wtf lmao, you can play as a spriggan, jesus spriggans would rape all the other races, mabey a demigod would compare to it, but fuck... spriggan is awesome
Yay! a new game! I love rogue like games. I still play Moria (MAC) and Omega (Mac/PC) all the time. Try explaining to a kid what a game with no graphics is, lol.
@ziodice Actually no. I am quite happy that the games I played at that age are still being played. Most kids your age can't play a game more than a few years old. My nephews drive me nuts. Between the five of them their house is a digital circus.
@skywize I'm trying to teach my 13 year old friend to play nethack, and when I said, "When you die, you die forever" he was like "OMGWHAAAAAAT? BUT WHAT IF I'M NEAR THE END???" and I was like "Well....you have to start over." and he was like "......"
@ziodice No saving?....... NO!!!!!!! lol! Actually, there was a dirty way to save in a game called Mac Moria. It was a pain, but that is how I learned to play those games. You may want to try a game called Omega. I found it pretty cool. You get gods to choose from, different dungeons, the wild, and different jobs.
@skywize How do I get it? I download the one that said ms-something, which was the only thing that wasn't mac or linux, and I can't get it to run in dosbox, or just by doubleclicking
@ziodice ok, you must have Win 7? I remember getting those to work in XP. Regardless, if you search google for the words "omega roguelike", The second item on the list should be Prankster. Click that one, and there is a version for Windows. Omega for Windows v0.2 (0.90.4)
@ziodice Do I? No. Have I? Yes. I tend to play every rogue-like I can get my hands on, but I stay away from anything too simple. In other words, if a game looks too much like something I've already played, I don't bother.... Thus, Omega, lol. By the way, you may want to check out Fate or Torchlight. Same theme as Moria, but some great graphics.... and saves... lol
@skywize Do you tend to stay away from roguelikes with guns? Because there was this really good one I played called Infra Arcana. It's still in development, I believe. I really like it
@ziodice Never heard of it, but I just DLed it. No problem with guns. One of my favorites, though I don't recall the name, was an end-time scenario. You started off with a stick, then found a straw for spitballs, and eventually had six shooters and ray guns (as far as I recall anyway). Also, you had a job of some sort. I wish I could remember... It was a Mac version.
@skywize Ok, I got it. The game was called BOSS. you can find the Windows version at dungeon_keeper.republika.pl. It's basically a cyberpunk version of Nethack. Also, you should really check out a game called Avernum. I played rogues for a few years before learning about Avernum. I fell in love, and I've played it and it's sequels ever since.
@skywize I'm 11 (don't tell anyone) and roguelikes are one of my favorite genres. Right now I'm playing Dwarf Fortress, Nethack, Slash'EM, and Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup.
@1337snake888 If you like the genre and don't mind text based mapping, I suggest both Omega and BOSS. Both are easy enough to find with google. Just type in "rogue-like (game name)". Omega is better in my opinion, but it's also quicker to beat.
@Real45ish Note both rogue like and multilayer no. If you like the Moria type games, you may like the Avernum series. It's a bit like Ultima, but offline. If you like more character centered play, Runescape is a mmorpg with years of game play and all sorts of things to do. If you want a more friendly community, Dragon Court II from ffiends dot com is a bit graphically challenged, but has the best (small) group of die hard players. It's very easy to make friends there.

@skywize This seems pretty good. What's with the questions though? Haha

@ziodice It aligns your character towards certain things like wisdom and strength. I do seem to remember them being quite funny as well.

@skywize Do you know of any good multiplayer (as in LAN party or just not MMO but party-based) Dungeon Crawler, preferably with graphics?

@skywize Thanks. I already play RS, and the only thing that comes close to dungeon crawling is dungeoneering. I'll check out the other ones

@Real45ish Wyvern the graphical MUD, if it's still around, is essentially an MMO Roguelike.
