  • why break 2 times when you stop ?

what about the neutral speed ?

    where is neutral speed??

  • This seems like the type of thing you'd learn from trick riding. It would enable you to make very tight turns like this more confidently than without. I need a BIKE!!! =*(

  • i want a motorcycle but im only 13 so thats that f*cked

  • @IPWNNOOBSTHATCAMP Atleast your playing CoD for the time being :D

  • they taught this method for slow turning at my msf class it really works and is kind of fun to practice and really master. At the class we had to enter a marked box through an entrance do circles and exit through a marked exit spot . Those msf classes are legit.

  • @carpenter751 i just wish they gave us the option to practice on a 250cc sports bike, the cruisers aren't helping me learn at all with my sports bike.

  • The only time you ever counter sit is if you are about to run of the road, get transfixed on the white line and hang off the side of the bike that the line is opposite to so you can get off the white line easier. If you really want to learn the basics pay a little bit of money and go and do a california superbike school. They teach you everything you need to know for the road and taught me everything I need to know for the race track. :)

  • Good video, I currently have a cruiser but my next bike will be a superbike so this was very useful.

  • i recommend you practice this with the clutch fully in and the with the throttle maxed!

  • very good info.. TQVM buddy! I almost drop my bike yesterday doing the opposite way.. LOL

  • This guy forgot to add that you should ALWAYS look in the direction you wanna go and in this case its over your shoulder, you cant see a car in ur mirror when its in your dead angle, plus when doing this you can make the slow turn twice as short because only noobs look down when driving a bike!!!

  • it is not the same technic like when you want to lean the bike in a fast speed without so much turning the handle bar of the bike into the direction you want to go....! Going into a curve with fast speed you want to make sure you are leaning your body into the same direction you want to go. Don't mix up the two thing of slow turn and high speed into the curve.,,,!

  • thx for the tip.

  • Gay !

  • This video needs to be removed because its going to get someone injured badly. Counter sit what kinda BS is that.

  • @wise185 lol!

  • @Zappatx damn right!

  • It's more fun on a Moto Guzzi!!

  • is that a cbr?

  • I'm 17 and just got my licence. I wanna get a motorcycle but i'm not sure if i should. My mom says i shouldn't. Well, actually she forbids that i do. But i love bikes so much. I'm also kind of scared because i have a friend in my church who was in an accident, and he will never walk again. He's in an electric wheelchair 24/7. I also know several other people who have died or have been hurt in accidents. Anyone have any advice for me?

  • @crazypersonlol34 If you feel you aren't ready for it then maybe you should wait. Take intermediate/advanced courses in the future to sharpen your skills. If or when you do get that bike, respect the rules of the road, safety regulations, and dont do something you know you could possibly regret in the future. And always wear a helmet no matter how comfortable you may be with riding, If you do this it will be a fun experience. Just think, maybe waiting is better for you at this moment.

  • now what's considered a "fast" and "slow" turn as in MPH?

  • @bojacks123 I'd say in the ballpark of 15 mph. After that, you start noticing the effect of things like counter steering more. I'm sure as you practice you will get a feel for what technique is best at different speeds.

  • @QNeville ohh thanks man

  • Counter sitting is a good addition to counter-leaning as it can help get the bike over into a lean to initiate the slow turn. Adding the counter sit to your upper body lean seams like a good idea.

Still - I would have trouble listening to an instructor who doesn't wear full gear.

And yes you have to be aware of the ground, as you have to be ready for loose gravel etc., even when you put your foot down when you stop.

  • @ZedZedArr Why would the instructor's lack of gear affect your learning in any way? Are you that impressionable?

And don't say it's like a driving instructor not wearing a seat belt.

  • great i was actually listen so i heard the double left and was like what like what but i get what u mean.

  • I got dizzy performing this and fell.. ._. great practice though! :D

  • What do you mean by, "brake brake"? Are you applying the front brake first and then the rear brake second rather than at the same time? Thanks for the vids.

  • Wow thanks I've learn something new thanks to your video. I'm a first timer and I'm not really that good at counter sitting. I'm still having hard time controlling the clutch and the throttle. what would be your best advice to help me out.

