Make that track 6 for the 1st instrumental. Nobody Knows is good Macca 12 bar blues with an 80's production sound which works like a twist on his formula.
I planned to stop listening once I hit the 1st dud but it wasn't until the instrumental at track 5 so kept on...the 2nd dud is the 2nd instrumental...and Boogie Music should've stayed an instrumental...Overall though I'm impressed and surprised as it's a pretty interesting album musically and enjoyable to listen to while reading the news.
Always the experimenter. Take it for what each song is . Brilliant in it's own right. Boyish and giddy and sometimes wonderful. Sometimes ahead of it's time.
I don't care what people say, this is a great album! It isn't my favorite McCartney album (his first album is), it's certainly in the Top 5. "Temporary Secretary" is awesome and funny at the same time, but "Coming Up" is the best track
@beatlesfan464 Temporary Secratary is...well, let's say it's easy to get stuck in your head...I really like his record Ram, though. That's probably his best.
@vitamincity I love the Ram album! It has wonderful songs. I might upload that full album. I heard it might come to the "Paul McCartney Archive Collection"!
Coming Up 0:00 Temporary Secretary 3:54 On the Way 7:11 Waterfall 10:51 Nobody Knows 15:37 Front Parlour 18:31 Summer's Day Song 22:06 Frozen Jap 25:32 Bogey Music 29:13 Darkroom 32:42 One of These Days 35:03
Thank you for posting. Not his strongest effort. But, I can tell that it's one that will grow on me with time. Those are my favorite albums anyway! :-)
@GlitchTelevision At the time of its release, this was not a generally very well-received LP by his then fans. Everyone had been waiting for this much-hyped release - it also got some bad reviews. It was an obviously new direction compared to all of his previous 70's output. It has since remained one of the less-popular in the McCartney catalogue. Ironically, it inspired John Lennon to begin making new music for the first time in 5 years.
OMG! McCartney II is just as cool as his debut!! Love every track on this one! Did Linda co-write any of the songs on this album? I'll wait on your reply! : )
