His 210 looked somewhat easy and I think he could have matched that old 215.5 from Varbanov but still being 2kg heavier. One way records have "improved" over time is---shorter stature lifters in same or close to same bodyweight classes. More muscle per inch or millimeter of stature = more strength, less distance to move weight. I still like Pickett's "press" of 457 at six feet, five inches.

This is an example of "catapult" technique, no? Hardly any extension of the ankles and insanely fast under the bar.

At the very end of second pull, he keeps extending very powerfully with the hips. Nothing moves in his back.
