  • im 22 years old... this is music... listen to the degenerates that we have nowdays... wow this is music...

  • My favorite Patsy Cline song. Her voice is so beautiful, I get teary-eyed every time I hear it!

  • What a beautiful, poignant voice from an angel. God, thanks for letting her join us for awhile.

  • My father's favorite, ever. He called her his girlfriend.

He passed in August of 2011. Being he was talented singer himself, I imagine they sang a duet in heaven.

    Love you Patsy and Daddy.

  • if you dont like patsy cline id seriously check to see if youre mentally retarded

  • The definitive version of this song as is everything by Patsy.

  • 2 people didn't have speakers...beautiful voice, beautiful song, beautiful era.

  • @cigs they must have been or you wouldn't be here....now in your case they were probably not the smartest people, put your parents were certainly horny at some point.

  • When Patsy sings the angels hush.

  • i adore this song......

  • Beautiful song ! Awesome voice!

  • crazy, i fall to pieces, u belong to me, sweet dreams, shes got u are all great songs. too bad patsy never recorded "blue" written by willie nelson specifically for her...leeann rimes does a good job but thinking patsy wouldve done it better...miss u patsy!

  • see the pyramids along the niles.... i like my some patsy .. my fav is "crazy"

    rob

  • I like Ms. Page but Jo Stafford owns this song.

  • Good as Jo Stafford's, but I believe Jo owns this song.

  • first time hearing this song and i like it

  • i wanna download this :(

  • @1266Yuki You could always buy it.

  • just think the culture in which these songs where produced will NEVER exist again. its gone and all we have are the memories recorded in song. most of these songs where written by people who grew up in the 20s-30s in a different world then the one we have now...

  • One of my fav's from Patsy. Thanks for posting!

  • how to make an American quilt

  • Patsy Cline will NEVER die...NEVER!!!

  • great song .

  • salut, qui peut m aider,je recherche l artiste qui a repris cette chanson en francais dans les annees 70 ou 80 d avance merci

  • woman back then had class

  • @treelover320 If they lacked class it sure was hidden from the public, assuming that was a shame based decision. I hope I won't attract too much hostility , but I would say it is due to some 'art-forms' bordering on pornographic these days (sex sells). As an example 'sex' is everywhere, and porn today with its often scary/obscenely perverse depictions of 'sex' (if you can all it that).Preteen pop-stars dress like 'hoes'. Little girls clothing looks even worse, so glad I never had a daughter!

  • Just amazing. Patsy is one of the queens of country. she is a legend. I must learn this on piano! Please could patsy fans watch my tribute to patsy with my cover of "When I Get Through With You" on my channel? thanks

  • what other female from the 50s also did this song i am very sure it was done by someone too but cant rember

  • @goreds03 Jo Stafford had the biggest hit with it, but Patti Page also recorded it.

  • @goreds03 You'll also find a pretty good version of this by the Duprees from 1958.

  • Ruby Murray :)

  • Patsy Cline had the most beautiful voice. She would have had such an amazing array of music, had she lived. What a sad thing.

  • This was one of the first songs I ever taught myself on 15 key autoharp, but somehow I never heard this version just just now. So beautiful!

  • As long as there are those of us that remember Patsy, you never really died.

  • This is the only song where anyone put Patsy in second place. Jo Stafford ownes this song.

  • @notAbba ........maybe, but, I wouldn't want to live on the differance.

  • The greatest female county singer of all time Patsy Cline no one will ever sound so good.

GOD BLESS & thank you for all your songs xxxx

    SWEET DREAMS PATSY XXXX

  • Archetypal union of opposites

  • France's first lady Carla Bruni also has a nice version of this.

  • this takes me back to when I was a schoolkid still love it now

  • PERFECTION

  • The 2 dislikes needs a new hearing aid or they're into head banger music!

  • this is my favorite patsy cline song.. she was my grandfathers favorite. he passed away in 1998 and still to this day i love sitting listening to her and playing it loud in my car and people look at me like really. she was beautiful.my grandfather is dancing with patsy up above..

  • @TXBluebird What a sweet story you have to tell about this lovely song. I am so sorry to read about your dear Dianne - what a dreadful thing to happen to one so young but take comfort from this song she shared qwith you. I, too, know she is still singing but with Patsy herself as her singing partner and that she is still returning your love.

