Ahh I still remember my first and only grow. 4 plants 2 ended up male 2 female, 1 aurora indica 1 durban poison.

Using some nigger rigged CFLs and basic nutrients you'd be surprised at what you can do.

This man speaks the truth. My first jimmy rig was with ten 23w CFLs growing some indica strain. Didn't have any fucking nutrients except bat guano.. my plant was so starved near the end that most of the leaves either died or turned bright yellow. Didn't even trim a goddamn thing and ended up with about 2oz in the end. Had lots of fun and the results were quite nice!
