  • Nice vid. Thanks for uploading.

  • How often do landing gear tires have to be replaced?

  • Nope this is fake..! That was 1200.1 frames per second..!!! :)

  • Great vid, but BOOGIES?. hehe

  • You must be joking? Continental Airlines, soon to be UAL.... yuck!!, flies a fleet of 777-200ER's all powered by the GE90. Great video. Thanks for sharing!

    Best,

  • i like it ! well done!

  • very impressive information

  • *BOGIES

  • Why don't they spin up the wheels before touch-down to avoid uneven tyre wear?!

  • @4crevis Cost of system and weight of same plus maintenance make it cheaper to buy tires.

  • @av8rdav The new B787 spools the wheels up to the same landing speed using electric motors. Its certainly cheaper to spool up the tires as the owner of the aircraft.

  • @terraholdingco 787 yes, but the video is on the 777.

  • i thought this plane has pre-spin landing gear to stop tyre ware

  • i finally found what im looking

  • So... Each wheel has to take circa 16 tons?

  • how awesome is that! beautiful... i think of all the vids i have seen on youtube this i will remember for a long time to come strangely!... subtle yet lasting... THANK YOU for posting...

  • Amazing!

Are there planes in which landing gear wheels are rotated to mach approach speed during the landing in order to extend wear and tear period

    of tires?

  • I LOVE 777 WHEELS TY FOR UPLOADING

  • This is the most amazing video I have ever seen on you tube.....

  • It's a real pain to change the centre wheel.. you need 2 main gear jacks ...

  • 777?

  • Whoever said they don't have GE90's are idiots. Look at the FedEx 777s

  • where was this filmed

  • They should use little electric motors to pre-spin the wheels to match ground speed. leave less rubber on the landing strip.

  • @hitdrumhard Excellent idea. And save on tires too. Maybe have vanes connected to the brake discs to pre-spin them.

  • @hitdrumhard An electric motor to pre-spin one axis of that size and weight to half the planes speed would be really heavy and expensive. Plus, you'd need another actuator to engage and disengage the motor to the axis, so you wouldn't have an extra torque to win. Imagine the cost, size and weight of 6 motors. Much cheaper changing the tires once in a while.

  • @Pedrovra How about if each wheel would have blades or similar, so the bypassing fast air would pre-spin each tire? It might not add that much weight.

  • in general the 300 and 200ER uses Trent 892 engines.the 200 uses Trent 884 and the 300ER uses GE90-115B

  • @hamad1994 200ER also has the GE-90-94B and PW4090. With the 200 using PW4077

  • dats great

  • that was incredible and thank you for not putting some shitty techno music or evanescence in the background.

  • @fjikfjikfjik or heavy metal/death metal music

  • great video... i also filmed a jet engine at 1200 rpm but the landing gear is amazing. I am surprised you could track the subject so precise.

  • Amazing video!!!!!! i´ve never seen a landing slow motion......... well that kind slow motion

  • Well those engines seem Rolls Royce trent 800

  • that's because they are my friend! :)

  • uhh no, GE90's are lartger then RR and PW varients, and the GE90 engines are more rounded (if you look closely at the RR and PW, they have a slightly flat bottom edge) and the GE90's have a larger diameter

  • wow. nice shot

  • if this is a b777 200 ER then this engine is not the GE90 but great work 5*..

  • The 200 ER has the option of GE engines as well as PW and RR. GR90-90 series... the 300ER/200LR uses GE90-110B or 115B's

  • all 777 (-200 -200ER -300 -200LR -300ER) models have an option for GE engines, the 777-200LR and 777-300ER only option is the GE90-115B/110B

  • very coool 5*

  • this is 5* video

  • I have always wanted to see that.

  • Amazing! 5/5* + Fav

  • WOW.. that was absolutely amazing:) great job~

  • How did you get that? I thought the F1 didn't have a very good zoom. - Compared to the FH20's 20x zoom :P

  • Well, at recording location you're fairly close to the aircraft, but the main thing comes from the cam; it crops a whole lot of the frame during hi speed movie recording; the higher the framerate, the more it crops off. Hard time panning at such a zoomratio..

  • Ah, forgot about the cropping, thanks for the reply.

  • amaising! truley amaising!

  • Hands down... Undisputed... Best video on Youtube. Period. (Slams fist down on table.) Very nice work. I've always wanted to see this view of an airplane landing.

  • I love the Boeing 777...the best in the world!!!!!!!!

  • THAT JUST MADE MY DAY! im out

  • No you're not indeed; Kindly try to enjoy aviation without the language ;)

  • ok the 777 is equipped with ge90 engines all varients and u can tell that the aircraft was either a 777-200,200ER or 777-300 cause of the landing geat the 777-300ER 777-200LR and LRF has a different landing gear and that was amazing man very nice and i notice that he landed on his right gear first was it windy that day or something

  • they all have the same gear.

  • i just got my casio ex-f1, its amazing :D

  • ::::: nice shot :::::

  • if its GE 90, then its B773ER.

  • The engine shot is taken from a JAL B773ER. However, the KLM B772ER (gear touchdown shot) is also equipped with the GE90.

The only B772 regular visitor to AMS with other engines is Kenia Airlines KQ (noticeable smaller diameter)

  • I was born in Kenya and actually flew one of those B772ER to Schiphol from Nairobi. Kenya Airways.

I've never seen a clean landing gear on the B777...

If you live around Schiphol, why not take a video of one of those Kenya Airways since they haven't been cleared to fly to the states

  • Good for you ;-)

I just might catch one of them 772's one day, but I don't go spotting really often.

  • @cinkmoot you are very very wrong.

  • @cinkmoot Doesnt' have to be, GE90 comes in varients, GE90 115B and 110B

  • im buying this digital camera today

  • nice!!

    XD

  • hahahaha echt cool man... ik heb zo'n filmpje nog nooit gezien..
