What the hell, man! You shouldn't compare a comic book to a video. Adaptations from book to moving picture, are never perfect, simply because, we need to read and make our own mind to what it is we're reading, and with a movie we don't get a say in that, it's just what it is. I don't think we can compare a movie to a book, example: a horse to a car, they both run fast, but the horse is an animal, a car is a machine, and they have nothing in common. Was that kevin Backon on the first episode?

First episode = awesome. Everything after that went downhill until the kick-ass finale (which had almost no zombies). Decent show, but it could have been much better. A lot of bad writing, and for a show with only six episodes in its first season, there was really no reason for how slow some of it felt, especially considering that there wasn't any real character development for most of the characters. Hopefully next season will be better. Hire new writers.

Now that HBO has had its first two episodes released of Game of Thrones,which was mentioned at 8:39 (said to be more excited about GoT than WD),I wonder if the worrying of it being too "Renaissance" is still intact.I personally thought the first episode of GoT was hard to follow (for people who didn't read the books) because it jumped from character to characrter.2nd episode-great.As for WD, the characters chosen for the roles were AWESOME!I disagree about what that one guy said about casting.

at 5:58 i have to disagree. the show and comic books are not about the zombies at all. sure the zombies have a big part to do with this but the story is about survival, the characters and how they are trying live and survive in a world with the undead around every corner.

@PaulConway1973 just saw the first episode great series felt very 28 days at the start although thats just cause he woke up in the hospital and had the same music as well they used. The main sherif is a British actor and he's in a lot of stuff in the UK thought I recognised him

The walking dead show is good but comparing it to the comic it doesn't hold up. The characters in the show are completely not like the characters in the comic. The story starts off wrong so I just disliked it from there and that's about it when it comes to dislike. What I like about the show is the music, and the background very beautiful.

great zombie stories (IMHO) use the zombies as a backdrop , and the main focus of the show is on how the characters deal with this new world. If the reviewers here are just wanting full on zombiness in every episode, they may be in for some disappointment

i seen the commercial the other day and didnt think much of it other than looks and sounds gay, but i watched it and i loved it, dont know why people are saying bad acting i really liked every bit of it, and its for sure goin on my shows to record list on my dvr, also, does anyone know if the length of the episodes will stay the same? or was it just that long because it was the debut of the show? i really hope it stays that long it was kinda like watching a movie.
The episode definitely had its flaws - poor acting at times, ridiculous circumstances for survival - but overall it was well done and very emotion driven.
I agree, that casting director could have had better picks. I think it's hard to find people to suit the roles in zombie style film, it premiers tonight at 9c! totally pumped, I hope the acting is better than what I pulled from the trailer!
Just wondering if you guys ever watched Dead Set?, Its a UK zombie series and it was incredibly good. I just watched The Walking Dead Promo episode (and did a review, check my channel) but Dead Set was every bit as good
@HorrorHeadReviews just finished watching that. Not nearly as awesome as Walking Dead, but entertaining. I found Dead Set to be kind of spastic. It seemed to jump around alot. Walking dead is much more story driven and I think this will bode well for its longevity. I love all zombie movies but Walking Dead is by far the most exciting television show lately next to last years Gladiator hit Sparticus:Blood & Sand.

The walking dead show is good but comparing it to the comic it doesn't hold up. The characters in the show are completely not like the characters in the comic. The story starts off wrong so I just disliked it from there and that's about it when it comes to dislike. What I like about the show is the music, and the background very beautiful.

I think its too soon to talk about the casting.. The show have to go on to see if the casting could really show the emotions of the comic character..

i watched the last bit of it at work with som ppl n they loved it n i was hooked so badly on that one tank scene idk why n wwen i got home the re-run had just started n i got to enjoy every second of it i can wait till next sunday

great zombie stories (IMHO) use the zombies as a backdrop , and the main focus of the show is on how the characters deal with this new world. If the reviewers here are just wanting full on zombiness in every episode, they may be in for some disappointment

hi i know this is off the subject, but i couldnt find your email anywhere.. so here is my question if you can answer it.. recently i was trying to record stuff with my web cam, and somehow almost filled up my 80 gig hard drive.. it was only a quarter full, and i cant find anything in the hard drive thats causing the issue.. can you help please?

After watching (and effin' LIVING) the pilot, i decided to see what the good ol' interwebs thought of this monumental television epic. Read all the reviews i could find, then headed over to youtube to check out some videos. First vid i watch, who should i find but Jeff bloody' Cannata who i recognize from Reviews On The Run :D ! i seen the commercial the other day and didnt think much of it other than looks and sounds gay, but i watched it and i loved it, dont know why people are saying bad acting i really liked every bit of it, and its for sure goin on my shows to record list on my dvr, also, does anyone know if the length of the episodes will stay the same? or was it just that long because it was the debut of the show? i really hope it stays that long it was kinda like watching a movie.

The episode definitely had its flaws - poor acting at times, ridiculous circumstances for survival - but overall it was well done and very emotion driven.

I agree, that casting director could have had better picks. I think it's hard to find people to suit the roles in zombie style film, it premiers tonight at 9c! totally pumped, I hope the acting is better than what I pulled from the trailer!

Just wondering if you guys ever watched Dead Set?, Its a UK zombie series and it was incredibly good. I just watched The Walking Dead Promo episode (and did a review, check my channel) but Dead Set was every bit as good

@HorrorHeadReviews just finished watching that. Not nearly as awesome as Walking Dead, but entertaining. I found Dead Set to be kind of spastic. It seemed to jump around alot. Walking dead is much more story driven and I think this will bode well for its longevity. I love all zombie movies but Walking Dead is by far the most exciting television show lately next to last years Gladiator hit Sparticus:Blood & Sand.

@Rahll Yeah but it is just one episode, i wouldn't judge it too quick as it may take a dive lol, i think its gonna get too deep into a love story, its definitely got the potential to be much better than Dead Set, but Dead Set had something The Walking Dead didn't, it just seemed more real and less Hollywood to me, probably coz im from the UK and it was set in my home town, but yeah, if all goes well it should be the best zombie orientated show ever
