I think this video is proof that it doesn't matter what genre an artist is classified as, good music is good music period. I think some people are so narrow minded to say they only like country or they only like pop or rock. I don't think they realize how much they are missing. This song is a great rock/country hybrid that shows the best music doesn't come from one genre but the combinations of many genres

Vince Gill could sing with Barney the dinosaur and it would sound awesome. He just has that kind of talent. I'm much more a country fan than a rock fan, but I do love good, talented musicians and bands and Daughtry is really, really good.
I love when live songs are better than recorded ones. This is an awesome duo, wish the single sounded as good. The music sounds so much deeper live. Daughtry is the real deal and Vince compliments the deepness of Chris' tone.

Awesome! Daughtry is just amazing, Love their CD's, have both of them, though I think Leave This Town is overall better, though their first album had some pretty damn good songs too.
i love the combination of their voices. What a song lad, i dont think Chris and his band get enogh credit for thier song writing. I know most songs are co-writes but I think the best songs off the 1st album are the ones he wrote himself - home, gone, breakdown.
and on this album again, the songwriting is top-drawer. Excellento!!
I think the reason Chris let VG sing one of his lines was because the CMAs is a Country gig and Chris had to come in on the part of the song after VG sang. Chris couldn't sing both parts like in the recording studio. Anyway, I hope this song becomes a cross-over for Daughtry in the Country arena with a video.
I do wish vince would've sung a line in the recorded version- but i agree it was to make a good impression. and it worked. vince's voice is wonderful.

The song has been out for a while...it's on the Daughtry album that has been out for several months now (since the summer, I think?). Vince Gill is also on the studio track.
As a Daughtry Fan and a Vince Gill Fan, I can tell you that it is ridiculous to think that the comment made in the interview was, in any way, disrespectful. If anything, it was playful. The two have a mutual respect for one another, and both are greatly talented and respected in their genres and beyond. If there was any discord or bad blood between the two camps, do you REALLY think they would be singing on stage together?! And go listen to the Daughtry album, Gill is supporting in the song.

I quoted that twice on here today what Brian and Chris say. But yes, please listen for yourself and please post your opinion. I and others do not see any disrespect towards Vince Gill. I don't understand how anyone gets that from what Brian says.
It is the same song as was performed at the CMAs, Tennessee Line. But i reviewed the jacket and gill is not listed as supporting. Chris thanked him in his letter in the back stating something to the effect of liking to thank VG for lending his angelic voice and that chris owes him a beer and pizza.
Above each song the only info given is the writer(s) and who it was published by. The page before the Thank yous it does have "Guest Vocalist, "Tennesee Line": Vince Gill". On the last page that has the thank yous Chris has "To Vince Gill, thank you so much for lending your angelic voice to this project...I still owe you beer and pizza." Brish99, I know this last part, the ty part, is pretty much what you had but I wanted to quote so there could be no misunderstandings from others.
Yes, thank you! All Brian said was "...may or may not heard of. If you're a country music fan you have..." How that is taken as direspectful is beyond me and I find it quite disturbing that some may not listen to what is being said. I'm sure there are some ppl that have not heard of Vince Gill. What is wrong with that statement? And as Brian went on to say if you are a country music fan you have.
Good clear sounding video. Chris and Vince did a great job together, Tuned in to watch the CMA just to see Daughtry and was not dissapointed. The best of the night for me.
BTW, do YOU even know who Vince is? They NEVER PLAY him, ever. You joined Youtube simply to make an uneducated joke about an artist that you know nothing about, way to prove how dumb and arrogant country fans are.

i love the combination of their voices. What a song lad, i dont think Chris and his band get enogh credit for thier song writing. I know most songs are co-writes but I think the best songs off the 1st album are the ones he wrote himself - home, gone, breakdown.
and on this album again, the songwriting is top-drawer. Excellento!!

I think the reason Chris let VG sing one of his lines was because the CMAs is a Country gig and Chris had to come in on the part of the song after VG sang. Chris couldn't sing both parts like in the recording studio. Anyway, I hope this song becomes a cross-over for Daughtry in the Country arena with a video.

I do wish vince would've sung a line in the recorded version- but i agree it was to make a good impression. and it worked. vince's voice is wonderful.

Nothing like adding a little Vince Gill to your song. Its definetly brings it up a few notches. He has one of the best voices in country music.

The song has been out for a while...it's on the Daughtry album that has been out for several months now (since the summer, I think?). Vince Gill is also on the studio track.

As a Daughtry Fan and a Vince Gill Fan, I can tell you that it is ridiculous to think that the comment made in the interview was, in any way, disrespectful. If anything, it was playful. The two have a mutual respect for one another, and both are greatly talented and respected in their genres and beyond. If there was any discord or bad blood between the two camps, do you REALLY think they would be singing on stage together?! And go listen to the Daughtry album, Gill is supporting in the song.

The vid is over to the right. The title is Daughtry talks about Tennesee Line.
I quoted that twice on here today what Brian and Chris say. But yes, please listen for yourself and please post your opinion. I and others do not see any disrespect towards Vince Gill. I don't understand how anyone gets that from what Brian says.

It is the same song as was performed at the CMAs, Tennessee Line. But i reviewed the jacket and gill is not listed as supporting. Chris thanked him in his letter in the back stating something to the effect of liking to thank VG for lending his angelic voice and that chris owes him a beer and pizza.

Above each song the only info given is the writer(s) and who it was published by. The page before the Thank yous it does have "Guest Vocalist, "Tennesee Line": Vince Gill". On the last page that has the thank yous Chris has "To Vince Gill, thank you so much for lending your angelic voice to this project...I still owe you beer and pizza." Brish99, I know this last part, the ty part, is pretty much what you had but I wanted to quote so there could be no misunderstandings from others.

Yes, thank you! All Brian said was "...may or may not heard of. If you're a country music fan you have..." How that is taken as direspectful is beyond me and I find it quite disturbing that some may not listen to what is being said. I'm sure there are some ppl that have not heard of Vince Gill. What is wrong with that statement? And as Brian went on to say if you are a country music fan you have.

Good clear sounding video. Chris and Vince did a great job together, Tuned in to watch the CMA just to see Daughtry and was not dissapointed. The best of the night for me.
