  • holy shit that tire has a lot of horsepower

  • Do you have a tut or something posting your settings for the tire smoke? They are really quite good. Would be very thankful, but no worries.

  • @albertolindesign im sry to tell you i dont have the max file anymore :(

  • if i c a random tire doing a burnout in the middle of the street i would scream! thumbs u, no im not a noob.

  • hahhhahhaahhah

  • extreme realism

  • but the smoke should be more dark.

  • now I don't know why game developers can't put this in there games because lets be honest there aren't any games with realistic tire smoke

  • @FM3TEAMHPI somone asked the same question... i answered it.. check it.. its not so easy to implement such smoke in a game in real time

  • @ravand1990 ok thanks anyway

  • @ravand1990 Due to real time- rendering o so many particles right?

  • @ravand1990 So, it would take a computer with maxed out everything to do one burnout? Come on technology! MOVE!

  • @FM3TEAMHPI The most realistic smoke you can get in a game as far as I know is in Mafia II. You can burnout and then drive through the smoke and it reacts and moves. Look it up on youtube.

  • @FM3TEAMHPI They can't put this type of smoke in unless your system/console has like 15 cards of high end ram and a lot of CPU power. On an average laptop/computer, it would be the laggest game ever. Notice how games have shit textures but their software can run better textures? It's not the rendering computer, it's the output.

  • That's excellent well done.

  • great stuffs. Shadows are pretty decent

  • They should use this in racing games!!!

  • can you add some sort of wind to it? :)

  • lol, where's the car?

  • ........whats that burning smell?

  • Why can't they have those realistic burnouts in video game

  • @Clemsonkilz

i said that to someone before... imagine... this simulation took about 1 hour to calculate (only the smoke) and the rendering took about 2-3 hours... now recalcuate how much FPS you would have in a game with such long wait time .... not possible... not now

  • @ravand1990 we're much closer to this in real time than you might think. all these renders by 3dsmax, blender etc etc are done by the CPU, while video games are rendered by the graphics card. Graphics card are MUCH faster than CPU and we're only a few years away from seeing these kind of fluids in realtime engines.

  • @Symixable your talking about GPU renderng... indeed GPU is alot faster than CPU rendering but your missing out 1 thing namely the simulation part which needs CPU power... with every frame u have to calculate millions of voxels... we will have to wait a little more until we can reach real time rendering with such results

  • @ravand1990

yes, most game engines these days use CPU to simulate physics, but some of them can use GPU/special accelerator card (physix) it can already simulate water physics on a small scale pretty efficiently (using 5 years old hardware), it's only a matter of time before the graphics hardware is strong enough to simulate smoke similar to fumefx.

  • @ravand1990 Mafia 2 uses PhysX for smoke and it looks and flows more realistically than this. It looks like CPU rendering is just inefficient. Unless of course it was rendered for a movie.

  • I don't think you even need such realistic rendering like this to achieve a great fire/smoke effect in a realtime game. A lot can be done with animated image particles and raw simulation

  • @bonkswa thats right its all about to create the illusion of realism... but in this case i mean this 3d scene would take ages to be real time

  • @ravand1990 that game would be so awfull to play ;p this is nicely done by the way, it looks very real :)

  • @ravand1990 whats under your hood? how much time would it take for a 1gb of 2gbRAMavailable 1GbVMem and 2.8c2d

  • @NinjaBoyFuto atm i have a new PC but when i rendered that i had 4gb ram and a intel duo 3.3

  • @ravand1990 sweet

  • @Clemsonkilz it would be to hard on most pcs

  • @Clemsonkilz dont worry mate, computers are the fastest developing technology we have. if the next consoles have designated physic cards, we will have something very similar in video games. look up "physx" you might enjoy it.

