i've heard of people using it, i would google it for recipes on how to make it strong enough! but just know, it probably wont come out as dark, it is food coloring, thats why they make different types of dyes for different things
What do you suggest for the colors running together when you rinse them? I love the pattern but then during the rinse process the colors take over the white area and bleed together. How can I stop this from happening so that I can have the white space and no bleeding? Thank you!
I watched this and the other video after I dyed the shirts, and we used the same kit. Being my first time tie dying, I didn't know about the soda ash. This is similar to another question, but for some reason I feel the need to ask it anyway.
Do you again recommend leaving them for 48 hours?
Also, I didn't realize I was supposed to keep them damp, and just let them sit out. Three or four hours later I put them into gallon sized bags, what difference will it make that I didn't seal them sooner?
Is Soda ash the same as Baking Soda? Because I used Baking Soda when I was working at a camp and it ended up fine. It was a tad light because it was my first ever dye and I didn't use enough. But will Baking Soda work if I use it instead?
its not the same, i have heard of people using it though. I dont use it just because i love soda ash, but it is up to you because like i said, i have heard of people using it!
thank you very very much!!! my entire sorority is getting together tomorrow to do this and i have never ever tie dyed before (and Im in charge of it!) this was so helpful. :)
if the kit says you dont need soda ash, i would say leave the dye on more like 48 hours, but soda ash does help the chemical reaction so it really helps make the shirts look colorful
Wow! I know this isn't a qustiong but I am doing my first tie-dye shirt tonight and I just want to say thank you for your video it was so awesome and helpful. I did have a question about the soda ash but this video covered it. So thanks again and I look forward to more videos!

what if like you don't have soda ash and you leave the dye longer will that help the shirt coming out not so light?

For the first cycle (the cold-low wash), can I wash other JUST dyed shirts with it? Or do they all need to be separate for the first wash?