  • This was my grandfathers and grandmothers song.. His sister sang it at his funeral... <3

  • Out of all of Patsy's songs, this one and Sweet Dreams are my top favorites of hers :) I only know of Patsy because of the movie "Sweet Dreams" with Jessica Lange. I fell in love with Patsy and still love her :)

  • Patsy Cline had a voice of tenor, baritone, & bass all mixed in one super smooth textured sound! She was a professional and natural at portraying it! There will never be another match! Some have come close, but not a match in my book! Leanne Rimes has come very close! Thanks! Hat is off!

  • Oh such a beautiful song, my best teacher who was also my front door neigbhor loved this song and would sihg it in 196Os, ever time I hear it I remember my teacher Mary Doucette, may God bless her soul

  • @guatefreddie God Bless you. So WONDERFUL to remember "Old Teachers" Most of my high school teachers from the same era have gone Beyond the Sunset:

  • This shall be my wedding song. =D

  • I love u Patsy

  • I wish Patsy and Dolly dueted. Both Legends of music ! RIP Patsy

  • Patsy Cline Was And Still Is A Wonderful And Beautiful Coountry Music Star. The Song Is A Big Memory For Me I Like To Imagine That I Have My Certain Someone In My Arms And Never Let HIm Go Because He Blongs To Me.:)

  • nice song , but my favorite one is crazy.

  • I want to say this is my favorite Patsy Cline song but she just has too many great ones it's impossible to just pick one lol

  • @HalfFastChevy OK, I just saw your profile and it says you're 42 ... so you're not actually OLD, you just act like you are. And sux is spelled S-U-X. (The X provides the "ssssssss" sound :D ... just tryin' to help you out of the "fud-dud" category ... you're welcome!)

  • @FOOFOOKITTY Sux is sux - suxes is when it REALLY REALLY sux. You are obviously an immature girl who can't accept anyone's opinion if it isn't in line with your own. You have a right to your opinion, of course, but I stand by my original statements:

1 - Christina is a very mediocre singer

2- Once Patsy recorded a song, she flat owned that song forever. Nobody should bother trying to cover one of her songs. They simply cannot do it justice.

  • @HalfFastChevy ... awww, so sweet of you to call me a 'girl' ;-) even tho I could be your mom (my eldest is 41) & I have no problem whatsoever accepting opinions that differ with mine as long as they're within the realm of reasonability. But your flatout statement that "nobody should bother TRYING to cover one of her songs" is so UNreasonable! I've sung Crazy and had some in my audience telling me they enjoyed it MORE than Patsy's version. ALL singers should feel free to sing ANYTHING!

  • @HalfFastChevy Oh ... AND 1. Christina is one of the great pop voices of a generation & 2. I have a Master's in Vocal Performance ... what are your Critic's credentials?? & 3. "Suxes" is never gonna catch on ... just sayin' :D

  • @FOOFOOKITTY 1 - Al your back and forth B.S. is getting ridiculous

    2 - My credentials? I have ears.

    3 - My oldest is 45.

4 - Is your name Lisa Layne? Unless it is, I cannot imagine you singing this song or any other as well as Patsy did. Just saying. \\ : = )

  • @HalfFastChevy ... Well, Sir HalfFast, if this "back and forth" is getting ridiculous, how come YOU replied?? And if you have a kid who's 45, perhaps 1. you shouldn't lie about your age on your profile, and 2. you might be a little hard of hearing, and 3. of COURSE you can't "imagine" my singing because you clearly are lacking in imagination ( "Just saying"?? O c'mon, think up something original!) in addition to being out-of-touch with reality. Great covers aren't just IMMITATIONS of originals!

  • @FOOFOOKITTY I don't know whose profile you're looking at, but I never filled one out. Bye

  • Sublime!

  • Next to Jo Stafford's '52 version, this is my #2 favorite version of an all-time Masterwork. The Nashville Legend, Owen Bradley, The Jordanaires, & Patsy's classic voice make this unforgettable. Wolfsky9

  • jason wade's is my favorite version. lifehouse <3

  • imagine you're listening to this song on the beach, as the sun goes down.

