@aPoProductions1997 Yeah, I mean this is a great song, who cares what 'genre' most people consider it to be, or how those particular people choose to perceive it and try to box it.
This songs fades beautifully into "faces in disguise". At 4:15 of this song (the outro) start "faces in disguise" in another tab and enjoy the dream-like flow.
@aPoProductions1997 Listen to anything that Andy "Six" Beirsack has said, he doesnt believe in subcultures but he hates any one who hates or outcasts someone because they're emo, Shawn Milke the frontman for Alesana doesnt even mention the subject, most bands that arent made up of total assholes that just call people stupid when they commit suicide(MCR) don't ride around calling emo's bullshit
@aPoProductions1997 not all emo's cut themselves, and its not a sad way of life, just an openly emotional one, who cares if ppl think we're all melodramatic cutters tht lead sad lives, we hav fun as well, but we arent going to hide depression, and I understand tht they arnt but they commonly are considered emo n helped form the emo culture, n thers nvr any need to b a homophobic pig.
Well to me anyway. They really expanded my tastes as far as music goes. Before I would just listen to punk music generally and Tom Petty. After I heard Sunny Day Real Estate, it opened up a new realm of music to me.
@xNEXAVOBISx where can i download all their songs? i only have the studio albums and a few early ep's but i dont have the rising tide ep's or lp2 eps or anything
Check out used record stores. I had been looking for How it feels to be something on for months and found it 2 months ago at a used record store for 10 bucks.
Agreed. I have introduces many people to this album. they dont care for it.... A month later they are constantly playing it. If you dont enjoy Jeremy's voice at first, it takes a minute to like them.... but in the end, you will love them.
Yes, different. But I like Sunny best with clean sound. Some prefer their early music, I only like sunny day with clean sound and more melodic and less noise.
i love when you play out a song too hard when it comes out then rediscover it years later and its still as amazing as ever.^this song. stoked to the max about reunion!!!
If you Wiki Emo...Sunny Day helped define the Genre. The songs have a lot of pain, and not just personal. However, SDRE is just passionate...I really they don't think of themselves as Emo...at least my brother Dan doesn't, I don't think...
You have no idea what you're talking about. We were calling Sunny Day emo back in the mid 90s- back when hardly anybody ever heard of the word emo except people who listened to stuff like this.
God, are there any actual SDRE videos on YouTube or is it just a bunch of bullshit audio tracks people put up with cover art for the "video" content? I just don't get the point of putting audio tracks up on a video site.
I believe the videos for "in Circles" and "7" are on youtube if you're not too lazy to look around, plus some live footage from concerts. I'm sorry audio tracks on youtube are such a boner killer for you.
I'm pretty sure they are going to because at a recent Jeremy Enigk show, Jeremy said he couldn't play any SDRE songs without the rest of the band ( Jeremy usually plays 2-3 SDRE songs at his shows if your not familiar with his solo efforts).
I love sunny day real estate. If you like sunny day real estate I would suggest listening to: The Shins, Bright eyes, Elliot Smith, and if you want more bands you can just send me a message.
I lovve this band. itss soo much better than any of the bands out now. Fuck fallout boy lol,its soo much better than all that new gay emo shit they got now... its a biig diffrence, yall should look up FUGAZI. great band for hardcore music listeners
@rigoberto0910 agreed fall out boy sux, but dont dis all modern emo's/emo music just coz ur to lazy to look it up, bands like Alesana, The Black Veil brides, and Blessthefall are perfectly talented and dont deserve to be bashed when they arent auto tuned like most music and when they have fans tht love the same music as u. I love Sunny Day Real Estate, Fugazi, Antioch Arrow, Minor Threat, and several other bands that formed the genre, so stop using homosexuallity as an insult u ignorant redneck.
I'm a die hard sdre fan but i've just come to the sudden realisation that the rising tide album artwork isnt a lama...

Actually, they are considered part of the second wave of bands defining the genre.
Emo is not Fall Out Boy or any other pop-punk synth band who sing about girls and wear eyeliner.
Somewhere, Guy Picciotto is slamming his head against a wall.
