  • Explosion of emotion! ;) But seriously this dude has been my GOD since I grew big!

  • One person missed the like button.

  • Itzhak Perlman didnt play in this vid!!! it is not his style!!!

  • @branresjo i agree with you. this recording is questionable.

  • @MrStalker66 What the hell is questionable...?

Thats Itzhak Perlman/Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra with André Previn.

    Nothings fuckin questionable.

Sit back and enjoy this unbelievable recording

  • like how sexy is perlman

  • 5:02

    6:20 i like

  • 1 dislike? Go away Bieber!

  • quien fue el maldito que puso no me gustaa ?? ... ¬¬ se nota que no sabee de musicaaa !! este señor es el maestroo del violin !! :D:D tocoo violin hace 4 y el es mi ejemplo a seguir !!

  • Perlman is my favorite kike(^v^) Music is alive in this man. He makes me feel at peace. He loves us.

  • damn. I wish I could hear the other movements by Perlman.

  • Stunning! Icy cool and at the same time absolutely on fire. Why make comparisons when you have a performance as a convincing as this one in front of you, simply enjoy it. The next convincing performance that you encounter will be just as convincing without having to dismantle this one.

  • @Hachechulo Because we are musicians. We have to dismantle each work. We have to decide which soloist interpreted the intentions of the piece better. Perlman delicately places each note with care while Shaham practically beats it out of his instrument. Perhaps in another work Perlman's interpretation was superior.

We cannot improve the craft unless we analyze it.

  • This is wonderful!!! Perlman is absolutely in a category onto himself.

I also really love Gil Shaham's interpretation. And there's an old recording of David Oistrakh playing this that, in my humble opinion, cannot be touched. There's a live performance of Shaham playing this on YouTube - check it out! I highly recommend it.

  • @novasafo I like Shaham's interpretation better. Perlman is fantastic, but there is something a little more raw and intense in Shaham's version that I am drawn to.

  • @seattlegrrlie This is definitely a piece that works well in a raw and intense interpretation! Check out the David Oistrakh live recording here on youtube. it's so intense, that when I heard it for the first time years ago, it made the hair on my arms stand up.

  • i liked it, but i prefer the hilary hahn's version, is.. umm.. i don't know, but i liked it more than perlman's xD

    hehe, thanks!

  • I would like to falcon punch the one "dislike" on this video.

    Good day.

  • Heifetz kills this.

    Recorded in December of 1935:

    watch?v=gX51CDBXAwo

  • i would have loved to see how he moves his stubby fingers to play this -

    ust superb!

  • which cys are u talking about

  • Perlman is my hero!!!

  • When was this recorded/ played?

  • Right, there is a reason he is the best, she ranks up there, but is below him a few steps, in another league. She ranks more with Bell and Hahn,

  • I agree with you but what i don't understand is why Joshua Bell is so much more famous than Perlman

  • @violin12395 He definitely isnt more famous than Perlman...

  • @violin12395 he's not.

  • it's the best interpretation Sibelius vc of all

  • I have an old vinyl with a copyright date of 1976, with Perlman playing Sibelius Violin Concerto. Going to try and get it autographed when he comes to play in Seattle which is coming up. :D

  • I love siblius Concertos, itzhak perlmans playing some parts a bit out , i mean a bit , as compared to Sarah Chang, an example will be at 2.27 - 2.30 , a minor , but he's still one of the best V.Violinist in my mind.

  • You can't put Perlman and Chang on the same level at all. Perlman's musicianship and technique are far better. There's also a recording of Chang goofing up on the Mendelssohn violin concerto. Perlman has won nine grammy's and had Kennedy center honors in 2003. Chang by herself is amazing but you can't possibly compare her to Perlman.

  • I totally agree with you!!!Perlman's playings are full of passion and perfection!!!

  • Why can't you compare one to the other, especially when you are comparing just a particular performance of a work.

  • @Violinchick27 I think Chang is great, but to compare her to Itzhak is sacrilege! Maybe Hillary would be much, much closer, but she still has quite a way to matching Perlman's contribution to the form and definition of the word "Master".

  • @Violinchick27

Just like you can't compare Perlman to Oistrakh. Same analogy, but on Oistrakh's side.

  • @CardsAsWeapons i totally agree

  • i would have to agree 3000% with violinchick 27, perlman cannot be touched, especially when compared to sarah chang, they are light years apart.

  • Sure!!!Perlman is the greatest violinist, by now.Among many violinist nowadays, many are incomparable with Perlman.

  • dont even mention sarah chang in the same chapter as perlman. She is good but not in the same class as Itzy. He was one of the top 5 violinists of the 20th century.

  • excuse me. I would want to know, who is the best violinist of the 20the century, if that person is not perlman. For me, perlman is really good indeed.

  • @malidiviolina That said, then you should get your hearing checked.

    watch?v=gX51CDBXAwo

  • Kogan, Heifetz, Szeryng, Oistrakh, Milstein

  • freaking amazing.

  • brings back memories of when i played in the california youth symphony for our soloist, ashley lau. although ashley was amazing and hearing her play it sent shivers down my spine, the level of skill that perlman brings is unrivaled

thanks for the upload. i've been looking for videos of all the movements of this piece :)

  • Best interpretation of Sibelius that I`ve heard so far.

    Wicked good. BRAVO!

  • AMAZING.

  • Others seem to leave out notes even. He doesnt. The best I have heard so far. Thanks

  • Couldn't have said it any better..

This is by far, my favorite interpretation.

    Perfection. Absolute perfection.

  • Oh my God.

  • se escucha un violin muy potente será cierto que Perlman tiene el mejor violin del mundo?

  • perlaman tiene un stradivari mui raro si :)
