I don't have fybromyalgia, but the drug melatonin helps me relax my muscles. And my anxiety. If I'm physically calmer,I'll fall asleep. Its available at drug stores for a couple bucks. You may want to talk to your doctor though, because you take other medicine.Just for safety.I guess the affect of drugs, depends on the person though.Best of luck.
I suffer from RLS which is similar to fibro, but not painful just annoying (for me anyway). Doctor put me on 50mg Amitriptyline a day, which helps me to sleep. Also I take iron tablets - But the one that did the most was a vitamin B complex suppliment I would high recommend you try it - the one I was lacking specifically was vitamin B6 apparently!
I stopped at 52 secs and think you are already adorable..Just thought I would say as I know where your vid may lead..Beautiful Interesting girl. Tourretts clearly! me not you.
My heart goes out to you *so* much. I just made a video with my fibro tips. I've had fibro for 12 years. Hope they can you help you or someone else, even if just a bit. Wish you all the best.
@aprilskies22 Well done for making a video too lovely, its a good way to spread awarness and let people know how to help. Sending you gental hugs :) x
I also have Fibro and it fricken SUCKS!!!! I'm always EXHAUSTED, as if I've just run a marathon, yet I've been on the computer all day doing nothing. My pain seems to be in cycles. Don't know if yours is?? I take Amitriptyline and it worked WONDERS for about a month, then back came the stiffness, pain & fatigue. Pain pills suck cause they just make me tired or nauseous, so that's not the answer, Anyone else approach you with any other options?? Just wanted you to know you weren't alone. :)
@jamezblonde1 Pain pills do the same to me too which is really anoying. Sadly since making this video, I havnt found anything amazing that really works sorry. Thanks for the message :) x
you would be better off taking something called spa-tone rather than the iron tablets as they are known to constipate plus have lower absorbtion rate than the spa tone, which is basically just water. it comes in boxes of 14 or 28 and its daily sachets of water which is rich in iron, it comes from an ancient roman spa in wales i think. you can get in health food shops aswell as holland and barett. as for sleep can they not give you diazepam or something?
@TheMrmoonlight Tbh I havnt been to see my doctor in a long time. I hate going and have been through about 6 doctors in the last few years so I havnt asked about sleeping tablets in a while. But next time I go I will ask about those tablets thanks. I have to be carefull with most things though as I have reactions to alot of drugs :S
i would just take the amitriptyline ,, only when in pain- at my worst not every day ... i smoke weed for the most part and see the doctor and get treatment you see the doctor toll you that you have sore musles and bones I have seen headdoctors pain doctor catscan xray ect for 30years yea before they give it a name.good walks,, fishing ,good food will help and friends get out have some fun save the drugs for the next day you know what i mean,, you have doctors you should see them
@XforeverlongingX Its a illness which is like a chronic fatigue and chronic pain illness in one. You get muscle and joint pains all the time and cant sleep. Look it up
I have been on the following for the same fibro and bi polor schizophrenic with nu apathy in both feet major pain s 1 2 3 back surgery went bad . I take the following 800mg seraquel 4 mg klopin 300mg zoloft and 12 other meds including 60mg morphine every 8 hr . I take a new drug for fibro call Lyrica it is the best for Fibro and nurapathy . I suggest you try it if you have a good pain management doctor.
exercise like a motherfucker. if you can make it through the first month and do atleast a hour a day 5 out of 7 you'll be amazed. i dropped all that shit, most of the "new" fibro meds are GHB analouges, they work by interrupting the nervous system's pain communication system via the cns. the body will produce endorphines and enkephailins and ananimide (endocannibonoids) in response to a regular workout routine, the best is running though. goodluck with it
Watch it with the drugs, i started 3 weeks ago on the amytriptaline 10mg but apparently my body has already become resistive to it, so they've upped the doseage to 25mg. Since starting the 25mg I seem to get pins and needles all over now on top of the pain and all I can think is its another random drug side effect.
Take care Ally and all of u with fibro, try not to languish on it all it will just eat u up and make things worse.
@MrDeathsbite I have been on amytriptaline for about a year now, I had trouble with it as christmas cause I was on a stupidly high dose and it made me have fits and collaps. But Im on 25mg now and it seems to be ok for me now.
I hate trying different tablets and I hate it when the docs want me to experiment with new ones cause it messes me up so bad. So atm Im sticking with what Im on untill I get worse if that makes sense.
Thanks you for your kind words and your help again :) xx
@MrDeathsbite I think it's an individual thing with drugs of this sort. I've been on Ami for over a year. I started on 25mg, with rapid progression of dosage up to a high of 175mg with no discernable side effects. I have cycled this down again (and do so periodically to prevent my body becoming too immune to its effects) to 100mg. Good luck.
I don't have Fibromyalgia but I I do suffer from depression and insomnia. For my depression I take the generic of Prozac which is Fluoxetin. I take 50mg of that. For my insomnia I take the generic of Ambien which is Zolpidem (10-30mg). Usually I'm asleep within 30 minutes of taking the Zolpidem. It is extremely helpful. I hope I was able to help you in any way.
@SoSophisticate Thanks hun, you have been helpful. I have been on Fluoxetin before but it coursed problems for me, but i will ask about going on Zolpidem next time i go see my doctor.
If you have alot of aches, I have found a tens unit helpful as well as lithoderm patches. When using the lithoderm patch, cut them into 1/4 pieces and place them scattered on different limbs. I always use at least 2 of these patches on the right leg placed at different angles. I have also found salonpas (overthecounter patches) helpful.
I would love to know myself what will help with sleep. I haven't slept in 2 years and the bags under my eyes are getting deeper and deeper. Hopefully they will find a cure soon, big gentle hugs.
thanks for the vid! Keep going youre a pretty and intelligent girl. Looking at CBT and REBT really helped me with ME. good luck
