Hey gday mate... I'm a railfan from Australia... please correct me if I'm wrong, but outside the Manhattan area, are the subway lines totally elevated on viaducts throughout the suburbs...?
@mtanyc Righto then, thanks for that... our cities here have no subways or any "metro" lines as such, just mainline commuter trains throughout the suburbs (overhead wiring, mainline signalling, etc)... our commuter lines run metro-like underground services in the downtown areas, but then surface in the inner suburbs then continue on to nearby towns as part of the state-wide rail system..
big apple.... i live in fucking poland, fucking "Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski" city, nyc is 10x bigger than this shit, omfg, enjoy the life because u live in NYC, not fucking poland on the country.
@MrSubwayTrainMan it would be nice to extend the A train from Lefferts Blvd to Jamaica (where the E, J, and Z terminate). If not extend the A line, maybe a new bus route should be developed.
i disagree DOMINICANRANKS. the newer models are smaller in size. i've ridden them plenty of timed during the peak of rush hours and it seems to be more crowded than if i were to ride on an R32 or R44. The new R160s aint going on the A line, at least anytime soon.
the R44, R46, R68/R68A are all 75 feet long. The R32, R38, R40/R40M, R42, R143, and R160A/R160B's are 60 feet long.
The 75 foot trains have eight cars, and the 60 foot trains have 10 cars, making a 600 foot train. Except on the J, Z, L and M lines where they use 8 60 foot cars making it 480 feet.
The R110B/R131 and the BMT standards were 67 feet long.
the old model trains are really horrible, and when it brakes nd turns, da noise can kill ur eardrums... but da only best thing it has on the newer models is dat these have a lot of space...
Get your fix of the R-32s while you can because they're soon to be replaced by the R-160s. I used to like the R32s until I got older and went more for the R-44s.
What the hell....I used to catch the A train to school everyday....I know that was 20 years ago but still....the Rockaway blvd station in brooklyn was underground....are you sure this is the A train, or have some things changed?
this train is beautifull. i wanna bomb it >.<
