  • Tim the tool man taylor

  • Oh com'on jay

  • winner challenges nick mason

  • Bondurant...HELL YEA!!! GRAND NATIONAL!

  • Jay needed to put smaller tires on his buick so ther is a smaller contact patch so the engine would have to work so hard to bresk traction.

  • give jay another shot. that car will do better. but also see how the power was un controlable!!! go buick v6

  • @MIketucky350 1500hp is quite a bit. Duttweiler's car probably isn't the easiest to do a burnout in lol you could see it going sideways so he had to get off of it

  • sTuPiD

  • lol....conan coulda left a bigger skid mark then jay,LOL

  • Comment removed

  • The Ford may have won a burnout contest but in the 1/4 I think it would be all Buick! This is a road course car vs a drag car

  • I want that mustang! Before Saleen brand became cheap.

  • Rich guys doing burnouts in cars worth more then most peoples yearly salary. Sucess has its perks.

  • Shame this wasn't on "Home Improvement"........ The Tool Man winning something......

  • Is this from Home Improvement?

  • @BigEyeGreedy no real life

  • nothing better than a couple rich car guys

  • The Grand National had slicks and they are made to get traction quick for better acceleration anyway.........Ford still sucks

  • @boostedbuick98 And how is Buick doing these days? Oh wait......

  • only because leno had slicks

  • Great video,pretty funny stuff.

  • I dont think leno spooled it up enuff

  • damn, this is when the Saleen brand was actually ran by Steve Saleen. Now if you want a real Saleen you have to get an SMS mustang

  • @asspop123 Saleen has closed its doors so tim should hold on to that mustang.

  • its amazing! ... that a V6 still sounds like crap even when its choking down considerable boost & actually starting to make some serious power like a V8.

  • Dint know how I never saw this either. Good vid

  • That's not a 3.8 litre. It's a 4.3 duttweiler twin turbo. Stroked 3.8 motor.

  • aaaaa they didnt wet it down enough, and turbo charged the boost kicked in too late.

  • this was aired back in 1995

  • @004482rb good job! maybe thats why they used a 1995 mustang?ummmm maybe.....idk

  • Jay should have done a burnout in his steam powered car.. while Tim did some more blow..

  • @chevlumina

    ahahhahahahah nice lol

  • @chevlumina he dont blow you blow you stupid yankee why dont you just go back to your couch surfiing wnat to be hot rod junkie

  • @bmclaren45 Blow is another name for cocaine. Tim Allen has been known to use cocaine in the past. Also, he was arrested in 1978 for the possesion of 1.4 lbs of cocaine.

  • @chevlumina lol

  • gn had to slow down as it was going sideways almost lost it. probably would have went 200 mph. hard to believe its true that was a correct color for a few of the first of the series.

  • yeah the grand national was a 3.8 turbo charged v6....and fast as hell

  • v6? hahaha really?

  • Wow, I wish my wife had a car like Jay's. Hell I wish I had a car like that.

  • these guys should be the hosts on american top gear

  • @midflder92 I agree for right now in the current state I don't see the show making it.

  • @midflder92 Amen... Along with Adam Carolla.

  • @midflder92 hell yes! wish those TV execs would get their heads out of their asses and listen to you on that

  • @midflder92 for sure dude. whenever i hear tim allen and jay leno, i can feel their passion for cars and performance. the guys who host american top gear in my book dont have it as much.

  • @midflder92 that would be the greatest car show EVER!!!

  • @midflder92 I'd actually watch it then. Bravo.

  • @midflder92 they asked Leno to do it, he refused.

  • two American beauties........ SN95 and GNx

  • what year is the mustang saleen? 1995?

  • how old is this? like 1995?

  • lmfao nice grand national

  • You guys don't seem to be understanding somethiing. That turbo buick had bigger tires and he was spinning way more violently, he let off the gas and that's why he lost.

  • haha I cant believe I don't remember this episode

  • wouldnt a grand national be considered a ricey muscle...it is a 6 poper...lol...no one ever talks shit on a grand national compared to how much they talk about a jap scraper...that mustang is SICK

why were supras brought into this video?...i seen none what-so-ever...am i really that blind?