  • The one and only Miss Patsy Cline

  • Thanks for posting, I love this rendition

  • LONG LIVE PATSY!!!!!

  • My Favorite is the 1957 version sung by Jim Reeves

  • gorgeous

  • ...I believe Jo Stafford took this to #1 1952..?

Of course Patsy Cline's version is one of the best..!

  • I wish Christina Aguilera would do a tribute album to Patsy. She has the pipes to carry it off.

  • @Supremecougar ... Agreed! Would love to hear Christina do some classic stuff ... she does have the pipes for it!

  • @FOOFOOKITTY Christina who??? Patsy was and is the one and only. Anyone who tries to remake one of her songs is just wasting their time and embarassing themselves. Nobody has ever touched Patsy, or ever will.

  • @HalfFastChevy ... AGUILERA ... Christina Aguilera. It's all well and good to be "stuck" on a certain artist, but let's face it, singers who become very popular do so because of their unique sound/style/artistry/etc. I agree there will never be anyone LIKE Patsy, but I don't think other great singers are "wasting their time & embarassing themselves" when they do covers. Your viewpoint is hopelessly narrowminded. Also, you must be something of an old fuddy duddy. ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • @HalfFastChevy Oh you are SO a fuddy duddy! ;-)

  • WONDERFUL

    ABSOLUTELY A FANTASTIC SONG

    A GREAT VOICE

    THANK YOU

    THUMBS UP*****

  • I love this song...i listen to alotta hip hop...but i appreicate good music like this, theres something abt 50's and 60's music that sets you to a dream state...plus a girl that im starting to like kissed for the first time while this song played from a movie called "planet terror"..thx for the soothing sound!

  • This song is my wedding song one of my top five.

    God Bless Patsy XXXXX

  • We had someone singing this on our Idols in South Africa............brought tears to my eyes! I love Patsy ;KLein

  • My Mom wanted a Daughter to sing like Patsy. And she got me.

  • @shoshone69123 I need a mom I sounds EXACTLY like patsy but I is really ugly....you want an ugly step sister??? LOLOLOL

  • Patsy, The Jordanaires that rich Nashville sound of the early 1960's.It would never be better and it never will. The Jordanaires were at their most prolific(and best) at that time backing Patsy,Elvis,Ricky Nelson on most of their biggest hits as well as scores of other pop, rock and country artist.

  • great song

  • great song

  • The Greatest county lady singer of all time, this is my wedding song.

    A Great Love Song.

    Thanks.

  • It's funny how Patsy Cline's videos still get views literally all the time. For example, a comment may say "2 days ago." You don't find that a lot. Even for singers of this generation. She made an enormous impact to country music as well as pop too. She will always be a legend.

  • It's always a toss-up, this or Jo Stafford--they are both just so perfectly, beautifully done. Patsy had Nashville Legend Owen Bradley producing, & The Jordanaires singing backgrounds--what a combo it was. Patsy, we miss you more as the years go by. Wolfsky9, 64 y/o Today.

  • One of my long lasting faves from the late lt.egend Patsy Cline.. thanks for uploading it. Clicked 169 !

  • As good a version of this song as has ever been done. IMO.

  • Patsy is so special! Only time some could move me the same, is LeAnn Rimes, singing I FALL TO PIECES!

  • This song gives me a sweet calm feeling-Her voice is so pure it just soothes me so.

One of my favorites, but I love everything she sings!

  • Beautiful... simply beautiful...

  • You Belong to Me" is a pop music ballad from the 1950s. The singer reminds his she experiences, "you belong to me." It is credited to three writers: Pee Wee King, Chilton Price, and Redd Stewart. Price wrote most of the song, and ceded equal credit to the other two in exchange for their work in promoting it....

  • @ohstewartsr I appreciate your comment, but all of that info is in my note section attached to each and every video I have posted...Nocaro

  • @Nocaro tis was added as a note for my brother Redd Stewart

was one of the writers to make it into a love song from the

    original war style song.........Harold Stewart

  • @ohstewartsr Well, thanks for the note. It is one beautiful song and I'm sure you must be very proud of your brother...Nocaro

  • @ohstewartsr Hi! My aunts and mom used to sing with your brother! They were the Morgan sisters. I've heard about your brother all my life!

