Whoa, this is even better than the first half, it really fleshes out the possible backstory to the Progenitor Devices and how they got the pure Dalek DNA in them. Also the return to classic Skaro and the classic Daleks was very much anticipated and enjoyed. You're a true master at rendering. And I can't wait for part 3. :D
Okay, so from what I've gathered so far, the New Daleks intercept Dalek Caan after he enters his Temporal Shift at the end of Evolution of the Daleks so he can go back and create the clawed Dalek that creates the progenitor. But now Dalek Caan has to go back again to save Davros so he can create the impure Daleks who find the progenitor afterwards, right? Can't wait to see it anyhow ;)
@dills18 At the moment i have rendered 25 shots ot of 103 im doing one a day so if i worked it out from that then i would say it will be done around june. it would have been done in april but i had to redo shots and make part four wich is action packed and big just be patient im trying to work out borrowing another computer to help with rendering

@puma7372 Well i would have seen the Geneticist and Scientist part of a Science division, Scientist more for technological advancements and Geneticist for biological experimentation. just like paulo9991 said :)
@MASTERYAM0 I would love it to, i wouldnt mind if it were to make it as an extra on one of the seasons of Doctor who on Blu-Ray or DVD. but thats just a dream :P
If Dalek Caan wan't the purest form of Dalek wouldn't he have taken it from the 'Genesis of the Daleks' version, as they were the very first form of Dalek?
@AdamsTardis The Dalek time line is quite confusing but acording to writen articles the Daleks you see in The dead planet were once a peacefull Scientific race caled Dals, who were at war with the Thals who were warlike, eventualy the Dals left Skaro and the Thals became peacefull and non agressive but the Dals returned as Daleks now no longer peacefull. The daleks are defeated but some how they leave and go to earth, Dalek invation of earth. thats that part
now at somepoint in the future the kaled race comes about, war is hapening betwene them and thals, in the kaled city a Scientist called Shan a love interest of Davros discovers the Dal history and comes up with a concept to help the Kaleds survive after Davros is injured in an explosion putting him into his machine it angers him to the point of killing Shan and using her idea to alter the babies in the whombs of the mothers, who died whilst giving birth. this is how these Daleks came about
this explanes why the genesis daleks could leave there city. but its all a theory and it still is confusing and contradicting. but i like it and makes scense of it all
these events are mentiond in dalek anuals, i, Davros from big finish and other books i cant remember
@InsertNameHere297 all i know is that the Dals left Skaro and returned as Daleks there history is so contradictory, make it as you wish i know what path im going down lol