-Jap cars = crap cars- even germans and italians will tell you that...and they know how to build cars

  • @SebastianLong

thats why even americans buy more jap cars than there own shit. and they are succesfull in every market they enter.

  • @SebastianLong Definitely not lol!! GNX was one of the fastest cars in the 80's It's funny that when America tries to build a turbo V6, it's the fastest of it's era... and it's a damn Buick for Christ sakes! lol

  • it's just a 6 cylinder buick... with an extra turbocharger... i LOL'd

  • Im a Ford man too and that GN probably would have won a quarter mile race but nothing can do a better burnout than a Mustang. A Supra could not beat a GN back in "87 so comparing it to a car that wasnt even being made anymore is pointless. Slap another turbo on one and it would cream a Supra. To beat American muscle you have to make a GTR or Supra or even Porsche almost undriveable where you can drive the American car to work everyday. Try that without American muscle.

  • @neonmike1000 i despise red necks or people who are extreme domestic fans to the point that every other ar is nothign but shit.

but this fucker.. is right :|

  • @neonmike1000 i despise red necks or people who are extreme domestic fans to the point that every other car is nothing but shit.

but this fucker.. is right :|

  • @eFXion Who is right? Im not blind to the fact that there are very good cars from all over the world but its hard to argue with driveability and low cost of ownership and the ease of tuning an American car.

  • Rich boy Leno can afford that car, but it DOESN'T mean he can handle it!

  • 6 cyl can't beat horsepower, my ass. Jay leno wasn't even on it at the begging. he was probably about to shit his pants if he was on it all the way that's why he got on it for those 3 seconds while he was actually smokin them

  • @Radatatify jay lenos been around cars for MANY years...dude knows his shit...he's built vehicles that would laugh at a lot of modded cars...and btw...slicks are STICKY...he only broke the tires loose cause he dropped the clutch into second

  • Jay would have done himself and buick a better service with a street driven gn and some dot tires. that car is set up for 1/4 mile times as any one can see with a brain not prejudiced against buick. The reasoning that a buick turbo 6 could not lay down as well if not more rubber than that stang is not even worth arguing about, cause has and still is done all the time.

  • Doesn't the g n have wrinkle walls id say jay would beat Tim in the 1/4.... don't know never played Gt2.

  • corny...

  • GN's were amazing. Turbo 3.8s. Very easy 10 second cars, lots of videos on youtube

  • id like to see coco and the sho ,, might have been close to new as this was a while back

  • @primomachino yes indeed. The Green Monster = BEAST!!

  • tims saleen has always been my fav stang, the G N is a badass car too but always been partial to stangs

  • @vbstangin correct me if im wrong, but is this not the R spec Mustang that appears in Gran Turismo 2? awsome cars either way.

  • American cars suck!

  • @machinesix eat my American cock bitch!

  • lmao.

  • I was expecting alot more from leno....after all he has about every good car ever made. You'd think he learned how to do an american burnout by now.

  • @GRelated420 lol massive slicks arent great for long powerslides

  • Damn, jay couldnt keep the turbo lit

  • I like both cars and the drivers but why is good to have less traction.Where is the race??.

  • @BigMikeMuniz so then you agree?

  • @hilltop530 yup, I agree

  • @BigMikeMuniz gotta luv them buicks.

  • i remember this,, wow,, time flies

  • the grand national would have smoked the mustang it needs better tires and a better driver

  • JAY SCREWED UP THATS A DRAG CAR IT WAS HOOKING UP!! JUST LIKE ITS BUILT TO DO, WHAT AN IDIOT!!!

  • Does everybody know what time it is?

  • @SuperLuigirules1 Tool time?

  • Both are rece cars. The Mustang is built for road race, and the Buick for drag racing. Both are awesome machines, and very powerfull, altough the Buick, besides being only 6 cylinder, has twice the power of the mustang. of course, those big turbos help a lot!

  • the Buick had wide drag racing tires. I bet it would've won if both cars ran the same tires. Even so, the mustang did a nice burnout.

  • Wrong tires... lol

  • Give these guys the Top Gear USA job! Tim Allen would be the Clarkson of the crew, Jay would be the hip guy and then find a James May-like dude.

