HISTORY LESSON: The first person to build and fly a heavier-than-air machine was the New Zealander Richard Pearce who flew 9 months before The Wright Brothers. The Wright Brothers were the first people to perform what is called ‘controlled’ flight. The first person to actual build & fly a mechanised plane was Richard Pearce.
@CanterburyAtheists oh get OVER it! you just shot yourself in the foot. you even said yourself, it was a CONTROLLED flight. that triumphs an uncontrolled failure cuz no one wants to advance that.
The point is I like nice people who do nice things no matter where they come from. Back home in middle east in my country we have lots of these kind of people but unfortunatley they did not cut the attention of the movie makers to become world famouse

It's wrong, Clément Ader (1:18) is not crush during his first flight with the Eole.

Now some people do fly to work lol, if they are like engineers or something working on bridges they have to be "flown" to work.

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology on aviation:
*Why do we love flying?
*Why do we relate flying with our full potentials and with our successes?
*Why do we use the phases "take off" and "fly high" as a kind of adjectives to describe our success of our hard working?
*Why do we used the word "runway" as a expression of optimistic future of a person/ a team?
*Why do we relate aviation with freedom?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!!
