The monochord is a keyboard instrument with a single pair of wires, while in the vidio are two clavichords in duo, each clavichord has 45 keys and 22 pairs of strings, so are fretted clavichord. regards
thanks for the comment, the volume of audio reproduction depends on the chain: clavichord-distance microphone-recorder-PC-youtube-PC, so it is difficult to appreciate the real volume of the original sound, but you can guess the real volume of sound and adjust consequently the final volume, greetings
The philosophy of the early builders was to always create different instruments, certainly not to copy other instruments.
My philosophy is the same, not to copy other instruments, but only processing project on the basis of a few geometric data of early instruments, or design completely free, in any case trying to inspire thought essential of Renaissance and Baroque that everything is uneven.
I want to make one, but I have no tools or skill.
This is great, I love it

I don´t know if this is something like inventing fire or inventing the wheel.
But it is something better left in history rather than being re invented.

I played this a long time ago. Your pauses are interesting. Is it just my equipment or is it recorded a little too loudly?
Thank you! More, more!

Are you working on any new instruments now?

You've made so many keyboard instruments. Do you go and visit the originals personally before building one?

What is your clavichord modeled on? It has multiple bridges, no?
SFChristo 3 years ago
In the 16th century there are in Italy several clavichords with two or three or four bridges.
In this video the lower clavichord have three bridges and the upper clavichord have four bridges.