@bubbachix The cult of Skaro were comanders in certain fields, cant exactly remember off the top of my head but somthing like Dalek Jast was squadren leader in some sector, Dalek Thay comander of somthing and so on... but they were selected based on there achivements. in terms of impurity we dont exactly know if these NSD daleks were imperial daleks, or renegade but as i have said seeing they intergrated imperial daleks into the renegade faction they cant be pure.
This is so INCREDIBLE! So professional! I've watched it many times! Love how Skaro is partly black & white and I loved the Skaro Daleks' voices; reminiscent of the odd Imperial voice from Remembrance! Can't get enough of it, can't wait for the next instalment!
But how IS Caan impure, he's from the Cult of Skaro, and there is no answer as to how old the cult actually is; but clearly from Skaro. I've looked through the comments and can't see where you've answered this question. I can only assum
@timelash , the animation in this is fantastic, absolutely amazing, i almost thought it was live action. Big Finish productions should employ you to animate a few of their popular Dalek Audio stories
Part three has been altered and is well underway with rendering, and the surprise part four is now ready for rendering too. I now have 20 shots rendered and it is a quarter of the way there so part three will be here very soon. Keep an eye out for the trailer this will let you know it’s only days away from airing.
Thanks for your support and I promise to have something for you soon..
@puma7372 well in the classics such as Revelation of the Daleks, Remembrance of the Daleks, and several Big Finish audios, Davros had altered Dalek DNA which i quote from Revelation in regards to the imperial Daleks "Renegade Dalek - they will not be destroyed they will be reconditioned" and seeing that Davros was involved in the time war it's safe to say that he created an army so who knows.
@puma7372 in terms of the effect, when i recorded the vocals with the effect it sounded like the originals but when you hear the NSD or NPD daleks talk it makes the originals sound bad so i increased the modulation to give them something a bit more individual. if you think i made the old daleks sound like the new ones then give Big Finish a try Nick Briggs makes the 60's renegade and imperial daleks all sound the same so i think i did well giving them some individuality.
what other tales have you got planed after part 3? theres so many posiblities, davros trial, dalek actions during the time war, the cult of scaro etc, personlay i love to see how the daleks came back after the orignal dalek ep where the doctor shut of there power source
It's cool don't say sorry I like to be perfect and if I'm wrong tell me, if you didn't say then part three would be out of place to all the written media out there and that's something I just can't do, especially with a series with nearly fifty years history.
the good news is I have salvaged the majority of the animation with slight alterations, but the extra scene has become too long so it may now be a short part 4 :)
@speedyeggbert2009 the starting sound was ripped from the 5.1 audio but the rest of the sound was the dalek control room effect with an effect called windup.
A comment from "ojcoolj1" mentioned that the progenitor should be close to earth rather than the middle of the blitz, so I'm taking some artistic licensing on this one.
But I got thinking, while shopping with the wife and kids I thought I would see what else could be wrong, and guess what? there is, I now have to reanimate part three.
Sorry guys but I want this as close as possible to Doctor Who canon and don't want to stray too far. I will let you know when Im rendering again.
@TheDrunkfarmer Exterminate was hardly used in the first two Dalek episodes it wasn't till "the chase" when Exterminate became a catchphrase (i think)
Hi guys, Thanks for subscribing and leaving awesome comments wish I had time to answer you all. Anyway time for an update.
I have officially come off my long and needed brake. Rendering has now once again commenced, but I couldn’t resist but push the animation a little bit further and added a new scene. Don’t ask what it is as my lips are sealed, but it will be worth the wait. I hope :)
Be patient as “ The Dalek That Time Forgot” will conclude soon...
Really thought I should inform you, in the brilliant book of 2011 it was said that the progenitor was found near earth. you may need to find some way to retcon it unfortunately, but great series. keep it up
@LetsKillMoffat I don't understand people like you who just have to make negative comments about stuff other people create. As my old mum is fond of saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say, shut up."
An amazing mini series! Love the fade into color at the start of this episode. Reminded me of the beginning of "The Two Doctors". I also liked how (in true Doctor Who fashion) little of the Dalek mutant is shown. ;) Stellar work all round!
Superb stuff! And I love the way you use the original Raymond Cusick design of the dalek mutant with the clawed hand (which was never seen in its entirety and was soon replaced with featureless blobs in the later 1960s when the Beeb production team first showed the mutants) - anyone interested can see a little sculpture Ray made of his design (plus in the background his original colour sketch) here: wwwDOTdalek-maniaDOTcoDOTuk/RC (can't post the URL for some reason).
This looks great. I'm looking forward to part 3! One thing though - many of the Dalek movements are jerky and a bit 'sudden'... Have you tried smoothing them out using the function curves in your animation editor? Smoother Dalek movements will help them feel a lot more like they do on TV. At the moment I find the jerkiness a bit distracting.
@montdom Thanks for the comment, I know about the movements on the Daleks, when I started the project it was nearly a year ago it was taking a long time to do and I’m still not finished, so i compensated as I wanted to make it look nice and passable, so easing in and out as well as Dalek twitching was left out for the time being to have something made, the recent extra scene has all the animation principles added as I had the time. :)