  • @g9concept hey i find it easier to find a buddy with a manual car and try it out with a method i call "stop and go" like find a nice neighborhood and then get as far over and then stop. so now the car is on ur in first gear with the clutch fully activated (pushed in) and find the area where the vehicle starts to go without any gas just the clutch then get used to that and when u do, start adding a little gas each time right when the car starts movin. if the vehicle starts to stall push in clutch

  • @g9concept Don't fixate on how much throttle you're giving it. Throttle doesn't really matter. Hell you can pin the throttle if you really want to. What matters is that you use the CLUTCH to control how much power is transferred to your rear wheel.

  • You should never look DOWN when riding. You should ALWAYS look where you want the bike to go.

Don't listen to this idiot. He has NO CLUE.

  • @geritolwhamfan

When did he ever say to look down?

  • @srb257 He said and I quote, "look a little bit at the ground" You should keep your head and eyes up. This guy is an idiot.

  • @geritolwhamfan "You don't want to be looking at the ground" thats what he really said, you are an idiot.

  • @1337shellc0der You are correct and I stand corrected. My mistake.

  • how come almost every time u look at a bike 1 light seems out

  • @mrtolduso because, motorcycles have a low beam that should always be on when the engine is on, thus the one light. Bikes lights are either high or low beam.

  • All the counter sitting in the world won't U-Turn my bike in a reasonable space. Bloody thing has a low-speed turning circle like a battleship.

  • No offense, but you can make much much much muchhhhh smaller circles with this technique..

  • what bike is that ?

  • @ Tdotballer01

    It's a honda CBR

  • if you didn't master bicycles and wanna start on scooter then you're in for a lot of spill....or worst... you might save on gas,, but even 1 very bad spill all your savings will go to hospital bills and more.. lol.... happy riding :)

  • Actually nevermind, I get the feeling you are incapable of learning and receiving information.

You were right, bikes turn sharper if they are leaned over further, nothing to do with weight transfer and centripetal forces.

I suggest, if you have a sharp right hand corner, you should lean your body to the left, this will mean you can lean the bike harder into the corner.

Try this at fast speeds for maximum benefit, the faster the better.

  • Obviously you don't own a real bike, try it on your pedal bike.

Lean your body to one side, and lean the bike to the other.

As if by magic, the bike will be leaning over, but still going in a straight line!

    Amazing I know.

  • Also if you are confused as to WHY people counterweight at low speeds, it's because you can do faster turns from side to side, if you don't need to transfer your own body weight.

Moving your body weight around is slower, if you keep your body weight centralized and only move the bike weight, you can do quicker and more nimble turns.

The max turn limit is lower, the bike is leaned over more, reducing traction. At low speed this isn't a huge problem. But it's still a fact to consider.

  • Try this when your old enough to legally ride a bike, hang off the bike to one side, and lean the bike over to the other. Try balance it out so the bike is going straight, and not turning.

If you manage this, it proves you are wrong and have no idea how bike turning works.

If it doesn't work, I am wrong and being a dumbass.

Maybe someone else can test it and let us know who is right?

  • ROFL, now it's obvious you don't ride...don't try to explain to riders how to ride when you don't....I'm not gonna further entertain your idiotic pen, paper, should work theories

  • word to all geniuses .... commenting on this vids...guys ride a bike first before u criticize the man......

hmm as someone said u dont have to do this but it looks way cooler than just turning the bike with ur foot down

and hw many of u knw that slow maneuvering skills actually improve our fast maneuvering skills ??

    well the video helped....me ;)

  • This is rubbish! You don't have to do this on a motorcycle to turn it. No one hs ever been taught that to pass their test doing a u-turn.

  • @Xzibit8080 this is just a good excersize to teach people to turn in tight spaces...parking garages/lots etc.

  • @Xzibit8080 moron.

  • @Xzibit8080 was it a sport bike?

  • you would be surprised to know what people have NOT been taught to pass their test

  • omamder5 omg dude u're wrong

  • this guy says lean off the left oth fuckin times....guess u dont need much to be an expert

    ...smh

  • does this help to make sharper turns?

  • killer2600 is right!!

  • fuccin thx!!!!!! xx

  • i agree with campag1979 your right.... coz hes using a fast bike not just a fast bike its a real sports bike it means speed, the guy whos pretending to be an expert is supposed to ride a bmx bike not a sportsbike

  • Totally wrong!!!!

If you lean to the left you move the centre of gravity to the left which means you have to lean the bike further to the right to get round.

