that good in sight reading. Please reply. Oh, BTW I'm in college, I play the clarinet and I'm 17 years old.
The local Salvation Army bands are open for anyone to play in (usually.) However, most SA bands are exclusive to brass instruments. I have known corps to make exceptions for other instuments before, so if you ask your local corps they may allow it.
P.S. They may ask you to become a soldier after playing for a while.
Forget the shopping centre noise...this lad plays it very well. It is a FANTASTIC arrangement..wonder who did it? It must be OK as James Morrison has played it with the Melbourne Salvation Army Band.
umm well there rnt really any auditions to get into the army band, but i think u hv 2 b part of da Salvation Army before u can join it thou. but at some of the churchs they hv Learner Bands where u cn lrn 2 play 1 of da brass instruments nd then they can ask for u to join the senior band, just go ask the nearst Salvo church, they could teach u how to play it and possibly allow u in to the band..but yea theres no auditionss to my knowledge
i was brought up in the salvation army to become a band memeber you have to be saved and wear the uniform and be able to read music

llord: This IS a brass band! Look at the instrumentation. Maybe not enough vibrato for you, Americans tend to play with a straight tone.