  • @Nocaro tis was added as a note for my brother Redd Stewart

was one of the writers to make it into a love song from the

original war style song.........Harold Stewart Sr

  • @ohstewartsr And sir, it's well to recall that as this was in fact, a CW song as 1st written, it was Linda Scott , a CW vocalist of the 50's, who 1st released her version. Patti Page followed, adding her overdub style. It remained for Band leader Paul Weston, courting Jo Stafford, to create the Masterwork we all know. Then, in '61, Owen Bradley added The Jordanaires to Patsy with another gorgeous arrangement--& thus--her classic rendition. I love them both --& The Duprees too. Wolfsky9

  • lOVE THIS Pats Cline WAS AND IS STILL THE BEST EVER!!!

  • I'm 17 years Old But I really Love This Music :$

think I'm Born Really To Late!!

  • @HCprincess88 Ha can't help but laugh sorry not making fun because you sound alot like me with saying you like older music because I am 16 right now going to be 17 In oct. and I can't go a day with out Patsy Cline or some older music I like all types of music but i really like the older stuff and I just can't get enough of Patsy Cline. P.S. Please respond and my name is Derrick :)

  • i remember when i had to give up my kitten because my mom didnt like it i went in my room, listened to this room on repeat and cried. ah the good ol' days with patsy.

  • god bless u patsy!!

  • MY Gosh..I'm OLD!! This is music!! Not about my"HO" and busin 'caps in someones ass!! WHAT?? I miss this and KLAC COUNRTY in Los Angeles..

  • Patsy Cline's music has always been a part of my life. My sister who was 7 yrs older used to play her music and we would sing along with it. My sister died when she was 25 in a terrible car accident and the fondest memories I have are those of us sitting and singing along with Patsy - this song was my favorite of hers. Patsy's voice was powerful yet soothing. Isn't it a shame when we lose those we love too soon. My dear Deanna I miss you so and hope you are singing with Patsy in heaven.

  • @TXBluebird Nice post...thanks...Nocaro

  • @Nocaro No thank you for posting it because now I can listen any time I want. Blessings to you. :)

  • @TXBluebird Your welcome...still in Raleigh, but I did live in Charlotte for 12 years...only city I ever lived in that I despised, but Pineville is not too bad.

  • Hello, I´m sorry about your sister, you know I love Patsy, I´m from Argentina and we don´t hear your folk country music, but I am very lucky because I know Patsy Cline and I can hear her music, her voice make me cry. My husband and I are musicians, and we do a version of Crazy and Tennesse Waltz, now we´re tryang You belong to me. It´s a lovely song, we got it inmediatelly. Just wanted to share it with you. I think Deanna is, as you say, singing along with Patsy.

  • @bandalit Thank you. Wow, Argentina - a very interesting and beautiful place. You should post some of your music on here so we can all listen. I love "Crazy" and the "Tennessee Waltz". Best wishes to you and your husband in Argentina.

  • @TXBluebird Thank you for responding, yes, we will post these songs we´re playing and I would like to know what do you think about them, see you soon, here.

  • gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous

  • Escuchar esto es una delicia para mis oidos, es absolutamente maravilloso.como todos los temas de Patsy Cline, la amo

  • Just a very lovely song..brings back lovely memories...of a gentler time & place..her voice like silk & honey...too bad she had to leave us at such a tender young age...Miss you Patsy..

  • Without kd lang and the Reclines I maybe would have never listen to Patsy Cline - and wouldn´t even know what I missed! Thank you, kd... Patsy´s music is just great.

  • i miss leeanne. :(

  • the woman had pipes of gold. too bad she went so early in her career. she could have been like tammy wynette.

  • the most beautiful song she ever did sing... i love you patsy!

  • Pick a topic: Patsy Cline vs Karen Carpenter - talk amongst yourselves! My heart belongs to Karen, as she was the comforting voice of my youth. While I had always been aware of Patsy, it's only very recently that I "rediscovered" her. I have never heard a voice that makes any of the background vocals & music seem like fill. Her voice rises far above the overall recordings

  • Greatest lady singer of all time powerful voice.

    The Best.

    God Bless You Patsy Cline.

    ..........

