For all of you people saying the F-22's maneuverability is less than the Su-37's, you are simply looking at the 37's (and other sukhoi's) maneuverability in air shows. When they're carrying thousands of pounds of missiles, the F-22's superior thrust to weight ratio will give it a dominant edge over the Su-(x) aircraft.

US Military always underestimates their hardware when it comes to specifications in tanks/jets/helicopters you name it. We sell these to other nations but the versions we have are always "heavily modded" with much different electronics and weaponry to remain superior. They have been doing this for decades and the f22 is no different

For example, everyone says the Raptor is superior to every other aircraft cos that's what we've been told. Doesn't necessarily mean that that is correct.

yea from the footage Ive seen I'd say that an american f22 raptor could take down just about any other nations jet fighter just based on maneuverability alone without even bringing firepower into the equation, the su-37 is a step up for the people flying it but, as its been majority of the time through history, the USA maintains air supremacy

I think the 22 was choosen more for it looks..The 23 looked like a E.T aircraft..next thing people start phoning in about them seeing UFO's..:)..Still both aircraft are kick ass..Anyone can confirm that there was really a F-19 concept??

The USAF made the biggest mistake picking the 22 over the 23! The 23 was a far superior aircraft.

Look up the statistics of the f23 and then the f22 and then youll see.Higher rate of climb, more mobile,more stealthy,state of the art super computers,and can kill from over 100km away and currently the US is applying upgrades to extend its range to over 250kms, and its armed with long range missles.

Iran's F-14 are being optimized with native technology. Buying is not an acheivement, being able to build yourself is surely an acheivement. Its solving the problem the hard way but in the end it pays off. Iran is on the track of building its own planes
