  • I appreciate the tasteful voicing of this interesting and provocative piece. Synthesized music can STILL be wonderful, as you so capably illustrate here!

  • I love this :3

  • wooo, that's fast....

  • This song is so majestic! I can imagine Anitra dancing! We're playing this song in Symphonic Band in Middle School!

  • ohhh sooo nostalgic. we had this play in 5th grade and I played Solveig!! Remeber being too scared to kiss the boy in my class who played the lead Peer Gynt so we ended up just hugging ;P

  • Ren & Stimpy Show - backrpund music ;)

  • What is Peer Gynt?

  • @Joepphisme Peer Gynt is a musical story. Not sure of the full plot but it's in 2 parts I think (the 2 suites) and based on a Scandinavian legend/saga.

  • @WROrchestra Is it still in theatres?

  • @WROrchestra the music was composed as incidental music for the Ibsen play of the same name. You can read the synopsis of the play at Theatre History dot com

  • @WROrchestra Rather based on a play by Ibsen (correct me if I'm wrong)

  • @Joepphisme Peer gynt is a dramatic poem written by the norway writer Henrik Ibsen. Anitra is an arabic woman who is seduced by Peer Gynt but she rejects him.

  • The Perfect Host (2010) movie brought me here , good movie and very good act :)

  • I was named for this character, an Arabic Princess from Norwegian Dramatist Henrik Ibsen's play "Peer Gynt"

  • Ren and Stimpy music.

  • @Leatherbubba yeah from the episode where ren goes inside stimpys asshole to go to his brain , in the time he

  • @CUBETechie And in Ren's toothache where he is pulling those things out of his mouth with a tweezer.

  • Peer Gynt is probably my favorite!

  • This sounds like a synthesizer.

  • It is nice... but I still like Charlie Norman's version better :)

  • @Animallover30000 - You know *believe it or not*, we don't care that you prodigy elementary whatever orchestra thinks it's easy. You're just being obnoxious.

  • playing Ellingtons version of this song for jazz. I love both versions of this songl

  • This brought back memories of a very cheesy horror movie about killer dolls I watched years ago. I wonder if they used this song in the opening credits...

Wish I could remember the title...

  • @princesscharmer I haven't seen it, but according to the reviews, the 'Chucky' films may be what you are refering to.

  • will someone PLEASE upload arabian dance sang by choir and soprano???

  • Playing this song in Orchestra =]

  • I played this in highschool band class.... very challenging piece... Tougher than In Hall of Mountain King, but not by too much.

  • @GooGobbler113 i dont want to be mean, but i played the peer gynt suite in a middle school orchestra, and it was pretty easy, but thats my opinon. it is a beutiful peice isnt it?

  • @Animallover30000 You clearly played something far more simple than the flute.

  • @GooGobbler113 excuse me? Arnt we alittle rude! No ive heard and seen the flute parts, their not that hard. IN MY OPINION! like i said before

  • Thanks for posting my friend.

  • The Duke Ellington / Billy Strayhorn arrangement, performed by the Glenn Miller Orchestra:

    watch?v=J0odN0NSrIs

    Thanks and regards to all

  • God, I wish I could unhear this!

  • what instruments are playing? i think oboe, plucked strings(?) and what else

  • @angelsunny8 Violins, cellos, violas, bass and horn. barley any wind instruments. (First & secod violins)

  • I thought the first movement was prelude??

  • keyboard...

    Digitalized version this is...

  • Of course you're right, but I think the nomber refers to the peer-gynt-suite, because there are two. The second one is less famous than the first on, but you may know Solveig's sang.

    :-)

  • Anitra's dance is number 2, not 1

  • 1. Morning Mood

    2. Aase's Death

    3. Anitra's Dance

    4. In the Hall of the Mountain King

  • This is definitely the correct order....well done mate :)

  • My bad. didn't know if it was my speakers or not. iv'e got new ones. and know its obvious. anyways, fun to play.

  • So cheerful, beginning reminds me children playing hide n seek

  • Somehow different but still thought it was pretty good.

  • isnt anitra's dance the third movement?

  • Suite No. 1, Op. 46 I - Morning Mood II - Aase's Death III - Anitra's Dance IV - In the Hall of the Mountain King Suite No. 2, Op. 55 I - The Abduction of the Bride. Ingrid's Lament) II - Arabian Dance III - Peer Gynt's Homecoming (Stormy Evening on the Sea) IV - Solveig's Song For some reason, the complete Peer Gynt Suite that I have at home lists Aase's death as part of Suite No. 2!
