I can still relive the new car smell of my father's brand new Olympic gold 1969 Chevy Caprice, as this song was playing on the car radio. I was 15 years old. Those were "my" Grass Roots!
WHY DOES IT FEEL LIKE IT WILL TAKE THIS LONG FOR THE RIGHT ONE. WHEN I SEEM TO BE HAVING THINGS WORK OUT IT FALLS APART. NO POINT IN REALLY TRYING. A TOTAL WASTE. JUST GO MY WAY AND DO FOR ME ONLY. FED UP WITH THESE TEARS AND FAILURES. I DON'T DESERVE THIS CRAP. CHEERS TO THOSE WHO SUCCEED. TIME TO MOVE ON.
Okay, this was one of those songs I was a little tite growing up and heard. This was the song I always sang for the guy I always wanted. This song is tough..tenacious. That's me!!!

@greg8698 how witty of you. now is not the best time for rock music but you specifically point to rap. I believe this has absolutely nothing to do with your message.
this is a good song, but for you to place the blame with such a simple, unthinking blanket statement is kind of mind blowing.

Now this is Music to lift up the spirits and words to think about.. Back then most songs had a message.. Todays youth has to suffer from medicore music.. Not all is bad but not as uplifting as this song is..
Great vocals, great song, good quality recording! I was a kid when this hit the charts and still would rather listen to this than anything else. It was a hippy, happier time for me.
@katgrateful - I was a kid too, crazy for Top 40 radio, and it was indeed a happier time. But then we were just kids, taking no notice of war or social problems, though they did exist, but at least the music was great and so were the cars.
i watched a skate video and dave B. was skating to this song. since that day, i downloaded this song on my mp3, and this pumps me up while skate. fuck yeah. i'm so glad i found this song. good songs never gets old, bitch.

@greg8698 A lot of people would argue that but I completely agree, I hate growing up with the stuff today...disgrace to music

Now this is Music to lift up the spirits and words to think about.. Back then most songs had a message.. Todays youth has to suffer from medicore music.. Not all is bad but not as uplifting as this song is..

Hi, consider adding "stereo" to the title or description. This is much better than the other posted ones.

Wonderful song from when there were no synthesizers, just big, clunky organs, and innovative guitar players. I always liked the beat of this song!
