To all of you who think he was just a boozer such as kellygreen5555 this is a man who in his prime had 3 number 1 box office films playing at the same time and has since been noted as the great cinematic giant of his generation! Oliver Reed was not only a man of incredible charisma and charm but had that one thing that few actors posess - real screen presence - and in bucket loads! He was and will always be a legend of the screen despite his drinking off it! A true genius and genuine person. I
Lol, i got the impression towards the end he was pulling the interviewers leg up and getting a kick out of it. Strikes me that he was a bit of a wind up merchant back in his day. But at heart a decent guy as well as a great actor! RIP Oliver!
4:36- beyond, he brought a tear to my eyes. here is a man who drank and knew how to drink. here is a man who did it gracefully and was not afraid to do it dying gracefully
Great actor great character the guy is so funny makes you wonder sometimes is he just over acting his drunked state suppose only he knew I love to see this side of him missed by many god bless you man.
How does the interviewer expect to get a decent interview by showing such disrespect? And does he really expect Oliver not to notice this? It's to Oliver's credit that he was as polite as he was in the face of such condescension.

Ah, Ollie, Richards and Peter. What a bunch of unique human beings. I love em and I try my best to learn from them. Learn what? That life should not be taken too seriously -lets drink and have a bloody good time!
All i can do is wish that i was born 30 years earlier, i would have loved to see first - hand what life was like back in the 60's and 70's. Oliver Reed is a legend and shining example of none - conformity that we may never see again.
I have been thinking about Ollie for about three months now, as I have read many book on him and have watched many of his films and I have drawn the conclusion that he was a true legend of our Great Isles. He LOVED, LOVED, LOVED LIFE. He knew the art of "Having a Good Time" and knew the cost of such undertakings. He knew the consequences of his madness and he never apologised for being Oliver Reed, only for getting the dose or timing wrong of his deeds. He was a great man. Remember him.
what a hero..ollie reed...such an educated man...with such a great outlook on life....one sip of a drink in this whole interview.. but yet its posted (drinking uncut)... he speaks from his heart..so much stories to tell and what a comedian....he's watching us all from heaven

This is almost unwatchable. For everyone who thinks it would have been fun to get drunk with Reed, this is evidence to show that he just became a boring, rambling, incoherent man.
Have you read the new book out about oli and the others called Hell raisers, it's unbelievable ! There was something very special about Oliver Reed, he was a real one off
You definitely should, its about Oli, Richard Harris, Burton and Peter O'Toole . I've only got eyes for Oliver but it's a great read. Enjoy your wine !
@SirOllyBolly Old Olly was a great character, drunk as a skunk most of the time. He never admittted he was drunk, plucking nonsensical phrases from his mind as an answer to questions..he talked a lot of old bollocks really but was a British icon. We need more guys like old Olly.

@spallyman Holy shit! You were the interviewer? My god at 40 secs you get to have a drink with Oliver Reed! Very jelous lol! I bet its great to say that you once had a drink with the great Oliver Reed. Good interview by the way.
My point is that Oliver Reed was a fascinating film actor, and this interview is conducted by a fucking dunderhead who seems not to appreciate anything other than his own self-importance.
This chump had the opportunity to talk with Reed, a difficult subject maybe, yet still fell into the obvious tabloid swamp of taking the piss.
What's even more tragic about this interviewer is that he didn't even know the film Reeds was referring to, where he played a werewolf. I mean honestly, if you're going to interview someone, do some basic research on their career; don't show up like a self-important pisshead with an over-inflated ego. We all got the blatant drinking joke when the interviewer continually said, "Cheers." But for shit sake, give it a rest and let the man enjoy his drink without your condescending remarks.
When I die I want to rest eternally in a nice pub with Ollie Reed, Orson Welles, Richard Harris, Dylan Thomas, Marylin Munroe, Ingrid Bergman and Janis Joplin. The landlords would be Humprey Bogart and Lauren Bacall and all of the drinks and smokes would be free of course!
