A cross between "Super Millionaire" and "Play It!". I think it'll appeal to some more viewers, but the time limit does take away much of the contestant-host banter during the questions. I hope it works, though I worry about when shows make significant changes in game play. I think the time limit is significant, but ultimately, I don't think it will hinder good contestants.
This is going to make the show much more intense and exciting. Sure, the time limits are new, but this will prevent contestants from going on WAY TO LONG on obvious questions, and then begin second guessing themselves and doubting themselves. I think overtime we'll get use to the time limits.
The game is now about gut instinct and first reaction. The one plus about the time is is that if you run out of time, it's an automatic "walk away" and you don't lose any money!
I think that adding the time limits is a big mistake. All the friendly, funny host-contestant banter that still makes the show watchable (on a regular basis) after nine years will now be gone.
I agree. The banter was such a fun part of the show. As if the show wasn't already nerve-wracking enough, now they've got to add a time limit to "heavy the load," and freak them out.
I cannot believe this... I have mixed feelings. I miss the traditional millionaire with Fifty-Fifty, Phone-A-Friend, and Ask The Audience. Now they made it like Super Millionaire all over again. Well, let's see if this boosts ratings, and I am pretty excited to see this.
The clock adds in another level of pressure that will keep people on the edge of their seats - something that hasn't happened in the last 5 or 6 years. They've basically taken a game of high-pressure, life changing amounts of money sutiable for primetime and put it in a syndicated slot. The producer says that so far people have won more money at this point in time than ever before on the show. I think as time goes on it will sink in, heck other countries are even wanting to use this format.

Was being sarcastic there. Just seems like they are remaking the entire show and it might not click with as many people as they think.

Let's see what happens.

Not really. They are replacing the 50/50 with double dip, not adding it in. And Switch the Question is replaced with Ask an Expert.
And they should NOT have a time limit. I am going to really hate this new version of Millionaire probably.

They already use the time limit in Italy as well.

This is going to make it 100 times harder to win on this show.