  • Patsy at her very best. She is one of a handful of country stars that introduced country music to the rest of the world. She has a voice you can recognize immediately. A wonderful artist that will live forever in her music. Patsy

    we will always love you

  • Absolutely beautiful! So romantic... The perfect song for all the lovers who have been separated by life or by distance.

  • Fantastic. Love Tori's take on it too.

  • Such a lovely song!! High school memories.

  • My mom sings just like Patsy Cline.. She has dressed up and competed in look alike/sing alike contests and has made me listen to her my whole life. She's truely her biggest fan I think! haha She even performed an Always Patsy Cline show once. I have to say Patsy has grown on me, but this is one of my favs of her:)

  • patsy was good, so was jo stafford, but bob dylan did a mighty fine job

  • this is my favorite patsy cline song to perform. :)

  • Absolutely beautiful - thanks for posting ! ! !

I'm trying to build a worldwide music archive like nine other -

500 playlists so far with 8000 songs. 350 artists and a list for every year since 1900 to let you listen to the sounds of any past year as if you've stepped back in time. THis song is now on Patsy's playlist and on the 1962 list, thanks!

  • With due respect to all, Jo Stafford's version is still the finest. That said, both Patsy --with Owen Bradley & The Jordainires, did a masterful version. So did the Duprees, with George Paxton's arrangement. All 3 are wonderful, but folks, no one ever did it like Miss Jo, with Paul Weston's magnificent arrangement. Hers is the all-time, definitive vocal of this great song.

  • Patsy could sing anyone's song and make it her own! What a majestic voice. Even my children love this song ( as well as patsy altogether), I introduced her to them when they were very young. Although they are still quite young, they still request to hear her...particularly this song. Wonderful, wonderful...thanks so much for the post!

  • wonderful, love this, this lady will never be forgotten, thanks for uploadin this, ann ✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿

  • patsy cline the best women country singer ever

  • I Thaught This Was Jazz ????

  • With all respect to the Duprees this song sounds better with a woman singing it. Jo Stafford was always my favorite but Patsy comes in tied for first.

  • I think I agree with you...it was composed by a woman so...

  • @essexlph with all respect, I firmly disagree. The duprees had the definitive version. Women's voices are too high pitched and irritating some times.

  • @essexlph I heartily agree with you; both Jo & Patsy were made to sing this song, & the arrangements by Owen Bradley & Paul Weston brought out their voices so perfectly. Sadly, we no longer get to hear Jo's version on You Tube, but Patsy's is wonderful too. Wolfsky9

  • @essexlph I disagree. I bet Roy Orbison could have done a lot with this song. How does it sound better with a girl singer? High pitched caterwallin' is not good singing.

  • LOVE.LOVE LOVE THISD ONE 10STARS!!

  • She's still the best !!!

  • Where's the picture of the marketplace in old Algiers?

  • Another good one

  • Listen to that beautiful voice,no one can ever match it ,Patsy Cline is the best ever!!! 15 stars.

  • ♥¸.•**•.¸♥¸.•**•.¸♥¸.•**•.¸ ♥♥¸.•**•.¸♥¸.•**•.¸♥

    Thank You So very Much...

  • 2nd year high school memories

  • Only great voices like Jo & Patsy could do this masterpiece, the Justice it so deserves. Fabulous arrangements by Paul Weston with Jo, & Owen Bradley with Patsy, gave both woman the means to make this song, each--their very own. it just doesn't ever--EVER--get any better than this. Wolfsky9

  • I SO AGREE, I love Jo's version BEST and then Patsy's here... BOTH Greats...

  • @DERedhead65 I favor the country

version of the song by Patsy over that

    of Jo Stafford.

  • I like the Duprees version of this better.

  • Patsys version is the best. Nothing against that Jo girl. But she has this quality about her voice thats just ethereal.

  • Love this song! Thanks

  • Next to Jo Stafford's Classic Pop version, made so great with her vocals & Paul Weston's arrangement, this version--Patsy, the Legendary Jordanaires, & Produced by The Nashville Master, Owen Bradley--is my close #2 favorite. Both my Parents--who loved Jo, also loved this version. Patsy, you made it your own--a true, Classic. GBY, Forever. Wolfsky9

  • there is no reason for anyone else to record this song. thank you patsy.

  • One of my all time favorites! I love you Patsy! thank you for posting this

  • @drsambclass.enough said.
