this piece looks like early intermediate level, which grade are you in if i may ask? do you go for a piano class? you're lucky i didn't even have one.

Actually, not really. I think Grade 2 or even Grade 1 can even play it. XD The song sheet that I have is not so hard. ;)

Of course you may asked! ^_^ I'm now in Grade 6 and I do go for piano class.

Please don't say like that. ;) People surely have the chance to try it out. Just that we must be patient only. :D If you want the sheet, I can give you if you want... ^_^

haha i guess maybe the song is easy as pie for you, but i think in fact it is quite easy to play. do you think grade 6 has strict requirement for sight reading? oh it's ok i think the sheet is available online maybe i can search for it next time. thanks so much

Grade 1-8 must know sight reading. That's most important. And yeah, Grade 6 has strict requirement for sight reading I think. Moreover, it's more difficult than Grade 1-5 for sure. ;)

do you have any good recommendation for sight reading books besides taking a piano class? it's like self-taught and learning at home. did you ever cover the keys with cardboard on top, practice in the dark or something along those lines? you know we can't be a good pianist if without this essential skill...

The only thing to improve your sight reading besides those books is try to learn a piece by yourself. If you want to see whether you play correctly, yeah, I think you need a teacher for that... ^_^

Well, mine is piano. But, yes, I do cover it with cloth they have given but not cardboard. Also, I think I did try once playing in the dark. I would say ok only.......... ;) Well, you should try if you want. It's good anyway. ;)

did you learn sight-reading by developing a sense of keyboard geography by recognizing the position of black keys and the white keys group? you know something like the Braille system...

yeah you're right a lot of people did not learn properly because lack of the teacher's instruction.

Yeah, that's true. I encourage you to learn piano class with someone who knows piano (Or a teacher, that's better). ;) At least, you learn the correct lesson rather you learn yourself. You do not know whether you play the correct note. ;) :D