  • @MrLuc420 cool thanks for answer. i dont really like computer games wen u think they will have graphics like this for consuls(like ps3 or xbox)? or do u think they will ever have graphics like this on consuls

  • @Clemsonkilz consoles are nothing more than pc's optimized for gaming. current generation consoles definitely wont have anything like this. but considering that nintendo announced its new console, and xbox and ps3 graphics are starting to really show their age, im pretty sure microsoft and sony wont delay. those new consoles will be a hige step forward in terms of graphics. comparable to the differences between the last gen consoles and current gen consoles. well have something very similar then

  • @MrLuc420 hey, the only reason why pc has bigger requirments then console for games is becouse the software is optimized for the games, for PC that would be realy hard since almost everybody has different things in hes PC

  • @kill4kill2kil no not really. ever notice how pc games say "for windows" or "for mac" because everyone who has windows 7 has windows 7. and windows 7 actually functions very similarily as the xbox os. the only difference is that the xbox only has 1 type of graphics card. so in order for the console to still be succesful, microsoft has to push that graphics card to the limit. with pc's people tend to simply buy new graphics cards, therefore companies like nvidia, instead of spending resoources on

  • @MrLuc420 nope.avi

  • @kill4kill2kil upgrading their old cards, they spend resources on manufacturing new cards which will run better and smoother than their old cards, no matter how much they upgrade them.

  • great work, looks almost real

  • That was amazing just a few things you need more frames it was a little laggy for me or just render it some more and when you drift the smoke doesn't go that far towards the camera the shadows where a little weird and yea that's it don't take this comment the wrong way this is freaking awesome! oh yeah and one more thing what JonBj2 said:If I didn't already know it was an animation I would have assumed it was the real thing(except for the tire not being attached to anything, of course)

  • @videogame59 thank you for your constructive comment :) i think i mentioned that early somewhere but if i had enough resources i could have done this animation ALOT better.. but unfortunately my pc is too slow :S

  • @ravand1990 oh I didn't know that sooo... yeah this vid is still awesome!

  • @videogame59 thank you :)

  • Next step is to lay an invisible barrier of the rest of the car for the smoke to glide over... awesome

  • Tutorial PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • I think smoke is the hardest to model!

I was really happy when it was put into GT5 :)

  • lol invisible boatmobile

  • @ArifRiwuKore haahha very nice comment

  • @ArifRiwuKore yeah with one wheel

  • @ArifRiwuKore beast comment hahaha

  • @ArifRiwuKore beast comment hahaha

  • I used the same picture for my animation in PS :P

And I was like is this is mine ?

  • watch out with the police

  • @tobykanito haha nice 1

  • If I didn't already know it was an animation I would have assumed it was the real thing(except for the tire not being attached to anything, of course)

  • @JonBj2 thx mate always glad to hear that

  • Hi, like a lot the effect.

Would you like to share the settings?

    Thank you

  • Oh Shit O_o

  • i knew it was an animation before I watched it, but for entertainment purposes, I told my brain to believe that it was real. And I swear man; I thought I was watching the real thing. Good job!

  • @MapleLeafAce im glad to hear that! the good thing about that is.. this is not even the full potential of the tool im using.. if i had more patient or more resources for rendering i would have done that 10times better

  • Tell me what hardware do you use an dhow it took to render this?

  • @OrkaNSZ i have a dual core 3.2ghz cpu; 4gb ram this render didnt take me so long. because the background was a still image and the only thing which was rendered is the smoke and the tire... only 2-3 hours

  • @ravand1990 - thank you

  • what would be max without all the plugins? A sh**ity software?

  • @alienpioneer hell no..i think you get it wrong... this ist just my personal configuration.. you can achieve goals like this even without plugins... you can also ask yourself "what would max be without realflow or maya etc." ... they use to work together...you use 3ds max as a kind of base tool... like your hands :P what would your hands be without a hammer and a pen? ;)

  • @ravand1990 Hi ! Nice effect ! Perhaps a bit too transparent in some places, but it's nice .

About the tool. I think that our hand are our hands, and the hammer is the tool.If the tools needs an extension, and you pay a lot of money as the tools changes , and you need new extensions as well.

Wouldn't to be best if you buy another tool that has all by default?

Please do not take it personally ! i just don't like max ! Cheers !

  • @alienpioneer it's ok mate :) thats after all your opinion and i appreciate your comments... comments like these make the conversation here more "vivid" so to say ;)... i just tried to make it as figurative as possible :P.. and ye plugins make 3ds max WAY better :) but in my opinion thats not someting to blame on 3ds max ^^

  • @ravand1990 you are a nice fellow. I really apreciate you...

