A democracy should be the stepping stone to reinforce the republic, not the other way around. There are really no nations right now that have good systems that work. All products and services can be provided by private businesses at higher quality and lower cost than by government, and this includes security services such as police and courts. The ideal society is one without government, where free people interact with each other on the basis of voluntary contract.
They don't have to agree on one thing, in a private market for security everyone would choose how much security/insurance they want. Since everyone pays directly, a system would develop that protects property rights and ignores victimless "crimes".

The argument I am making IS NOT whether Ron Paul "is "or "is not" a good guy. The argument I AM making is that what he preaches, a republic formed by a constitution and bill of rights, NO LONGER EXIST. The harm he does is to convince the sheeple they still LIVE IN a Republic. I think he's the first to concede it no longer exists my friend, therein lies the problem and hence the case for reversing that.
I can't agree that he tries to "convince" anyone of anything, he asserts that the constitutional principles laid out by the founders namely sound non-fiat money, a non-interventionist foreign policy, protecting civil liberties and private property have been systematically abandoned more or less by every ensuing government since they were created.

Ron Paul is telling the truth. The troops would be out of the middle east by now, or close to it. The U.S. has a population which has been so dumbed down that almost all hope is lost. Thankfully many people are waking up, but it could be to late. Obama will probably not be reelected, but we'll vote another idiot in who will continue the same crap. It's become the American way.

Ron Paul had the largest support from the most unlikely medium ~internet~ in 08 and would have clearly won if the polls and votes were not lost and or hacked or otherwise manipulated, sad to say the voting process is so broken and corruption runs so deep others will continue to view America as dicks

@afshin021 The US was a republic and our founding fathers warned us of too much democracy, which is a flawed system. In a republic the law the is above all, in a democracy it isnt. A democracy should be the stepping stone to reinforce the republic, not the other way around. There are really no nations right now that have good systems that work. We are all in the same sht hole together in that regard.

@afshin021 eh, the scandinavians i know all come from families that have businesses, which hate it because they cannot earn very much. They are capped at certain profit levels and therefore dont bother trying to progress, which is why they are trying to leave. Australia's system isnt bad, but its not good either. Sure some are better than others, but things could be better, especially if we looked at how the early Greeks operated.

Why is government essential? All products and services can be provided by private businesses at higher quality and lower cost than by government, and this includes security services such as police and courts. The ideal society is one without government, where free people interact with each other on the basis of voluntary contract.

They don't have to agree on one thing, in a private market for security everyone would choose how much security/insurance they want. Since everyone pays directly, a system would develop that protects property rights and ignores victimless "crimes".

Bernanke is the just the front man for the real criminals who are not elected and thru nepatism and cronnies, never change leadership. They run everything pretty much. He who has the gold makes the rules. Benanke smiles at the hearings where they're tearing him apart, why because he knows that he is there TO take the blame, not the banking families that control the counterfeitting. Ron Paul is one of the few americans that gets the fact that Bernanke is really the biggest asshole in the world. Fine he can create a trillion on a whim but every trillion he makes will only devalue our currency. The question is why arent the government printing their own money at no personal profit to Ben Bernanke. Problem is the government at the moment under Obama who's like Bernanke's cheerleader. Obama needs to be taken out of power because if this government reclaims it it's over.

The Fed just sells money to the US government. Who toilettes the money with senseless policies is the US government not the Fed. If someone spent money in a senseless way using a credit card, would it be MC or Amex the ones to blame? I believe all these critics are missing the point because they are part of the problem. The problem is that the Fed prints money, thus devaluing the money that you, I, and everyone else has. Ron Paul doesn't want the government to spend that much money either.
Without the Fed, the government can get its money from foreign governments, savings bonds, or private banks. That's what they did before the Fed.

Unfortunately the gang that rules the town allows us to see what they want us to see and believe. The real story behind this mess is a salary leveling process. You are jobless for 3, 4 or 5 monthe and I tell you, you will be crying to get the same job you had for half the money. This si what is behind thic "crisis". We wre getting downsized to compete with China, India and Mexico so the manufacturers that left the US will consider to reinvest in the States. This what globalization is about.
