I like this vid and the choice of quote at the top is for me one of the defining things she said about her self "I am not tragically coloured...I am too busy sharpening my oyster knife". She continues to inspire me as both a reader and a writer. Their Eyes Were Watching God is one of my all time favourite books. Her memoir Dust Tracks on the Road was also quite revealing; and I also liked Wrapped in Rainbows, the biography on her life by Valerie Boyd.
