  • It discourages Gov. budget deficit unless the money goes to health, education or infrastructure, but it does not say the deficit should be funded from the private markets.

Even if Gov fund their deficit from Bank of Canada, or in other words printing money like "ReplublicodCanada" suggests, it will also increase the interest rates and it will also increase the inflation in the country.

  • @1209mnbv no it will not cause inflation because during the period of 1938-1975 when we did this there was no problem with inflation. The money is either created by the central bank or by private banks. The issue is how much interest gets attached to the money. These excessive interest rates are the cause of our debt in Canada which is now out of control. I suggest you read "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" to get a sense of just how much all this debt was caused on purpose.

  • First of all, you have not understand what is Washington Consensus. Originally formed to address continue economic dis functions in Latin american countries, It is extremely basic economic concept that was introduced to show the "common denominators" for economic prosperity in developing countries.

It is not a secret agenda for over take the world, instead it is merely a set of facts driven from fast growing economies structural changes.

  • good vid, keep it up guys

  • Geez, if you thought you had debt before today, just wait and see the long term effects of taking in 100,000 Haitians into your country. They will breed like flies and in 10 years they will multiply to 1,000,000 and in another 20 to 10,000,000 etc etc. and they will all be claiming social security. I kid you not.

    Canada is fucked mate. Emigrate.

  • Hey Man, I just met you friend Karen. It's crazy what she explained to us about this whole Federal Reserve being involved in Canada 2. Get back to me

  • The Washington Consensus was formalized in 1989. How therefore could Canada have been following it in 1970?

Is there proof behind Confessions of an Economic Hitman? Is it really plausible that John Williamson, the English economist who wrote the Washington Consensus, intended for Washington to control the world? The Washington Consensus was intended for developing countries, why would Canada need to implent it? The intrest rate is set by the bank of Canada. I've wasted my time.

  • The term "Washington Consensus" was coined in 1989 the policies had been in effect for some time already. These policies have been applied worldwide, not just in developing countries. Argentina was not a developing country in the 1970s.

  • Well done CPR
