What you seeing here is not carelessness it's the coaches fault for not teaching the kids how to tackle/take a hit properly. In addition contact is the base of football and therefore tackling and taking a hit occurs on every play so you can't learn the fundamentals of football by playing touch or flag. If you choose to waste time by teaching a child to be a hard hitter at that young of an age, then I'm glad I'm not paying you to coach my child. A coach needs to manage their time available during practice just like the game, and having 5 year olds butt heads is a waste and a health risk. Like I already said, 5 year olds don't need to play tackle football.

There are alternative football programs that'll teach your child more and they will benefit at a greater rate of learning how to play football than this. This is not how you teach a child to play football. Full contact sports like this will only increase the risk of brain damage/concussions when they're older. Lessening the contact i.e. flag football will teach the fundamentals and strategy, not carelessness.