  • @alienpioneer thx :) your always welcome good sir

  • @alienpioneer 3ds max is like a DSLR camera, you need to pay some good lens, flash, etc to make a good stuff... its not like a pocket camera that has all feature in one product but the quality not good as DSLR, and take time to achive same quality as DSLR did in photoshop (if its posible) :D

  • @psycronicx

Hi! Thanks for the advice !

  • Awesome.

  • holy moly!

  • nice lighting

  • @TDO615 thx mate

  • Awesome! can u send me the settings?

  • @dussan007 unfrotunetely i cant find my max file anymore...when i find i i think im going to upload the max file here

  • how long did simulation take?

  • @Zyg11zag this one only took a few hours because the background wasnt needed to be rendered ;) only thetire and the smoke

  • Wow realistic job here! the shadows and the ligths are perfect. Great job dude.

  • Well you told me I suck balls, I made that tutorial when I was a beginner. I'll have to say I really like this animation though.

  • @Blender3danimator rofl xD dont take that too serious lol

  • very well done, it took a long time to render such animation ?

  • @loubano this 1 didnt need much rendertime because the background was a still image... as far as i remember only about 4 hours

  • @ravand1990

It's really an impressive Job and very good quality, it lokks so real !!!!

Congradualtion for this nice Work !!!

  • @loubano thx mate

  • what u have use for background.......

  • @sumitchhatani i just searched for "street" in google xD

  • nice job. it's amazing.....

  • good job man what did u do for lightning plz give me some idea..

  • @garvam as far as i remember i used a direkt light in the sky and a vray light close to the tire to make the shadows look smoother

  • your lighting here was spot on with the picture you used, great job!

  • @shibbykid0619 ye but if u look closer, the daylight in the pictures kinda creates a blueish/grey shadow... i didnt manage to create that on my smoke shadow however...

  • @ravand1990 its easy, when you are in the shadow parameters, you can choose that litlle "pipet"i think thats how its called, and copy the color of the real shadow!... hope i coould help!

  • @josediogomafra i remember that i have changed some colors in the shadow parameters, but it didnt help... btw this was vray

  • @ravand1990 oh, lol okay, btw it is an awesom job i must tell you :D

  • @josediogomafra thx mate

  • man .... that a car wheel not a fking fog maker! but great work on the fog!

  • What where your settings/properties in fumefx?

  • What where your settings/properties in fumefx?

  • amazing!

  • thats actually some pretty nice compositing

  • fact

  • @markgagegrande dont say that wise ass

  • you can't have an engine sound when theres no engine

  • where did you get the sound frome?

  • @xXDylanXx13 i dont remember well.. buti think it aws from a lamborghini burnout

  • this is awesome dude keep up with this great work

  • that back ground is from google :)

  • @Saxiiee where else from :P

  • Burnout Wheel(TM)

Just add water! (and a car)

  • very good man!

  • oh that is so cool !

    damn good job !

  • yes, but maybe some day the games like this!

    awesome work!

    Very nice lucky!

  • after seeing this ll think to give 3dsmax a try. only because of fumefx.

im working with maya, but never get those results your having

    Great work. Keep it up

  • nice work! after seeing this i think i stop playin with maya fluids and go for max with fume fx :) uhm and for the sound. after playing this 3 times it sounds like the motor leaves :)

  • ooo how did you do that? there is a lesson?))

  • stutid lol

  • well done

  • Cool...!

  • you should use car for that lol

  • ha ha nice!

  • shit its better than in gta4

  • @metroid557 gta is a game.. these are rendered pictures made to a short clip... u cant compare a movie file with a game engine... PCs would just be tooo slow to render so fast if this would be in a game... that took my pc 1 complete day to finish calculating it (rendering it) 30 frames per secs for 1 day... with gta u have up to 100 frames in a sec!!

  • @ravand1990 holy cow i didnt know dat thx

  • @metroid557 ur welcome ;)

  • @ravand1990 Do you think it'd be possible to implement a lower quality version of this animation in a game and render it in real life with reasonable performance on a decent graphics card?

