I really hope people could start developing softwares like this which allows people who plays piano by ear to also learn different pieces. All we need to do is watch a piece like this for a long time and play as it goes.
@MrWTFcsc Deja vou again! <_< Btw, iirc Synthesia was 'originally' called Piano Hero, but for some copyright crap it had to be changed. At least, that's what I had heard. Not entirely sure to be honest, though it makes sense.
Hi, I really like this tutorial and, because of it, decided to download that music synthesizer application via the link you provided. I seem to be running into a problem, however, with getting the Castlevania soundtrack Bloody Tears from vgmusic.com I found the song on there that you used, but I can't use it as it's not a MIDI file. Help lol? >.<
@theholyavenger1 How did you go about downloading said file from VGMusic? Also it should be in a MIDI format... you need to right click the file then 'Save file/link as..." then right click the file (after installing Synthesia to support Right Click functions on MIDI files) and select 'Play in Synthesia'.
If you could PM me the specifics I'd be more than glad to help d<_<
@Crunkmastaflexx Thumbs down for missing the point of this video, read the description v_v That will go over quality issues and some downloadable stuff that you probably don't deserve to have on your computer but since I'm a helpful guy have directed you to said content.
@Crunkmastaflexx Well, I guess everyone does hear differently, so there were bound to be a few mishaps, plus, when you think about it, this tutorial was first to push people into the right direction of using Synthesia to learn excerpts, not the other videos (though they do have fantastic use for fingering).
The way I see it is that this tutorial leads people onto Synthesia using a moderately popular song, whereas for example jay19881988 leads into the more in depth side of learning an excerpt.
@findlay27 So does synthesia help learn? I never bothered with MIDI cause I thought it was for noob or just spam for companies to grandify their product
@Crunkmastaflexx Most definitely, most people find it of use, though I'll PM you links if you're interested, It's proved useful to me over the past couple of years. Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) is popular amongst the community for creating covers, Synthesia is just a glorified playback program that provides a neat piano roll, you can also change how fast the song play making it very flexible. I'll explain more in my PM d<_<
Thanks guys, I hoped you successfully found the download links, just remember, having Synthesia is much better than watching on Youtube. Also if anybody has any questions on the Yamaha NP30 Grand Piano or Yamaha FC5 Foot Pedal just drop a comment on my channel or via the PM system.
Similar pattern, but entirely different. Also, why the elipsis? It's not a negative factor, if anything that elipsis belongs more on a reversed version of your comment on a ttfaf video lol. Mainly because this theme has existstes for about 2 decades.
Lol, I remember 7 months back when I first saw this vid. I learned the right hand, but then I found a lot of other Synthesia vids, so I never completed learning the song. I need 2 complete it sometime.
Anyway I'm glad I was able to help a bit, this tutorial was mostly to get people into Synthesia and look for things they'd like to learn, Though if you learnt from the video... congratulations lol!
Your welcome! I'm glad some people have seen the major point in this video, which is to learn from downloading synthesia rather than just the video, that way you can slow the excerpt down to as slow as you need it to be. I wish you luck in learning this! I can nearly play it all now, all it takes is alot of practice.
Nah, the program looks as it looks without a keyboard. Usually most people just take their piano to their computer to learn how to play it by running the program.
You CAN however connect a piano or keyboard and play along with the program if you have MIDI cables, all of the notes that you can extend to will be highlighted in white. You do however need a keyboard or piano that can suppord MIDI cables, just look at the back of it and see if you have IN/OUT ports.
im not saying that this song is bad...acctually its pretty bad ass but id rather learn another song...somthing a bit more challanging...but yea...that program could show me how to play that song...it doesnt mean that im going to download it...
Well, if you wish to, you can ask me for an excerpt you wish to learn from a Video Game and I'll try to get you the MIDI file. I'm surprised you say that this isn't challenging enough, unless you have a good amount of experience with a piano or keyboard of course, then that's a different story.
your funny....i dont play piano nor do i have guitar hero nor do i play it...but i do play guitar....among with other instruments...and yes i know more than you basic chords and arpeggios and what not
Synthesia, they have their own Website, the download is free and it can run only MIDI files but if you go to VGMusic (dot) com, you can find all the music you need where there is a piano category.
Can you PLEASE upload the midi file for this, I can't seem to find it anywhere on the net, my version is not really for piano and I want this one. please!
Tell me about it O_o Ever tried to run a Gusty Gardens MIDI file on this program? It crashes so badly lol! There are so many things playing at once the program actually crashed my computer.
Yeah, same here =/ This is just a program where you run MIDI files and get the notes represented =D It's handy but in the case of this... it's TOO DIFFICULY lol!
Synthesia, You can google it and you'll find it no problem. You can only run MIDI files. A great website is called vgmusic(dot)com. It has lots of game music, all in MIDI files and they also have a specific section for piano.
No problem! Sorry I couldn't make the notes outside the white area more brighter. It's just that the keys were assigned to the computers keyboard and only light up the area you can play from 'a' to '@'
Well the software is called 'Synthesia'. You can get the music you need at vgmusic(dot)com You can import any file to the program al long as it's in a MIDI file format.
tool name pls???
