Actually I think hygiene issues are one of the first things you need to consider when you are mixing with other cultures. If you smell weird to the majority of the people in that culture, it's up to you, not others to fix the problem. Meaning that the fault of such a problem begins and ends with the smelly person. It's respecting those around you, instead of demanding that everyone respect you.
