this is something that you have to do for yourself. It takes mostly mental strength to do something like this!!! Sometimes I wonder if I could something like that, if this would b my thing. Last week I saw a new movie, “Discover the Gift”, which talks about being true to yourself and do whatever you do best giving 100% all the time. I loved it! facebook. com/discoverthegift
iimke, Press hard, don't surrender, never. It's a challenge of mind not of body. Your body will take a severe pounding but if you don't surrender you'll make it!
Good luck!!!
Be advised... once you make it, you will NEVER stop doing it. You're still in time NOT to go, mind me!!! :))))
In 2008 the winner (Craig Alexander) took 8 hours and 17 minutes (Swim 51 minutes, cycling 4 hours and 37 minutes and the marathon in 2 hours and 47 minutes). He also won 2009 with a similar result.
You can definitely do it. However, you need to remember there are 3 disciplines involved, swimming, cycling and running. Being a runner for years, I find swimming to be the most challenging for me. Keep running strong but do not forget the two other disciplines.
You have to off your bike by 5 pm or your disqualified, then you have until 12 to complete the marathon, but your winners, you're talking about 8-9 hours
The music is from Requiem for a Dream and is called Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell. If you want to find it on youtube just search for "requiem for a dream" :)

Thanks, but it's too late. I finished my first IRONMAN :D
And it was such a great day, I loved it all the time, from swimming through the bike until the run, and the best of all: THE FINISH LINE!!
And 48hrs after I finished my first, I was already signing up for my second Ironman.. Ooooh I'm addicted.
And love it :D