@timelash Not sure if you're still taking criticism, but I found the loud noises of Caan a bit distracting as well. When he turns his discs for example, or moves along the floor, his mechanical noises are a bit too loud in my opinion. Otherwise great job!
@yokidboy The Daleks from the past run on static electricity running in the floors, they couldn’t even leave there city, I very much doubt they would be able to scan for teleported energy. They probably didn’t have any concept of temporal mechanics. It’s like giving a mobile phone to a cave man, he probably use it to crack open a coconut.
@DalekWindmill It's a one-man show so you canunderstand it takes a lot of his time besides family and day job. But I've just recorded a guest role in part 3! Watch this space!
@ilikethecoke In the first part, the Scientist mentions that the "Progenitor Regenerator" will create a "Geneticist". I'm guessing that's what the green Dalek is.
1. The blast that crippled Davros drastically altered his genetics & made him as different from the Kaleds as they were from Thals.
2. Each generation of new embryos would probably have experienced minor genetic mutations, resulting in impure offspring (recall dead embryos in Daleks in Manhattan).
3. Gunstick radiation was confirmed to give off enough radiation to affect the Dalek on a cellular level with repeated use. Probably why the new Daleks look so sturdy.
@Sp8d8 Hmmm. Kaleds and Thals were genetically different? I thought it was just a sort of clan thing. Certainly I knew Daleks and Thals were different genetically, but that's a different kettle of fish. Also, each generation experiencing minor genetic changes wouldn't automatically tip Daleks into self loathing would it? Indeed, there was once a civil war between two factions about which set of Daleks was "pure in their blobbiness".
@TheValeyard92 According to I, Davros (canonicity uncertain) the Kaleds were evolved from primates, and the Thals from shell fish I think?
And a subsequent mutations would hardly be considered important, especially when the rest of the race is slowly deviating from the original pure Dalek. Possibly why the NPD immediately noticed the difference.
As for the gunsticks, I can't actually fin where that was stated atm. Will investigate further, may have dreamed it ¬_¬
wouldn't the lower levels where dalek caan arives have security censers incase the thals ateppted to attack the city or did the progeniter daleks trick the censers into thinking caan wasn't there or did the old daleks think that the thals weren't powerful enough to attack so left it ungarded ?
@GoldDalek506 Caan would have probably done something to stop any of the other Daleks suspecting anything. Anyway, the lower levels would have been underground and therefore inaccessible by anyone without going in through the top first.
I can't get over the quality of the whole thing. The script and storyline, the animation, the voices (best Daleks since Nick Briggs)... Just amazing. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Oh, and Dalek Caan was a pure Dalek, he wasn't made from Davros's cells. He was a Dalek normally, so that impure thing doesn't make sense in this story, but that's ok XD it's still good lol
@DanielRDrew Not necessarily, if you watch the classics everything after Revelation of the Daleks suggests that no true Dalek is pure especially when the renegade says "they will not be destroyed, they will be reconditioned" referring to the imperial faction. they only thing we know is that the emperor created the cult of Skaro so who knows :)
@timelash Hmmm, I can't remember the difference between the renegades and the imperials, what was it again, I remember Davros posing as the Emperor, and him being the boss of one of the factions, can't remember which though. And did the Emperor create the Cult? Cuz they're "above and beyond the emperor" aren't they? So he created the cult to be higher in rank than him? It seems weird, though plausible lol. But yeah I forgot about that episode's significance.
@TheKingMgee Then why would the Cult of Skaro be higher in power than the emperor? >_< It's just seems weird, though yes it makes sense that he thinks differently, just not that they'd seem him in a negative light. I mean they are still the cult of Skaro, I assume that still means that they're important.
@TheKingMgee I know, sorry, I was basing my response on what timelash said, that the emperor create the cult of skaro, so I was like how can the cult have been above the emperor but created by him. sorry lol XD
@DanielRDrew The cult of skaro is above the emperor becuase the emporer is just the leader, the cult of skaro is essential to the daleks survival, so have a higher status
@TheKingMgee *facepalm* Yeah, I know why they are above him. We're saying the same thing lol. My point is that since they are above him and so important, why would they be seen as impure? That would mean that the Dalek emperor would have been seen that way too (by the Paradigm, which would be weird I'd think). It just seems strange.
@DanielRDrew Timelash said that ever since Revelation of the daleks, no dalek is entirley pure. The new dalek paradigm is made from pure dalek DNA, so they are like from before revelation of the daleks
@TheKingMgee Mk, I mean that makes sense. lol it just always seems weird. Poor Daleks XD they've had such a history within themselves. Though I do find it funny how a race of emotionless beings has factions lol. When I watched that I was like hmmm, this is weird. Though I guess Davros played a part in that happening, pitting them against the, then, ruling Daleks. But yeah lol.
One word to describe: AWESOME, can't wait for Part 3! One question, if they destroyed the Progenitor, does it mean the "Power Rangers" Daleks never exist?
@Timelord114 They didn't destroy it, it got sent back to 1941 so it could be found later when those couple Davros cell made Daleks could track and find it.
Can't wait for part 3

