  • aaaah absolutely brilliant have loved these songs since i was a kid and these live versions are the nuts as they say in engerland xx ty so much

  • Frankie was very talented for his age.

  • This is the first time I can actually hear the great Teenagers singing backup to Frankie. Usually the engineers have them drowned out by Frankie. This is a real treat!. Thank you for posting this. Think I'll listen to it again!

  • Back In The Day, The Song: Why Do Fools Fall In Love: Those Were The Good Old Days.

  • Back in the 50's, This Song was always sung on the streets in New York, Little kids and teenagers all went for this Song. This Song was always very good. I'll Never forget. I was in a concert in Carnegie Hall when a lot of teenagers came out on the stage and sung this song just like it was on the record. That's the night I'll never forget. It was the year in 1956. I Hope there is still someone out there in New York that was there in Carnegie that night in June in 1956.

  • ooly poppa kow pop a kow kow (or something like that) what a great opening...

  • @atomotma LOL...that's pretty damn close...and what a great record all through...

  • @atomotma eeh doombah d-doombah d-doombah duhh duhh

  • much respect but not only frankie wrote those lyrics one of the teenagers did the real lead singer but frankie lymon is very talented so its a good thing he was the leader rest in peace

  • HAAHA i thought a woman wuz singing XD but its one of my favurite songs

  • @lilpims21 I think that happened after this performance...that particular incident is what cost Freed his syndicated television show...this one is from a syndicated radio show...I have to agree it was much ado about nothing, but back then, most people unfortunately didn't feel that way...and ironically, the Teenagers were one of the first black (and Puerto Rican) groups to gain wide public acceptance

  • i wish u actually had thisperformance it would have been sweet to see it

  • damn i wish i could see the live performance, that would be cool!

  • Eggman. In 1979 at Eyewittnes News we had Clay Cole who was a great friend of Frankies.

Frank would come around and beg him for 20.00 bucks so he could buy some H..So sad....he fell from grace at a fast pace...many other groups were filling the theaters....Frankie ODs, I think he was about 24????? He lives on my CDs How sad...................

  • @ejtomson how u know he went to by h.....

  • man one great song that let the cat out of the bag! youth is great!

  • if frankie would have stayed with the group he might still be alive

  • @790graham Maybe...but from I remember reading, they all were experimenting at the time...the real problem that sent him over the edge was his voice changing...as soon as it got ordinary, his career totally died

  • @thecountofbasie so true

  • The Teenagers and The Platters were the core of the sound coming out of the sandwich shoppes in the 50's on the East Coast. It was a great time to be a kid. After the 60's it was all downhill as far as the ambience of the sound in the air making a chill run down the spine.

  • @thewindrunner I think the Platters and the Teenagers were at opposite ends of the spectrum as far as style...I got bored with the Platters pretty quickly...never lost my appreciation for that poor little misguided kid. So many greats leave the stage too soon