  • lol a tool time rip...

  • I just watch a vid of jays 2011 5.0 mustang

  • Jay once again proves he is an idiot. He should have realized he doesnt have the skills to hold it back and get the turbo to spool up at the same time. If he had a brain he whould have had regular wheels/tires on to let loose easy and completely burndown all the way there and back!

  • Tim Allen is a lovable douche-bag. Can't help but like the guy.

Also- torque is NOT power. Horsepower, while not a perfect measurement of power, is the rate at which torque is delivered and is a much better measurement. My 1/2 inch impact wrench has 425 ft-lbs of torque but it wouldn't power a geo metro up a hill.

  • @duanedragon2 aint it funny it gets all that torque just using the air we breathe...

  • Slicks and burnout contest don't really go together.

  • Jay should have left the slicks off, and went with a more conventional tire. I think he might have done much better and left a longer scratch mark if he had of. That G.N was getting to good of traction with those slicks he mounted on it..

  • lol it's just a normal six cylinder with an added turbo!

  • must be an old video. look how much dark hair jay has!

  • even tho im a ford man, looked to me like that grand national had slicks on, bit too sticky for a burnout comp.

  • @2525Jake on street they don't stick quiet as good as the track, but too much sidewall in my opinion.. once it starts going a little sideways, it's going to keep going. lol

  • this conversation is much to boring lets spice it up.....

Chevys are brutal!!! they shouldn't even be allowed on the road.. fords kick ass...

now. lets watch the sparks fly. haha

  • emokidsscare, your comment is very umm... how do i say this.... uhhh....... FUCKIN STUPID

  • sexy ass GN!!

  • ford is the best as chevy sinks like a rock and it sitts at the stating gate like that 2xD lol

  • horsepower is horsepower no matter how many cylinders it comes from, the thing u want for burnouts is torque!

  • yeah true!

  • @terran698 that depends on what kind of horsepower you are talking about RWHP in a 4 cylinder supra would not be the same if it weighed as much as a crown victoria

  • @GodlessMartyr666

4 cylinder supra? they are 6

  • @TheBeast704 actually the earlier models came in inline four, do your homework...

  • @GodlessMartyr666 inline 4? are you serious?...i didnt know they made any V4's becides the ones they put in bikes...if you ever find anything but a strait 4...let me know

  • @SebastianLong inline = straight ... hence I4 / I6 look up the Saab Sonett for a V configuration 4 cylinder engine in a car chassis. It was the Ford Taunus, it also ran the Ford Capri from 69-72. I beleive older versions of the corsair ran on a Ford Essex V4

  • well when he says "well 6 cynlinders just cant beat horsepower" i beg to differ lol. lemme pull the supra around

  • or a GT-R! lol

  • umm... all wheel drive...

  • @ads13131 And watch both of them get beat down by a stock ZR1 or a ZR1 with equal mods.

  • Buick GNX. Put a twin turbo in it and see what happens.

  • not hating on gn's lol. prefer a BAT over a tt. 2jz for life

  • Though some V8's are sick too. Put a twin turbo and nitrous in a Cobra and it'll run 9's.

  • Supra owns

  • @r0llindubs ill bring the sky-lethal...

  • @240SSONLY the hell is that lol.. only pushing 742rwhp in my 97 so if youve got anything close to that that weighs less or something with more; than youve more than likely got me lol

  • @r0llindubs its an r32 skyline lil guy... v-spec... gozilla... 2.8 with 2 fat snails... thats all im saying...

    =D

  • @r0llindubs Id match your supra against my twin turbo 03 cobra anyday...

  • @r0llindubs GN >dyno queen roll racer

  • @r0llindubs so ur gonna win a burnout contest w/ a supra? or a gt-r?

