i have one of these ... love it to bits , but i think someone has re-jetted it cuz it was a track bike ... mid / top range no problems but at the bottom end it has a flat spot that really spoils it , and its hard to accelerate through it in slow traffic and hard not to slip the clutch

This is a friends bike. I have a 2006 zx-10 and he can keep up with me through 4th. He has a 2 up rear sproket as well. So I would say it is very worth it.
thats all i need to convince me then, i got a smaller front sprocket already so it might be worth it... thanks heaps mate. do you know if he has ran a 1/4 mile time yet so i can compare that to mine or what kind of kilowatts its putting out now, cheers.
@rhyanvosburg001 how? i had a '98 7r a couple years ago. now i have a 09 zx10r. the 10r will bang out 130mph in 1st gear. the 7r can only do that in its dreams....
@MrDankness60 My 06 will do 109 in first. I am a 300lb rider. He is 220lb rider. he also has a gearing kit so he accelerates faster. Up to my 3rd gear he keeps up but he is banging through the gears. He is in 5th by the time I am in 3rd. It is when I shift to fourth that I take off and leave him.
@rhyanvosburg001 makes me want to restore my 7, i got hit by a car a few years ago. some asshole ran a red light and t-boned me. the frame and engine are still good.

1998 Zx7R is an extremely heavy bike, has a lot of power though, I love the bike though, my first bike and it treats me good.