Great job though. Keep it up!
montdom 2 months ago
@montdom Thanks for the comment, I know about the movements on the Daleks, when I started the project it was nearly a year ago it was taking a long time to do and I’m still not finished, so i compensated as I wanted to make it look nice and passable, so easing in and out as well as Dalek twitching was left out for the time being to have something made, the recent extra scene has all the animation principles added as I had the time. :)
timelash 2 months ago
@timelash Not sure if you're still taking criticism, but I found the loud noises of Caan a bit distracting as well. When he turns his discs for example, or moves along the floor, his mechanical noises are a bit too loud in my opinion. Otherwise great job!

@montdom I will, agree, but Dalek Caan is preety good

couldnt the old daleks scan for teloprt static residue
yokidboy 2 months ago
@yokidboy The Daleks from the past run on static electricity running in the floors, they couldn’t even leave there city, I very much doubt they would be able to scan for teleported energy. They probably didn’t have any concept of temporal mechanics. It’s like giving a mobile phone to a cave man, he probably use it to crack open a coconut.

@DalekWindmill It's a one-man show so you canunderstand it takes a lot of his time besides family and day job. But I've just recorded a guest role in part 3! Watch this space!

Another thing, also brilliant, rewatching this is the Dalek movement, the classic original Daleks' movement is very well done.

What class would this new Dalek that Caan helped create have?
Like how in the Paradigm there's the Supreme Dalek, the Eternal, the Strategist, the Scientist, and the Drone.

@ilikethecoke Engineer Dalek?
butterflyknifexxxx2 3 months ago
@ilikethecoke In the first part, the Scientist mentions that the "Progenitor Regenerator" will create a "Geneticist". I'm guessing that's what the green Dalek is.

Just brilliant, amazing.
All the models, the 60s Daleks, Caan, the New Dalek, everything, just, it's just really amazingly well done.
The voices also totally sell this, it's amazing work. Fantastically done!

This (and the previous part) are truly great works of art.
Yet it has puzzled me ever since Victory... How can Daleks grown from mutated Kaled (ie: Davros') cells be anything BUT pure Daleks?
TheValeyard92 3 months ago
@TheValeyard92
Sp8d8 2 months ago
@Sp8d8 Hmmm. Kaleds and Thals were genetically different? I thought it was just a sort of clan thing. Certainly I knew Daleks and Thals were different genetically, but that's a different kettle of fish. Also, each generation experiencing minor genetic changes wouldn't automatically tip Daleks into self loathing would it? Indeed, there was once a civil war between two factions about which set of Daleks was "pure in their blobbiness".
TheValeyard92 2 months ago
@Sp8d8 Also, just out of curiosity, when was this confirmed about Dalek neutralisers?
TheValeyard92 2 months ago
@TheValeyard92 According to I, Davros (canonicity uncertain) the Kaleds were evolved from primates, and the Thals from shell fish I think?
And a subsequent mutations would hardly be considered important, especially when the rest of the race is slowly deviating from the original pure Dalek. Possibly why the NPD immediately noticed the difference.
As for the gunsticks, I can't actually fin where that was stated atm. Will investigate further, may have dreamed it ¬_¬
Sp8d8 2 months ago
@TheValeyard92
Also, thinking about it that could have purely been propaganda fed to the Kaleds to de....-Kaledise(?) the Thals and prolong the war
Sp8d8 2 months ago
How on earth did u do the animation?
Skywalker7891 3 months ago
If I could ask, will you continue to do more Dalek Tales after The Dalek That Time Forgot?

Horrorgods666 3 months ago
wouldn't the lower levels where dalek caan arives have security censers incase the thals ateppted to attack the city or did the progeniter daleks trick the censers into thinking caan wasn't there or did the old daleks think that the thals weren't powerful enough to attack so left it ungarded ?
GoldDalek506 3 months ago
@GoldDalek506 Caan would have probably done something to stop any of the other Daleks suspecting anything. Anyway, the lower levels would have been underground and therefore inaccessible by anyone without going in through the top first.