  • @r0llindubs well i could pull a zr1 around or a built ls1 or ls6 so what u know any one with a supra the things are rare to find and r just to damn expensive id rather have a muscle car and fix it up

  • @kylewest100 honestly vettes do nothing for me.. and supes are only hard to find when you look in the wrong place. take a look at my page, pretty little java black pearl monster

  • @r0llindubs WOW you dont realize That a supra can get beat by a GN-x with A/C

  • Comment removed

  • @93blkbronc any car can be beaten by another all depending on the money involved in either. my supe is decent at burnouts and can hold a launch pretty well. it is a 2 step though

  • @r0llindubs bring em out those r two str8 up race cars ull get spanked

  • @belaie404 if you say so. maybe you should take a look at my vids before you say id "get spanked"

  • @r0llindubs good plan... then put the same amount of boost you're running on the sixxer into a v8 and it's game over ;)

  • It doesn't matter what color a turbo Regal is... they will all kick ass! The Grand National is just the interior, black paint, wheels and painted bumpers. All 86 and 87 Turbo Regals had the exact same drive train. Some rear ends were posi, but everything else was the same. All this video proves is that Tim Allen's tires don't hook.

  • Classic.... The Mustang is a 1995 S-351 that was raced in the World Challenge by Tim, Bondurant, Cobb and Saleen himself... Some great days of racing.

    Great video... Thanks

  • no disrespect to either car, however If the gn didnt have drag slicks the outcome may have been different.

  • @donwonjon420

Re: GN, the turbo boost coming on also makes it hard to do a good burn out. Jay should have had the wrinkle walls at much higher pressure so they wouldn't get traction. Plus seems the "Tool Guy" has alot more seat time than Jay.

  • Tim is funny as hell, at least he had the mustang....

  • @93GTBRIAN +1

  • excuse the fuck outta me! i was out of it when i commented

  • thats a grand national it was painted red it was origanally black ken duttweiller is the owner the v6turbo gn master google it n learn

  • sorry to ruin all ur alls fun but thats a regal not a grand nation. only grand nationals are black not red

  • .....it's called a paint job dude....anyone can grab a sanding block and primer the car and then base coat it and clear coat it...well maybe not anyone but anyoen can pay for it.....

  • it's because he is more popular than them!! his late night show was on TV 4 years vs. a few months. otherwise everything would be way different!!!!!

  • they should do this again lol

  • godda love both those guys.. i was excided to see this lol

  • Comment removed

  • NOW THATS WHAT I CALL A FUCK BUICK WO WO

  • Ford agian!

  • im a ford guy all day, but those grand nationals....are nice....t types too....the older chevy's...before the impala went front wheel...i liked chevy....then i got introduced to MUSTANG....still, id take a GN all day

  • and then tim goes ho ho ho :)

  • that sr is sick

  • I'd love to have either car.

  • o ya

  • Their both pretty badass it would be a good race

  • i'd love to see those 2 cars drag. the grand national would smoke that pusstang.

  • I'd love to see those 2 cars go around a track. the mustang would smoke that gay national.

  • well yess of course!!! the national is a drag car, the saleen is a race car!

  • @ads13131 AROUND A TRACK OFF COURSE IT WILL BUT IN A DRAG RACE THAT MUSTANG WOULDN'T STAND A CHANCE BOTH CARS ARE BUILT FOR THERE OWN THING THIS KHISANTH76 DESERVES A BULLET TO THE HEAD HA

  • lol

  • that has nothing to do with burnouts. It's about what type of motor setup thats in the car. The GN made its power up top hence the shorter burnout compared to Saleen mustang that has 8 cylinder platform that makes loads of torqe/hp down low.

  • yeah

  • @JerZeyFiveOh Nah the stock Buick Grand National has dragster tires and more grip.

  • @websuspect, its easier to spin slicks, then dr's/street tires. Once they are hot they hook no matter what.

  • I don't think so, Tim.

  • ahahahahaahahah Al Borland!!! xD good one!!!!

  • @khisanth76 HAHAHA YEA SURE IT WILL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • i got a 87 g.n. lightly modified.. and a stock 88 monte s.s... people would think im a hard core g.m. guy but id kill for a 03-04 svt cobra... i dont give a shit if its a chevy, ford, mopar as long as its american muscle.. both these cars are sick.. but 2 totally dif cars ment for 2 totally dif types of raceing... any true motor head would know that g.n. would spank the stang in the 1/4, but vise versa if they were on a road course.. but still, 2 awsome cars here in this vid..
