What a great stature and name in the history of ghazals. Pakistan is a bit fortunate that singers like Mehdi Hasan, Noor Jehan, Salim Raza, Naseem Begum, Zubeda Khanum have rendered their services equally beautifull as Indian Artist. Without being prejudist I think that singing culture belongs to India. Our Islamic values directly or indirectly restrick this culture.However the immortal talent proved that Pakistan possesses extra ordinary talent. Woh remarkable. God bless him(7th Jan 2011)

Khalid Asghar sahib I am from India and radio pakistan has such treasure trove of classical music colection by Chaggan miyan and stalwarts of patiala Gharana like Barkat ali Khan sahib etc( I hope I got the names right!) and salamat and nazakat ali ( the great Sham chourasi Gharana) sahebs etc are there any plans to release this music on CD's?I am very interested in Pure clasical vocal music!

Mehdi Hassan, a great film and ghazal singer, no doubt he is king of ghazal, he give life to ghazal when it was almost dieing from subcontinent, he is legend without any boundry, art has no boundry, he is God gifted, deep voice & deep art. To listen him you must know what is the rag rung and poetry. And you can enjoy great art just with two instrument which is tabla and harmonium, not with hundred of instrument.

Ustad Tari Khan is from Pakistan Late Ustad Allah Rakha (fame Ravi shankar and Beatles ) is father of renewed Tabla nawaz ustad Zakir Hussan thay are from India but all of them belong to Punjab Gharana