@TheTardis34 I tink he uses the same device as nick briggs, i heared in an interview with him that you can buy them so thats what i think
terriblethomas101 3 months ago
@terriblethomas101 No, it's a ring modulator plugin that you can use in Adobe Audition. I know Lee uses this.

I can't get over the quality of the whole thing. The script and storyline, the animation, the voices (best Daleks since Nick Briggs)... Just amazing. Can't wait to see what happens next.

snipertroop 3 months ago
Oh, and Dalek Caan was a pure Dalek, he wasn't made from Davros's cells. He was a Dalek normally, so that impure thing doesn't make sense in this story, but that's ok XD it's still good lol
DanielRDrew 3 months ago
@DanielRDrew Not necessarily, if you watch the classics everything after Revelation of the Daleks suggests that no true Dalek is pure especially when the renegade says "they will not be destroyed, they will be reconditioned" referring to the imperial faction. they only thing we know is that the emperor created the cult of Skaro so who knows :)
timelash 3 months ago 6
@timelash Hmmm, I can't remember the difference between the renegades and the imperials, what was it again, I remember Davros posing as the Emperor, and him being the boss of one of the factions, can't remember which though. And did the Emperor create the Cult? Cuz they're "above and beyond the emperor" aren't they? So he created the cult to be higher in rank than him? It seems weird, though plausible lol. But yeah I forgot about that episode's significance.
DanielRDrew 3 months ago
@timelash willl the geneticist dalek be exterminated by the new daleks in part 3?
leothelion19 3 months ago
@leothelion19 isnt the geneticist "pure" too ?
they might keep him somewhere with the job of keeping the daleks "pure".. minion to the scientist.
paulo9991 3 months ago
@DanielRDrew Surley Dalek caan is inpure because he thinks differently
TheKingMgee 3 months ago
@TheKingMgee Then why would the Cult of Skaro be higher in power than the emperor? >_< It's just seems weird, though yes it makes sense that he thinks differently, just not that they'd seem him in a negative light. I mean they are still the cult of Skaro, I assume that still means that they're important.
DanielRDrew 3 months ago
@DanielRDrew In doomsday, the dovtor said 'above and beyond the emporer himself'!
TheKingMgee 3 months ago
@TheKingMgee I know, sorry, I was basing my response on what timelash said, that the emperor create the cult of skaro, so I was like how can the cult have been above the emperor but created by him. sorry lol XD
DanielRDrew 3 months ago
@DanielRDrew thats ok. i guess its easily overlooked due to the fact the last of the cult was destroyed many years ago now
TheKingMgee 3 months ago
@TheKingMgee Well, I knew about it, but I meant that it's weird that they would be impure and yet allowed to be a group above the emperor.
DanielRDrew 3 months ago
@DanielRDrew The cult of skaro is above the emperor becuase the emporer is just the leader, the cult of skaro is essential to the daleks survival, so have a higher status
TheKingMgee 3 months ago
@TheKingMgee *facepalm* Yeah, I know why they are above him. We're saying the same thing lol. My point is that since they are above him and so important, why would they be seen as impure? That would mean that the Dalek emperor would have been seen that way too (by the Paradigm, which would be weird I'd think). It just seems strange.
DanielRDrew 3 months ago
@DanielRDrew Timelash said that ever since Revelation of the daleks, no dalek is entirley pure. The new dalek paradigm is made from pure dalek DNA, so they are like from before revelation of the daleks
TheKingMgee 3 months ago
@TheKingMgee Mk, I mean that makes sense. lol it just always seems weird. Poor Daleks XD they've had such a history within themselves. Though I do find it funny how a race of emotionless beings has factions lol. When I watched that I was like hmmm, this is weird. Though I guess Davros played a part in that happening, pitting them against the, then, ruling Daleks. But yeah lol.
DanielRDrew 3 months ago
One word to describe: AWESOME, can't wait for Part 3! One question, if they destroyed the Progenitor, does it mean the "Power Rangers" Daleks never exist?
Timelord114 3 months ago
@Timelord114 They didn't destroy it, it got sent back to 1941 so it could be found later when those couple Davros cell made Daleks could track and find it.
DanielRDrew 3 months ago
@Timelord114 No, this is a different Projenitor regenerator. so sorry to bus
