Hi, I really like this tutorial and, because of it, decided to download that music synthesizer application via the link you provided. I seem to be running into a problem, however, with getting the Castlevania soundtrack Bloody Tears from vgmusic.com I found the song on there that you used, but I can't use it as it's not a MIDI file. Help lol? >.<

@theholyavenger1 How did you go about downloading said file from VGMusic?Also it should be in a MIDI format... you need to right click the file then 'Save file/link as..." then right click the file (after installing Synthesia to support Right Click functions on MIDI files) and select 'Play in Synthesia'.

@Crunkmastaflexx Well, I guess everyone does hear differently, so there were bound to be a few mishaps, plus, when you think about it, this tutorial was first to push people into the right direction of using Synthesia to learn excerpts, not the other videos (though they do have fantastic use for fingering).

The way I see it is that this tutorial leads people onto Synthesia using a moderately popular song, whereas for example jay19881988 leads into the more in depth side of learning an excerpt.

@Crunkmastaflexx Most definitely, most people find it of use, though I'll PM you links if you're interested, It's proved useful to me over the past couple of years. Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) is popular amongst the community for creating covers, Synthesia is just a glorified playback program that provides a neat piano roll, you can also change how fast the song play making it very flexible. I'll explain more in my PM d<_<

I'm glad some people have seen the major point in this video, which is to learn from downloading synthesia rather than just the video, that way you can slow the excerpt down to as slow as you need it to be. I wish you luck in learning this! I can nearly play it all now, all it takes is alot of practice.

Nah, the program looks as it looks without a keyboard. Usually most people just take their piano to their computer to learn how to play it by running the program.

You CAN however connect a piano or keyboard and play along with the program if you have MIDI cables, all of the notes that you can extend to will be highlighted in white. You do however need a keyboard or piano that can suppord MIDI cables, just look at the back of it and see if you have IN/OUT ports.

Synthesia, they have their own Website, the download is free and it can run only MIDI files but if you go to VGMusic (dot) com, you can find all the music you need where there is a piano category.

Synthesia, You can google it and you'll find it no problem. You can only run MIDI files. A great website is called vgmusic(dot)com. It has lots of game music, all in MIDI files and they also have a specific section for piano.

No problem! Sorry I couldn't make the notes outside the white area more brighter. It's just that the keys were assigned to the computers keyboard and only light up the area you can play from 'a' to '@'

Well the software is called 'Synthesia'. You can get the music you need at vgmusic(dot)com You can import any file to the program al long as it's in a MIDI file format.
