I was in rehab for alcohol before, came out and was doing fine for about a year. my blood pressure went down, lost a bunch of weight, and my liver enzymes returned to normal. Thought I could drink a little again. nope. started out with an ol drinking friend having a couple beers socially only. this past 2 weeks have become a blur, with fifths, and wine boxes everywhere. my body was rejecting all liquids and foods of any kind. I quit, again, 3 days ago and I'm just now starting to feel normal

There is a factor called individual susceptibility, this means that some people react in different ways and greater ways than other people. The fact that you haven't developed any conditions could mean that you are more tolerant towards alcohol than others, so you are less likely to develop such diseases, whereas others could develop them drinking the same amount of alcohol as you do.
@TBA810ASx This does happen occationally but its proven statistically (and if you just walk into a local bar) that alcoholics live shorter lives, are significantly unhealthier, causes cancer, liver disease etc etc. Its about a 95% chance your not going to be one of those people who live long lives and drink. None of these things seem to be taken seriously until they watch someone they love slowly die from it. My mother has been an alcoholic for about 10 yrs. She has been affected by all of the things mentioned in this video. She was a beautiful person & now people don't recognize her. She falls down all the time from blackout's. She has seizures and shakes from withdraws. She's also dodged dying in ICU numerous times. I'm hoping she'll live to see me graduate college in 2 yrs.

This other guy who's hand was shaking so much couldnt drink to steady his nerves unless he tied a bandage around his wrist which then led up around the back of his neck and down the other side to his other hand ; with that one he used to pull the end of the bandage so that his other hand,in which he placed his glass, would be pulled up to his mouth without shaking too much
I knew some old guy and for years to save him the trouble of drinking he just used to climb in a giant vat of whiskey bigger than he was every day ; he was haemorrhaging blood through his prick in the end and his liver burst

I was diagnosed at 31 with cirrhosis. Living with cirrhosis is byfar the most painful experience of my life.I was given 3 months to live. I stopped drinking March 6th 5:30 am, 2010 and have not looked back for even 1 second.

im 22 and been drinking everday since i was 15. I would drink over 8 beers a day and now im getting kidney pain, shortness of breath and been getting stabfeeling pain in the heart.

Slow down or quit and eat fruits and veggies. If you have pancreatitis, check yourself into a hospital immediately!

@trigg3r305 alcohol affects everybody in different ways. my advise my dear would be don't ignore the symptoms, go see your doctor and tell him/her your problems and what's more important, tell that you have been drinking for a long time. only that way you can be helped properly. as for self help, you should look into meetings for support and also get your loved ones involved. you are so young...good luck.

I have been drinking since I was 22, I'm 28 and I'm already having problems with alcohol, it can really affect your body, I work out and play soccer and still the alcohol is messing my body up, I dont feel good with out drinking, I have to drink to have fun with my friends and I realize that is a problem. but I have cut back a lot, I think most like it too much to admit it, but alcohol is a big problem in our lives.

My next door neighbour never drank or smoked or did any illegal drugs!!!! She used to walk for an hour every day!!!! She died of cancer at the age of 43:( People do what you feel is right!!! You could walk in front of a bus tommorow and be killed!!! Don't give into these doctors!!! Scientists have been wrong before!!! My message is do anything you want in moderation!!! I drink 3 times a week and smoke 15 ciggerettes a day!!! Also i smoked weed for years!!! Im as healthy as a horse:)

Ya so I've been drinking daily for a few years, getting smashed everyday.
... 4 words..... MY HEART IS FUCKED.
Try sleeping when you can hear you own heartbeat and it sounds like a old car engine. I cut down to around 2-3 beers a day, and now havn't had a single drop in 3 days. Wish me luck, o and my heart bothering me more since I cut back and quit, so it's really hard.

@conman2317 good luck on your sobriety. I'm 147 days sober and it is amazing. a bad day sober is a heck of a lot better than a good day drinking or just smashed!!! I was diagnosed at 31 with cirrhosis. Living with cirrhosis is byfar the most painful experience of my life.I was given 3 months to live. I stopped drinking March 6th 5:30 am, 2010 and have not looked back for even 1 second.

This is fucking stupid. Alcohol helps the heart!!! and there is no proof that Alcohol causes any cancer. Face it... We humans don't know the fucking cause for Cancer. If anything you have to worry about your liver getting fucked up.
