  • Were there parts cut out of this version? I remember watching this when I was younger at my grandparents house on their VHS tapes, and I specifically remember Sarah telling Becky she sometimes pretended that Minchin was just a jester of sorts and if she ever tired of her she could just have her head chopped off. She ended this by saying "The thought is very comforting..."

Of course, I might have just missed that part at some point if it was here on the youtube episodes.

  • Love Rachel Portman's score!

  • My uncle knows Miriam Margolyes, he's her property lawyer. He got me her autograph picture of her as Madame Sprout.

  • i love watching this show best tv show ever wow

  • I loved this adaptation of A Little Princess...I remember watching it when it first ran on PBS. I had a VHS tape of it, but it wasn't the whole show. Now I've watched it again and it's still my favorite version. Thanks for uploading it!

  • 14:44 she looks so pretty

  • miss mention is very cruel

  • I have been wanting to watch this one again! Thanks so much for uploading it!

  • This is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen

  • If you put green makeup on Miss Minchin's face, she'd look just like the wicked witch of the west.

  • finished watching! Now it's my most favorite live-action adaptation. The anime version is still the best version overall though

Was disappointed by the changes from the book in the 1995 American version

  • I liked all versions of A little princess the 90's flick didn't bug me (Shame Liesel Matthews didn't act in other films), the Shirley temple one did though. And the Golden times cartoon story was a cute adaptation.

  • I seriously want to punch Lavinia and miss Minchin in their faces. More than once.

  • @normals those two were made for each other and got what was comming to them

  • I LOVE IT THANKYOU

  • Strange... is there some parts missing? ive seen this before but there the last part were with more details...

  • I was four when this was out because I was born in 1992 and this was aired in 1995

  • Yay happy ending you see I am 19 now so when this was out I was like only 2 or 3 so I'm grateful that I found this. You see I heard stories when I was younger and now that I've watched this I'm happy. I live watching princess movies or anything to do with princesses so thank you for posting :)

  • Yes very much.I watched this series when it came out( mid 70's?) . Now am watching it with my daughter. I hope you will post the rest when you have a chance. THANK YOU! Sorry... did not realize this was the final bit . Thannks again!!

  • @mrspopp123

I think you are confusing this with the very good BBC version that came out in the early 1970's, which is not available if even still existing. Agree, this is very good though. Certainly a lot better than the awful film version in the 90's, with the irritating American brat.

  • I love her blue and white dress

  • @moniquefiorecna Me too. Amelia Shankley has pretty much the tiniest waist ever. Am I jealous? Yeah, a bit. :)

  • its amazing what really were cruelities were actaly considered kindness' back then a child is left orphaned and penniless and it wasn't really unheard of to send them to the poor house or turn them into servants and up until the mid 20th century this was acceptable i'm glad this isn't the case now

  • I've been looking for this every where. I knew there was one that followed the book but I couldn't find.

  • Thank you for uploading this. I haven't seen it in a long long time. It is strange how they changed and edited it when they released it on DVD. The VHS version was just a little different in some scenes.
