I am sorry... she's not bad but I personally think that she's just singing it just cause.. like she ain't feeling every word of the song.... i don't feel the passion. Simon was right!!
Why were they so mean to her? I agree with that older post: how can she sound as karaoke when she's got only a piano?! I thought she was briliant :P Definitely deserved a spot in the top 10 (some of the male contestants were plain awful... she was better!!).
I think she shoulda had more diversity in the strenghth and Dynamics in the song, when she shoulda been soft she just got mad hard with the vocals and when she grunted in some places it was just so unneeded. Im not sayin she can't sing but I think she focussed on trying to sound like Whitney at her strongest(cuz one of the major things Whitney is known for)
I can't believe Simon was so harsh! She sounded really good. He should at least EXPLAIN why it sounded like Karaoke so she could use his advice in the future. He wasn't even advising her here, just flat out told her she sucked, when in reality she didn't. No one can question her powerful vocals.
american idol was shit in the first season... my god.