If he lent in the direction of the turn he could keep the bike upright at that speed.

The laws of physics don't change, you lean off in the diection on the turn whether you're doing 100mph or 5mph.

Will somebody please buy this clown a copy of 'Twist of the wrist 2' by Keith Code!

  • wow. don't pretend that you know anything about the laws of physics after typing that load of bullshit.

    sigh....

  • Hmm, not sure. I'll admit I don't have much experience but when making slow turns (the key word being SLOW), it's necessary to balance the bike by keeping your body upright or even leaning the other way. It isn't the lean per se that's causing you to move to the left or the right, it's the point of contact on your tyres (that's why we lean in the first place), but at low speed you don't have the speed to keep you off the ground if you're leaning with the bike.

  • if you don't know there are 2 ways to turn a bike, then YOU are a danger in the streets.

  • You obviously don't ride nor do you know all the physics you think you do.

If you lean into a slow turn you'll either go down or go wide. Your weight will make it easier to succumb to gravity or you'll keep the bike mostly upright and make a wide turn (bikes turn sharper the more they are leaned).

If you counter-weigh the bike you can lean the bike over more and make a sharper turn at slow speeds

There's no such thing as counter-sitting, who thought that one up?

  • @killer2600 sounds to me that counter-sit = counter weigh.

  • @killer2600 "(bikes turn sharper the more they are leaned)."

That is so wrong it's unreal. The reason why you lean into corners to go faster, is so your bike stays more upright and doesn't skid over.

The reason racers hang off bikes to turn faster, keeps bike upright to maintain traction.

Bikes do not turn by how far they are leaned over, they turn by following the weight.

Test it Lean to one side and lean the bike opposite side, bike carry on straight line, but it leaning to 1 side.

  • I'm sorry but your not right and I'm so not wrong it's not even funny. Before you try explaining how bikes and the physics behind them work maybe you should be a rider and know how physics work.

  • @killer2600 Bikes turn due to centrifugal force. This comment is total bullcrap:

"If you counter-weigh the bike you can lean the bike over more and make a sharper turn at slow speeds"

Bikes will turn sharper, if more weight is on one side. If you counter-weight a bike to make the weight balanced on both sides, the bike will be leaning over, but still traveling in a straight line.

This is highschool physics, go do some research before you make yourself look an even bigger fool.

  • i personally havent heard of counter sitting, but its pretty much the same thing as leaning to the opposite side of the direction you are turning. campag has no clue what he is talking about. If you lean in the direction you are turning, you will put ur foot down, or even fall. If you are doing a slow turn left, you must lean your body to the right.

  • @sparz14 right on

  • You're right, physics don't change, thats why you do what he says lol, when going slowly, if you sit on the left side while turning left, YOU WILL FALL OVER, its physics. When going fast you lean don't necessarily need to bother with sitting on one side or the other because the speed keeps the bike upright and you need the extra weight for a turn.

You've obviously never ridden a bike.

  • No, YOU"RE wrong. I have read twist of the wrist 2, thanks very much. You do not lean into the turn at 5 mph, just as you do not countersteer at 5 mph per hour, because it becomes very useless at such a slow speed, not to say that it changes the way it acts, but it becomes very unstable. Do you see people knee dragging on slow u turns? Of course not! Have you even ridden a bike before?

  • you drove a little bit fast for "slow" turns.. when i took my license my "slow speed" was just enuogh to balance the bike.. bearly moving.. and then drive pass several cones..

  • slow turns are much harder than they appear..

  • slow riding is harder than fast riding because you need more balance.

  • its just like turning a bicycle....except heavier...but thats why u got teh throttle

  • @metsuri69 yes an the heavier the bike the worse it is.

  • @metsuri69 da er du noob

  • @metsuri69 Must be! There are lots of videos of new mc. riders attempting to turn at low speeds but going straight and dumping their bikes.

  • Very good. Thanks.

  • good job dude

    thanks

  • I think you said to lean to the left when turning left, but said lean left when turning to the right. As it is counter, then you should lean right when turning left. Probably just a spoken mistake. Great vids non the less.

  • thank you so much for making these videos :)

  • First comment yay... Nice video too.

I wish I had a motorcycle but I'm underage and don't have enough money and don't have any clue how to do any thing with motorcycles