The reason metroid557 mentioned GTA4 was because the physics in that game are incredibly well sorted, and so are the smoke effects. Just as you see here, the smoke surrounds the tires, then continues to spread. Another great example is NFS Prostreet.

  • @wildbloodydragon sure it is possible... it always depends on the engine of the game... they always find new ways to make it look better even though it has very low polygons/quality.. by using very smart texture/bump/normal maps and ofc. reflections....

  • @wildbloodydragon sure it is possible... it always depends on the engine of the game... they always find new ways to make it look better even though it has very low polygons/quality.. by using very smart texture/bump/normal maps and ofc. reflections....

  • @ravand1990 Check this out:

    watch?v=7kexdKAmh1A

  • @wildbloodydragon

They already have it on Direct X 10

it's called volumetric fog or something

but haven't seen it used extensively...

I think those clouds in Crysis 1 is created using Volumetric fog.

  • @nurbsenvi ofc. it's possible to have smoke like that... even better smoke... but stil that doesnt change, that this animation has manym nay voxels in it, which a pc game engine could not render in real time

  • @ravand1990

yeah the one in the Crysis was not particle based

but I think this one was:

type this in the search window of Youtube->

Nvidia Smoke and Water GPU Physics Demo

  • @ravand1990 yes is can, search up GRID, it has volumetric smoke as nurbsenvi said, its pretty impressive too

  • @nurbsenvi No, volumetric smoke does not create a smoke like this. Unvolumetric smoke, as u see in older games, are made out many separate polygons with smoke textures, and if theres a surface crossing the smoke, we can see sorta grades in the smoke where it crosses the surface, because the smoke is a 2d picture. Volumetric smoke eliminates these grades, and doesnt render the smoke as polys. I dont know exactly how that works, but that is my understanding :)

  • @Vikinatorn its the same example with the trees in the games, when you look at the trees in a top view, you only see 2 planes with textures on it, which creates the illusion of a 3d model when u look at it in a front view

  • @ravand1990 Yes, thats right. But nowadays the planes with leaves on trees tend to face the camera at all times, wich sorta eliminates that. Buut that creates another issue and so forth... I wish we had "Volumetric leaves" tho xD That wouldnt work, but still.

  • @Vikinatorn ;D ... or way better unlimited detail... did u hear from that?... just google for it "Unlimited Detail" i would fucking go insane

  • @ravand1990 Yes, i know what it is and its pretty cool, but Unlimited detail has its limitations, it allows no animation at all :X . So it doesnt really work very well in a gaming envoirement... So it would have to be used for envoirement only, and the envoirement would be completely lifeless, no wind, no nothing.. But its pretty cool tech anyway :D

  • @Vikinatorn im sure they are going to find a way to animate those voxel models :).. well at least I HOPE SO!!!! ^^

  • awesome!

    need tutor :)

  • nice movie. where can i get the burnout animation?

could you tell me that please?

    thanks.

  • what do u mean?.. i have generated the burnout in 3dsmax

  • hi men, can you please tellme the specs of this simulation?.. like the spacing :)

  • could you tell me how to genatate a burnout animation with 3d max(tutorial)

    thanks alot

  • rly cool u shpuld make the whole car like a mazda rx7 and make it drift OMGOMG THAT WOULD BE SIIHIIIICK OMG MAKE IT.

  • r u sure that the after burnout is that size of smoke???

  • i really dont know :D just did some smoke hehe

  • hey ma this is really well comped in... what did you use to make it?

  • 3ds max and fumefx with vray renderer

  • yeh i got that, but no post work?

  • So vray is similar to Mental Ray, only supports Fume Fx? Awesome!

  • @Toca91 Mental Ray Dosnt?

  • it does

  • @ravand1990 ok good, cause i dont whana buy another license so i can use fume

  • jaja, I have that background

    nice effect

  • awesome!!!!

  • nice

  • wow

  • awesome! just awesome!

  • NICE!!!!

  • Gota love that sound

  • gallardo lamborghini

  • omg man thats so extremlly realistic!

lol you forgot the car xD

    jk

  • modeling the car atm ;D thx ^^
