i think people mistake australian shepherds for border collies then they mistake catahoulas for australian shepherds, but they think it's a border collie...yeah, sorry if thats weird sounding. But thats the only way I can see they have anything in common. by the way loved the video, I'm buying a catahoula in a few weeks, can't wait.
I had the same issue when I got mine from the pound. I thought she was a BC mix of some sort. She was a little puppy. Even her feet weren't that big. I have a merle and tan.
i have a blue merle catahoula too...she was kind of rough the first year, but wow...great dog. incredibly loyal, protective...stellar watchdogs. got mine by accident, she had markings like a rough coat border collie as a pup in the pound and was mislabeled as being over a year old. discovered later she was only 4 months of age...now 70lbs, and obviously NOT a border collie. i have one of those too, but they get along fine. great pair of dogs...both great breeds.
Most protective and territorial dog we have ever owned. She was a handful for the first couple of years, but well worth the time. If you have kids and want a dog that is as gentle as a golden, but watches like a doberman, this is the breed.

I have one she has stripes kinda
found her as a stray she was starving to death so took her in
just found out she has heart worms and it would cost too much to fix her and its probably too late. and shes really young. :(

i LOVE my Catahoula..(Patch). he's beautiful, and just a wonderful dog w/my 4 children..even the littlest one (4 wks old).
Patch has saved my life before, attacking an intruder who later turned out to be a paroled convicted rapist!
